Square space is a super to easy use website if you have no idea how to build websites. I used it for my business (restaurant) and was able to have it up and running in hours. It has a low monthly cost and is easy to make adjustments. It looks good on all different screens (iPhone, laptop, iPad)
I honestly can't think of much I don't like about it. I would say make it free but that's not realistic. Possibly a way that they could open their own hosting where you could buy domains that aren't .squarespace like a GoDaddy. Would pay more to not have my hosting paid through another company.
Before we only had a facebook business page, it is great because when people search our business on google it is the first selection. Our traffic on it is very high and it was easy to put the coding in to allow our customers to order online.
drag and drop design, easy commerce system, mobile responsiveness, updating content is very easy, eye-catching templates, password protected page capabilities
When I set up my organization's shop, it was unclear that payments would be processing through Stripe. Also, turning on PayPal and making the store live was a bit unclear. I wish there was an easier way to add CSS changes.
Squarespace makes it easy to accept donations and sell tickets without sending users off site. We've also enjoyed being able to password protect certain pages to disseminate information to clients and students. It's so much more efficient than keeping track of a bunch of email threads.
I love how simple it is to use. You don't need to know anything about codes to make a beautiful and well designed website. I'm self employed as a massage therapist so it's just me, myself, and I. When it became clear that a website would be essential to my business, Squarespace was recommended by a friend. I'm so glad that I didn't waste time with any other website building company. I've even been able to make a new client intake form that sends all the information to my email, completely eliminating the need to keep up with paper files, which is amazing! I'll be using Squarespace as long as I have my business!
My only complaint- and it's really so so minor- is that they don't use Square for payment processing (for gift certificates and such). You have to use Stripe (in their defense, this has the same details as Square as far as being free and charges per transaction). I ended up getting Acuity Scheduling (which does use Square for their GCs) so it ended up working out just fine.
My website is used for general information about myself and massage, scheduling appointments, and buying gift certificates. It's been great to be able to direct clients to my website to fill out their forms and gather any additional information they might need.
I like that the website has modern, easily changeable templates to keep your portfolio looking fresh.
I dislike the fact that they're unwilling to let my 2nd site have the same price my first site has.
Portfolio management. Easy updating. And the biggest problem, mobile. All their sites look good on mobile.
I love how easy the editor is - I can build a wordpress site from scratch, but sometimes I don't want to run through the gamut of steps you have to take to push a site live the right way. With Squarespace everything is intuitive and easy to use. You can customize anything you want to, but you definitely don't need to. If you're looking for a platform that you don't have to worry about coding - Squarespace is the answer.
Hooking up some external integrations is more complicated than I would like it to be, but it's not a deal breaker by any means.
I got my personal website up and running in a couple hours and was able to do it without too much trouble. The agility and speed of the platform really helped me pivot quickly when circumstances changed on me. It was a lifesaver in a stressful time.
Squarespace is beautiful and easy to use. hands down!
I would like to see more analytics. I would also like to see pictures of my merchandise on the order forms (like etsy does).
customers can contact us, find our store, and buy merchandise online!
The amount of time it takes to build a website using one of the Squarespace templates versus creating code from scratch makes it easier to take on more projects as a web designer. Also, the customer service is impeccable. Whenever I have a question whether small or more complicated, a customer service representative is right there and willing to help as quickly and efficiently as possible.
I wish there was an option of looking up a type of website I'm looking to create for reference such as right now I'm building an Insurance website but am a little stumped at where to start template wise. It's always nice to have examples to look at for reference, especially for a very corporate type of company that's looking for some edge and fun added to their site to draw in more visitors.
The options of templates are extremely helpful for serving as a good base especially with a client that is unsure of their goals. Also, the analytics element that Squarespace has is extremely helpful for every small business using this platform. It's a much needed tool.
As someone who has tried everything from iWeb to Wix to Everweb to Weebly to just learning HTML myself, I can confidently say that Squarespace is absolutely the best web-based site builder on the market. Easy to manipulate templates and smart modules allow you to create the exact looks you're going for.
There almost isn't anything I dislike about Squarespace. The only downside is, funnily enough, the up-take in the learning process. Once you get the hang of things, Squarespace is easy, but the learning curve can be confusing and somewhat daunting. I wish there were a clearer, more walk-through based tutorial.
I currently run four websites through Squarespace. I am an artist manager, so I run my company website along with individual ones for my clients. Through Squarespace, it's been easy to give my sites a cohesive feel without making them all identical and redundant.
Squarespace is the perfect solution for large sites, or creating mini/microsites for education and lead conversion.
Needs better SEO and integration with business platforms.
Able to get a revamped, temporary website (eight pages) up in under two days as the main site is in development.
I love the simplicity of the editor, while still having the flexibility to make your designs look entirely customized. I also love how you can trust that it just will work - no stress about hosting, complicated coding, or anything!
