Cognism Expert Review

Cognism’s pricing page is headed “transparent pricing, adapted to how your team uses data”. It contains no prices. Not a range, not a starting figure, not a per-credit rate — both tiers end in “talk to an expert”, and both add-ons are quoted too. Its own FAQ explains why: pricing is “personalised according to the product you need, your team composition and how you plan to use the platform.” That is a legitimate enterprise model. Calling the page transparent is a stretch.

  • What it is: A sales intelligence platform providing verified B2B contact data, intent signals and CRM enrichment.
  • Best for: Sales teams that need mobile-verified European contact data and can run a procurement process.
  • Pricing: Not published. Standard and Pro tiers, both including 5 licences. Verified July 2026.
  • The honest catch: You cannot shortlist Cognism on price, because there is no price to shortlist on.

What Is Cognism?

Cognism sells verified B2B contact and company data — emails, mobile numbers, job titles and career history — alongside contextual signals like hiring activity, funding rounds, mergers and job changes. It holds 4.5/5 on G2 and 4.7/5 on Capterra and cites more than 4,000 companies as customers.

Cognism’s pricing page showing Standard and Pro tiers, each stating five included licences and ending in a “talk to an expert” call to action, with no prices displayed.

Three products sit on the page: Sales Prospecting (the Standard and Pro tiers), CRM Enrichment, and Data-as-a-Service for API or bulk delivery. The latter two are add-ons on both tiers, and both are quoted rather than priced.

How Cognism Works

  • Two prospecting tiers, Standard and Pro, neither priced.
  • Five licences included on each.
  • Credits are pooled at account level, not per user.
  • One credit unlocks one contact, permanently.
  • CRM Enrichment and Data-as-a-Service are quoted add-ons.
  • SSO appears in the feature list, tier placement unstated in text.

Cognism Pricing

Captured from Cognism’s pricing page in July 2026. No monetary figure of any kind appears on it.

Bar chart showing what Cognism’s pricing page publishes: zero prices, five licences per tier, two named plans, and zero priced add-ons.

What actually decides your cost:

  • Nothing on the page will tell you. There is no starting price, no per-licence rate, no credit price and no range. Cognism’s FAQ confirms that pricing depends on “the product you need, your team composition and how you plan to use the platform”, with CRM Enrichment and Data-as-a-Service priced by “subscription structure, usage and delivery requirements”. Budget evaluation time accordingly.
  • The credit model is genuinely well designed, though. Cognism states that credits are pooled at account level rather than allocated per user, that one credit unlocks one contact, that viewing costs nothing and already-unlocked contacts cost nothing again, and that the same contact can be used “for prospecting, enrichment and API without additional cost”. Buy once, use everywhere. Against data vendors that charge separately per use case, that is a materially better arrangement.
  • Five licences on both tiers means the entry commitment is a team purchase. Neither Standard nor Pro is a single-seat product, so a solo founder or a two-person sales team is buying five licences regardless.
  • Pro is about mobile numbers and intent. Cognism’s FAQ describes Pro as adding intent data, on-demand mobile verification and enhanced dashboards. If your outbound motion depends on reaching people by phone, that is the tier — and the difference is worth establishing precisely, since it is the only stated distinction between the two.
  • Both add-ons apply to both tiers. CRM Enrichment and Data-as-a-Service are marked as add-ons against Standard and Pro alike, so neither tier bundles them. A full deployment is therefore three separate commercial conversations.
  • European mobile data is the differentiator. Cognism’s reputation rests on GDPR-compliant, phone-verified contact data with strong European coverage, which is where it tends to beat US-centric competitors. That is the reason to pay whatever the quote turns out to be.

Who Should Use Cognism

  • European outbound sales teams. The clearest case — verified mobile data with a compliance-first posture.
  • Teams of five or more. The licence floor makes it a team product by design.
  • Companies doing account-based selling. Intent data, hiring and funding signals, and AI persona building.
  • Organisations needing CRM hygiene. The CRM Enrichment add-on keeps records current automatically.

It fits poorly for small teams and solo sellers, given five included licences; for buyers who need to compare cost before a sales call; and for anyone wanting self-serve access, which is not offered.

Honest Pros and Cons

Strengths

  • Credits are pooled across the account, not siloed per user.
  • One credit unlocks a contact permanently — no repeat charges.
  • The same contact works across prospecting, enrichment and API at no extra cost.
  • Strong European mobile coverage with a compliance-first position.
  • 4.5/5 on G2 and 4.7/5 on Capterra across a large customer base.
  • Intent, hiring, funding and job-change signals built in.

