Easy cloud accounting
Remote and customised software. globally know and knowledged software. easy to use and fast learning.
little old version as compared to current market standard though not much.
day to day accounting.
For 5 years, I used Quickbooks for my accounting and invoicing. I avoided logging in to QB because it was difficult to navigate and just plain ugly. A friend told me about Freshbooks and I hesitantly made the switch. Doing my accounting through Quickbooks was like going to the dentist. Painful! Doing accounting with Freshbooks is like going to the Spa! I do not regret this decision! I love how easy it is to create invoices, the automatic expense capturing, and the dashboard. Plus, if you need help, the customer service is fanatical.
I cannot think of a downside. I want to move more processes to Freshbooks. I wish you had a mileage tracker so that I could track those within the platform as well.
One delightful benefit is the automated reminders that are sent to customers who have an unpaid account.
Simplicity, Its very easy to understand, unlike quick books.
Not being able to write cash recipes for clients.
It makes accounting fast and easy. My accountant can access my account easily. I can use it on the go . Easily take pictures of receipts and upload them.
The interface is very simple and it means I spend very little time logging time, listing expenses and invoicing.
It is not very clear how deposits are handled. I've managed to deal with this manually. I also wish it had an automatic way to calculate mileage expense. I like math, but not that much.
I send out invoices to clients monthly. I usually spend maybe 5 minutes each. It also makes tax time much easier
I love the ease of use. I'm not a skilled accountant at all and FreshBooks makes me feel like an accounting pro who knows what's up. It puts everything I need into one place: expenses, reports, invoices, clients, projects, timekeeping, the whole shebang. The best thing about Freshbooks is that it was easy to set up. Within a day I had my bank hooked up. Within a month I had all my bank transactions for the previous year imported into the tool and categorized perfectly. It's easy to access both at work and on-the go. I love the app, it's so helpful when one of my clients has a question and I don't have immediate access to my desktop. I also truly appreciate how easy it is to manage clients, project categories, etc.
With regard to expenses, I sometimes have to go through and re-categorize my expenses because they were inaccurately labeled. The expense tool can be a little glitchy sometimes. For example, when I change a vendor name or an expense category for an item or a group of similar items, I sometimes have to do it twice to make sure it's been done.
Disorganization and expense tracking are two of the biggest issues I've been able to address with FreshBooks. Aside from that I appreciate the recurring invoices as well as the online payments. It cuts down on the amount of time I have to spend on billing clients each month and it also cuts down on bank trips.
I really love the simplicity and clarity of the interface, which facilitates my being able to get what I need out of this accounting package.
There were a couple of updates that fooled me at first. And early on, the product didn't support an ad hoc invoice. But now it does.
Freshbooks has provided a way for me to easily track my time while working on various clients' projects and then to provide detailed invoices showing how I spent that time. I never get questions about my work, because the invoices show what I've done and the value I've provided. Freshbooks allows me to manage projects for two separate small businesses, one in technology consulting and one in jazz education and performance. It's flexible enough to handle the needs of both of these areas.
Easy to use & duplicate items. UI & Dashboard are excellent. Easy to archive/delete clients temporarily and re-add if needed. It's nice for also tracking if a client has opened the invoice or not.
The payment situations need a bit of tweaking. It sounds like they are making some upgrades there.
Easy and quick invoicing & payment system.
The best part about FreshBooks is the recurring invoice feature and the automated invoice reminders! I also love the proposals and ability to convert an accepted proposal to an invoice in one click!
I would like to see more data on the dashboard and/ or data presented differently... monthly revenue in a bar graph vs continue line graph; year over year comparison; view of top line vs bottom line sales with a check box. Also, I'd like to able to convert an accepted proposal to a recurring invoice, not just a one-time invoice.
Greatly simplifies my accounting and cuts my accounting time drastically.
Freshbooks makes it easy for my clients to pay online using their credit or debit cards. I love being able to send invoices and track my expenses and other income all in one place.
Freshbooks is not the most robust accounting software available, though the streamlined system works well for my small business.
Freshbooks is perfect for my business. The app makes it so easy to track expenditures when I'm traveling for work, and I'm able to provide my accountant with his own login access at tax time.
I love the time tracking and organizational abilities for project based works. This helps me easily keep track of projects I'm working on, how much work I've done to keep me on track with budget. The estimates and invoicing features work seamlessly together and give me a consistent look of professionalism for my clients.