The interface takes a little getting used to and for me was a bit counter intuitive. Maybe that was because I was transferring from Wordpress which was way over my head so I was expecting Squarespace to be more complicated!
I use Squarespace to build and host 4 separate websites - once I the first one I built was so quick and easy, I rapidly switched over my other site and told my colleagues to do the same!
Intuitive, simple interface; beautiful base templates; fairly simple to customize even further with custom code.
No back-up or "versioned" options for custom settings or content.
Getting a beautiful, responsive website up for myself and clients in a short amount of time, at an affordable price and with easy maintenance.
I like the different templates, but I also love that they are very customizable. The user experience of design is quite intuitive, which makes it easy to move things around where you need them, add pages, remove pages, etc.
Occasionally I am frustrated with not being able to add in an element where I want it, or cannot have complete control of the spacing. Moving elements up or down is easy enough, but if I want elements side-by-side, I struggle with making that happen.
I use Squarespace to give a landing page for people who might have questions about my business. As I'm starting out, this is the primary purpose, but as I grow I hope to expand how I use my website - to capture leads, and do certain business functions right from the website.
The user experience is great, which makes for a short learning curve. The design is on trend and does not resort to cheap wordpress style interfaces.
I think there should be more customization given to the blog posts' UI. The amazon product element could also use more options/features to customize the view of an amazon product (for example, you cannot move the amazon product title to the right of the product image). Same goes with the product feature. More customization needed.
I am trying to set up a small product recommendation website.
The customer service. If there is something I don't understand, Squarespace always endeavour to help. In the rare times I've had a problem, they have gone to great effort to fix it. They don't lose interest once you've paid.
Nothing obvious. There's little control over the mobile view, to my knowledge. But I haven't looked too much into ways around that or enquired with them about it. And the way their mobile view adapts is normally very good anyway.
The website looks a lot more stylish than my previous efforts. The lay-out is nice. The blog in particular is very easy to use.
In no particular order – stability, user interface, customer support, and mobile-friendly use of websites.
That the editing tools are not mobile accessible or available in mobile apps; that the performance of the SS interface becomes considerably compromised on complex pages; that sometimes design style edits do not implement across the website unilaterally depending on whether there was another prior theme which has not fully been erased.
I am solving the issue of making my work and processes accessible to my clients - and for my clients I am solving similar issues, with additional support for helping my clients strategize how to formulate their services in such a way to utilize the SS store in combination with their site.
Squarespace offers a great platform for designing your own website without needing complex design skills
There is nothing I dislike about squarespace.
I needed a website that was quick to build but had a lot of different functionality. I was able to build the website that I needed without any problems.
Squarespace is a great website builder if you're looking for an elegant site that's easy to put together. They have lots of beautiful templates and it is very easy to use. They also have great customer support.
There is very little I dislike about Squarespace. The only feature I find difficult sometimes is the drag and drop. It can sometimes be difficult to place something in the exact place you want, but with a few clicks it's almost always easy/possible. The other somewhat difficult part has been getting our domain name tied to squarespace, which was only complicated because we wanted to host our squarespace site on a subdomain of our actual website. The rest of the setup process was super easy!
I have used Squarespace to build both personal and business websites. I used squarespace for my wedding website and putting it together was a breeze! It looked really beautiful and I got lots of compliments on it. We use squarespace as well for our internal branding site at my company. I love that almost anyone - from our marketing team to our HR team, can easily go on and update things without having to do extensive training.
It looks beautiful and it's easy to use. I like the pre-made templates. I also like how you can add e-commerce to the website with ease. Lastly, I like how setting up SEO is easy.
There's a learning curve on how to use it initially. For people who don't have much website design experience, it takes a little bit to learn how to use it, but once you get a hang of it, it's easy. Sometimes the templates make it hard to customize it if you don't know html.
Making a beautiful website! It's easy to use, and the visitor of the website loves it too
Squarespace is very easy to use and the layouts look great. Very modern and professional. I have looked at other website building companies, and none of them look as professional to me as Squarespace does. They also have great customer service, offer a 7-day free trial, and you can usually find discounts for your subscrption.
Might not be super user friendly for someone not very experienced with computers. Sometimes I have trouble uploading pictures and have to upload them multiple times. And, unfortunately, I'm a Safari user, and Squarespace has had a bug in Safari for a long time, which they haven't been able to fix yet. It just randomly crashes from time to time. To avoid this being a problem for me, I save my updated often so that I don't lose them.
Allows me to have a website for my business. Also allows clients to contact me directly through the website. This feature was incredibly easy to set up, and I get most of my business inquiries this way. It's also a great place for me to list my pricing and portfolio.
Clean, simple design. Easy to use. Drag and drop is nice.
All Squarespace sites kinda look the same.
I can update it myself.