Limitations

  • No prices published anywhere, despite the page’s heading.
  • Both tiers require a sales conversation.
  • Five licences included means no small-team entry point.
  • CRM Enrichment and Data-as-a-Service are unpriced add-ons.
  • The Standard-to-Pro difference is described only in general terms.
  • No free tier or self-serve trial is offered on the page.

Cognism Alternatives and How It Compares

  • ZoomInfo is the largest competitor, strongest on US data and similarly quote-only.
  • Apollo.io publishes its pricing and includes a free tier, with a broader sales engagement toolset.
  • RocketReach and Hunter are cheaper, narrower contact-finding tools with published rates.
  • Seamless.AI competes on real-time contact search.
  • Lusha and UpLead target smaller teams with self-serve plans.
  • Clearbit, now part of HubSpot, focuses on enrichment rather than prospecting.

For a broader survey, browse our sales intelligence directory.

The Verdict

Cognism’s product reputation is well earned. Verified mobile numbers with genuine European coverage and a compliance-first posture is the thing it is bought for, and it is a real differentiator against US-centric data vendors whose European records tend to be thin. Ratings of 4.5/5 on G2 and 4.7/5 on Capterra across 4,000-plus companies back that up, and the contextual signals — hiring, funding, mergers, job changes — are the right inputs for account-based selling.

The credit model deserves specific praise, because data vendors are usually where the worst metering lives. Cognism states that credits are pooled at account level rather than per user, that one credit unlocks one contact permanently, that viewing costs nothing and re-accessing an unlocked contact costs nothing, and that the same contact can be used across prospecting, CRM enrichment and the API at no additional charge. Buy once, use everywhere, across the whole team. That is the arrangement a buyer would design, and several competitors do the opposite.

Which makes the page’s framing the one thing to push back on. It is headed “transparent pricing” and contains no price of any kind — no rate per licence, no cost per credit, no starting figure, no range. Both tiers end in “talk to an expert” and both add-ons are quoted separately, so a full deployment involves three commercial conversations before you know what any of it costs. Cognism’s FAQ is honest about the reason, and bespoke pricing is entirely normal at this end of the market. But a page that publishes nothing is not transparent, and buyers should plan for a procurement process rather than a comparison exercise — with five licences as the minimum commitment on either tier.

FAQ

How much does Cognism cost?

Cognism does not publish pricing. Its page shows two Sales Prospecting tiers — Standard and Pro, each including five licences — and two add-ons, CRM Enrichment and Data-as-a-Service, with no figure attached to any of them. Its FAQ states that pricing is “personalised according to the product you need, your team composition and how you plan to use the platform”.

How do Cognism credits work?

One credit unlocks one contact. Credits are pooled at account level rather than allocated per user, so any team member can draw on the shared pool. Viewing records costs nothing, re-accessing an already-unlocked contact costs nothing, and the same unlocked contact can be used for prospecting, CRM enrichment and API access without further charge.

What is the difference between Cognism Standard and Pro?

Per Cognism’s FAQ, Standard is for teams needing reliable contact and company data for day-to-day prospecting, while Pro is for teams needing more advanced targeting and prioritisation — adding intent data, on-demand mobile verification and enhanced dashboards. Both tiers include five licences, and both treat CRM Enrichment and Data-as-a-Service as paid add-ons.

Does Cognism have a minimum number of users?

Effectively yes. Both published tiers state “5 licences included”, so the smallest purchase covers five people whether or not you need that many. There is no single-seat or small-team plan shown on the pricing page, and no free tier or self-serve trial is offered.

Is Cognism better than ZoomInfo?

They differ by geography more than capability. Cognism’s strength is verified mobile data and GDPR-compliant coverage in Europe; ZoomInfo’s is depth in the United States. Both are quote-only, so neither can be shortlisted on price. If your outbound targets are European and phone-based, Cognism is generally the stronger data set — the reverse tends to hold for North American prospecting.

"Excellent service "
What do you like best about Cognism?

Molly is always on hand to answer my questions and takes as much time as is needed to understand what I'm trying to achieve before making recommendations as to how to meet my objectives.

What do you dislike about Cognism?

The set-up takes time, but it's worth investing the time to get it right, so there's nothing that I'd actually classify as a dislike.