I would like to see more functionality of the mobile app
FreshBooks helps me resolve payment issues. It gives me the opportunity to accept credit card payments, keeps track of taxes and other reporting features.
Freshbooks doesn't carry the cruft and legacy needs of Quickbooks' user interface. I feel like when it was designed they asked themselves "What do free-lancers and small businesses need most?" and then designed the user interface around those tasks. The built in payment integrations work great and I like that we still have the option of integrating with Square and Stripe if desired. The best feature has just been automating our invoicing so that payments are received in a more timely manner.
I don't like that it costs extra to save a credit card for a client on file to run each months invoices against. To be clear our clients can save credit cards online so they can review and pay invoices without having to go find a credit card but if our contract says they will be charged $XX.xx a month we have to pay extra to run that transaction automatically against a stored credit card.
The problem that we moved to Freshbooks to solve was streamlining our invoicing, expense tracking, and tax prep. We setup all invoices that are recurring to go out on a schedule without the need for anyone person to go do that task meaning invoices go out quicker and we get paid sooner as a result. The mobile app has made expense tracking much simpler since we can do it in the field now whereas before it was a long end of week process to input everything.
I love Freshbooks ease-of-use and variety of features. I use it for sending estimates/proposals to clients, tracking time on projects, generating invoices and collecting payments. With the connection to my business bank account, I can reconcile all income and expenses and easily run detailed reports on where money is coming from and going to. Once an invoice is generated (usually based on the time tracked against the project/client), it is sent to the client, along with any needed reminder emails. All-in-all, Freshbooks has significantly reduced the amount of time I spend on the "administrative" front, while making it easier for my clients to pay me.
No major dislikes. If I had to nit-pick, I wish there was an option to have invoice reminders sent "indefinitely" every X days until payment was received (rather than only have 3 scheduled reminder emails sent). It took some time for me to get a grasp on how bank reconciliation worked, but I can't be sure if that's a GUI issue, or just lack of experience on my end. A few times I have wished for immediately-available chat support (only phone and email available), but on the plus side, the support I have received has always been top-notch.
I switched to Freshbooks from another application because I wanted time-tracking integrated with invoice creation. That switch eventually led to taking payments online via credit cards. For me, not having to spend a lot of time on the administrative aspects of billing has been hugely valuable (not just financially, but also for my sanity).
I love the app - I can record expenses in real time and don't have to rely on my memory or going back through email receipts. I like being able to keep track of my time via the web or app so I can record my hours on the go.
It can be difficult to invoice clients based upon time entries. Sometimes the time tracker can be a little bit buggy. Rarely, I've been charged too much for the amount of clients I had in my account at a given time, but that issue seems to be resolved.
I love being able to send automatically generated professional looking invoices that my clients can pay immediately through the payment portal. It adds a layer of professionalism that I didn't have before I began using Freshbooks. Also like that they have the automatic payment reminders for folks who are delinquent - helps me not to have to continue following up and feeling like I'm bothering people.
I love how visual FreshBooks is and how attractive the entire interface is. I don't feel overwhelmed when I log in. I also love how the most important information is available right on the dashboard when I log in.
I hate that I have to contact support several times throughout the year to clear duplicate transactions from my bank.
I can run my design business through FreshBooks. I track my time, create estimates and invoices, create projects, set up recurring retainers, etc.

It's simple to track, pay and manage bills with FreshBooks. This tool automates invoicing process. Expense tracking and management is more effective with this tool.
It's a Fully-featured and very functional tool for simple accounting, billing and invoicing and I haven't encountered any downside while using it.

Well it's hard to say that I don't like something about this product, I think nothing, everything I like
Chiefly resolve financial schemes such as customer accounts or sub-accounts to deal with different issues
User friendly interface makes it easy to create invoices and send them to clients.
I find the time tracking too confusing to use. I wasn't able to clearly see a way to stay on having a running number of minutes billed per client.
Sending invoices to clients online and having them pay immediately online.
They offer a free trial so that you can try the software before making a financial commitment. The navigation around the interface is easy and dashboard user-friendly.
The mobile app is not fully functional and I can not access reports while on the go
Creating invoices is now a faster process and scheduling of payment pointers automatically. Freshbooks allow us to accept payments with credit and debit cards online.