What problems is Cognism solving and how is that benefiting you?

The goals of working with Cognism are to improve brand recognition and gain business leads. As with any campaign, there is an element of this being a "numbers game" and therefore, whilst the number of leads hasn't been huge, I'm pleased with the results. More importantly, working with Cognism is delivering a return of the investment made.

There are some technical issues popping up here and there in the system, nothing major, but there is space for improvements.

Prospecting and lead generation were the two main problems Cognism helped us to resolve. We were able to reach out to a highly segmented group of people and test our messaging.

"Amazing lead generation platform!"
What do you like best about Cognism?

We have been using Cognism platform for new lead generation campaigns for few months. I see it as a powerful tool to reach out to B2B contacts. You can segment your campaigns by applying various filters (country, company size, sector etc.) and expect good results. It's a user-friendly platform even for non-IT people. Cognism allows us to schedule campaigns and run them automatically. It saves a massive amount of time. One more point to be mentioned is Cognism excellent customer service. Special thank you to Olivia Carden, our Customer Success Manager. She goes extra mile to make sure we utilise the best features of the platform and shares her experience for better campaign performance.

What do you like best about Cognism?

Cognism is a massive time saver for us. As a small business owner you have to wear multiple hats, marketing being one of those. Cognism allows us to generate targeted data and prospects and organise our marketing by scheduling emails over several weeks. Our account manager Molly is also really helpful in fine tuning campaigns and making suggestions on content and subject lines. The platform is also really user friendly.

What do you dislike about Cognism?

There is nothing I dislike about it. You do have to be organised and stay on top of the email responses which can come in quickly. This is not a bad thing!

What problems is Cognism solving and how is that benefiting you?

"The best emails outreach platform! "
What do you like best about Cognism?

The best thing about Cognism is the database with quality leads. Super intuitive process of setting up campaigns and tracking them in inbuild calendar helps to plan ahead!

What do you dislike about Cognism?

I have been using Cognism for 3 weeks and I haven't found any negative things so far.

What problems is Cognism solving and how is that benefiting you?

Before using Cognism, I used to spend 2-3 hours a day on email campaigns (generating leads, quality checking, setting up campaigns etc.). Now, it takes me 20-30 minutes a day just to double check if everything is working properly. Once campaigns are set up, I'm just replying to emails of potential clients ;)

"A fresh approach to sales "
What do you like best about Cognism?

What can I say about Cognism…..it’s a very cool way to approach your outbound sales function, with minimal risk. There are two cool things I really like about the system, the first being the ability to set campaigns running when you’re not in the office giving you the ability to react to campaign responses when you’re out on the road. Second (and most importantly) is Flo, our go to person at Cognism, Flo is absolutely fantastic and really makes the journey with this new tech really easy….awesome job Flo!!

What do you dislike about Cognism?

This isn’t a dislike, more of a ‘keep in mind’ whilst the system can run seamlessly in the background, you do need to be switched on when the responses start to come in and don’t leave them too long. Also, take the time to familiarise yourself with the tech, don’t be worried, take it slow and you’ll love it. However, with a Flo at your disposal to hold your hand, it’s all good.

What problems is Cognism solving and how is that benefiting you?

The number one reason I came to Cognism is as a new company I want to drive sales, however I didn’t want to invest in an expensive sales team (bodies in the office), so I was looking for something efficient and cool as I was adamant there must be another way to approach sales. Therefore, Cognism are driving our brand awareness up and getting us in front of people.

"Always supportive!"
What do you like best about Cognism?

It comes as little surprise that Cognism have an award winning customer service team. As with any marketing channel it's never a fine science and often incurs hurdles along the way however the team are always quick to react and resolve any issues. Constant communication and easy access to the team has enhanced the experience. On top of this Cognism are constantly evolving the platform to allow new technologies.

What do you dislike about Cognism?

I wouldn't say there's anything specific I dislike. We've incurred some hurdles along the way but accept that this is normal and teething problems often happen in a start up business that grows so quickly and trying to stay ahead of the curve with the latest technologies.

What problems is Cognism solving and how is that benefiting you?

I'm the only person within my organisation in a solely new business role so the platform allows me to cover a lot of ground quickly, qualify in/out prospects and A/B test for different industries and react quickly to recognised trends. It allows me to push on with smaller, niche, personalised campaigns while Cognism runs in the background doing a lot of the heavy lifting.

"Best Prospecting Tool I've Used"
What do you like best about Cognism?

It has everything you need and nothing you don't. Alice and Kris have helped us dial in our marketing efforts saving us valuable time and money. It automates what you need automated and still allows for a personal touch. Between the product and the human support, it's hard to find anything better.

What do you dislike about Cognism?

Nothing yet. So far it has been producing great leads that nicely supplement our manual efforts, making us much more efficient as a team.

What problems is Cognism solving and how is that benefiting you?

Cognism is getting us and our messaging in front of the right people while saving us time. We are getting leads and meetings and the email delivery rate is much higher than other platforms we've used in the past. The team behind Cognism really helps us get the most out of it and helps us adjust as needed.

"Fantastic product with great support and service!"
What do you like best about Cognism?

We have been using Cognism for outbound marketing/prospecting for the past few months and have found it an invaluable marketing solution for our business. It has allowed us to reach new customers quickly and get our industry leading email verification solution into the B2B market place. I have found the level of service and support from Cognism excellent and would highly recommend any business looking for a n outbound marketing solution to give Cognism a try.

What do you dislike about Cognism?

It would be nicer to be able to filter down into the prospects in more detail with more industry specific information.

What problems is Cognism solving and how is that benefiting you?

Cognism allowed us to to connect with a far larger B2B audience and reach more potential customers than any other marketing tool we have used. It has also allowed us to get direct contact with decision makers within our target market which has been very useful in acquiring new business.

"Automated sales process "
What do you like best about Cognism?

The team at Cognism is are very helpful and eager to do everything they can to make the process work for us. They are also on hand for support whenever I've had a question within minutes. We've increased out output ten fold and It won't take long for us to see a return on our investment.

What do you dislike about Cognism?

Being new to the software we sometimes find it hard to keep up with the response it generates. This isn't down to the programme however more to our lack of experience using their interface. I expect this to change as we continue to use the programme going forward.

What problems is Cognism solving and how is that benefiting you?

Lead sourcing and 1st,2nd,3rd approaches - it's basically eliminated the need for cold calling

"Great people, great product"
What do you like best about Cognism?

The level of service provided by Cognism and the quality of leads. All starting issues were resolved quickly and properly. The whole service team is extremely responsive and helpful and they are always genuinely looking to add value to their platform.

What do you dislike about Cognism?

As it is a relatively young and growing company, so expectedly there are a few bugs within the online platform - but this is nothing major and does not in any way impact usability. It would be nice to get more information and advanced search and filter capabilities within the campaign screen

What problems is Cognism solving and how is that benefiting you?

Cognism helps me find new leads for my B2B campaign that are actually useful. I have worked with other similar companies before and the quality of leads output by Cognism is far superior. This is in large part due to the detailed search functions when discovering leads with prospector. With the 5000 credits plan I can get at least one or two useful email conversations per day - I work in the manufacturing space, so finding the right kind of prospects can prove difficult with outbound. Cogism makes it so much easier.

"Has cut our prosepcting time down by half"
What do you like best about Cognism?

Absolutely incredible customer service far beyond what you would expect from a tech solution provider. Onboarding has been a delight, and Cognism even went as far as to invite us into the office to meet the team and be taught best practise.

What do you dislike about Cognism?

The outbound comms tools are limited (plain text emails), but that works fine for us as we use our own marketing automation software to nurture leads generated through Cognism anyway

What problems is Cognism solving and how is that benefiting you?

We're a startup (much like Cognism) and we're going through the teething problems of building a high-performing sales engine. Sourcing and contacting leads has frankly been a ball ache, and we were therefore delighted to discover Cognism (on a recommendation) takes all the pain out of this stage of the process. We're now getting through to decision makers and converting 20 demos a week (with a small sales team) - we wouldn't be doing this without them

"Powerful B2B Tool - Definitely Revolution not Evolution"
What do you like best about Cognism?

It joins up our client's Marketing and Sales efforts - allowing them to genuinely work with each other. Cognism's versatility produces data that can be used on major integrated campaigns down to one-off bespoke email shots. The Cognism team are a delight to work with - they are really knowledgeable and helpful.

What do you dislike about Cognism?

It's frightening how powerful it is! Apart from that the lack of integration with social media profiles.

What problems is Cognism solving and how is that benefiting you?

It helps grow our client's database (in an ethical post GDPR world) in a targeted and measured manner. We use it also as an insight tool.
