What don't I like? First, migrating sites to WP Engine could not be easier. Managing my sites is so easy. Backing up and restoring my site is easy. Setting up SSL is easy. All of these things are so much harder on all other web hosting platforms I have worked with.

I would like to see more tiers for accounts. jumping from 1 site for $30 to 10 sites for $100 is big, it would be good to see something in-between. It would also be nice to add more storage to your account without going to the next tier.

I am reducing the time I need to manage my Wordpress installs greatly with WP Engine. What takes me a minute or two with WP Engine would have taken me up towards an hour or sometimes more with the other hosting platforms I have used.

They offer extremely easy to manage WordPress installations. You don't have to worry about server setup, upgrades, etc. They also make it very easy to roll back to a previous version of the site if you make a catastrophic mistake.

Difficult to integrate into a modern development workflow.

WPE allows us to work nimbly with a lean team. It also allows our creators to rapidly publish content which increases productivity.

If we are not starting from scratch with WP Engine, we have an option to migrate our website completely from another hosting provider to WP Engine. And this migration process is very easy and automatic. We can get here many security features such as when there is a plugin which can harm the site it notifies us.

WP Engine is very costly as we can get cheaper hosting providers in the market of the same or less cost with exact specifications. So, I think they should have to work on their pricing structure.

Their support desk used to use an industry standard tool which was replaced with their own application. I preferred the legacy tool due to familiarity and user experience.

The ease of updating the wordpress core as well as php make staying up to date a low risk proposition. Restore points and the ability to download a snapshot make it easy to roll back if necessary.

Customer service is phenomenal. Functionality is broad but can be confusing at times. The customer service team is responsive and makes things very clear.

I think the ease-of-use is one of the best things about WP Engine. We can get our WordPress websites imported rather quickly and also create new websites from scratch with the WP Engine installation and management tools. Making updates to our WordPress core files is more streamlined in the WP Engine system compared to updating the software through package downloads. I like that we can get regular updates of activity regarding the use and security of our account.

The only thing that is not as good as standard hosting plans is the fact that the pricing for WP Engine is much higher than many of the basic level plans. For some WordPress installations that don't require lots of plugins or complex programming, I think that the page load differences aren't going to be that much improved in WP Engine.

WP Engine makes it easy for us to install and maintain our WordPress websites. We run lots of important websites for business through WP Engine and need to make sure that they are up and running and are performing as quick to load for visitors as possible. The uptime for WP Engine has been excellent and we often get great page loading speeds. We can also get extended metrics that allow us to analyze the effectiveness of our web page designs.

When I tried loading websites at other hosting accounts, they tended to not load WordPress pages as efficiently. WP Engine is great since the structure is designed especially for WordPress installations. We can also get insightful data on visitor activity and the performance of our pages. I think the best about WP Engine is that optimizes the performance of our WordPress websites. Using WP Engine has been surprisingly easy. WP Engine has given us a ton of piece of mind when it comes to our websites and landing pages. There is a CDN built right in for faster performance. The features the come with the hosting are fantastic and very useful. The chat support is always easy to reach and super helpful. This platform is fast and secure, which are critical when choosing a web host.

It would be nice to add more storage to your account without going to the next level. Adding SSL support can cause issues when at some point after installing it. Otherwise, not much to dislike.

The automated migration tool makes moving any site over to WP Engine easy as cake. Just install the plugin, follow the step by step instructions and your site is migrated in just a few minutes! And I can use that time to do other things now.

I wish I could see what sites have available updates to installed plugins, and the ability to keep notes on a client. We've already converted to WP Engine, but this would save us from needing to keep these notes some where else.

We were looking into a dedicated server environment when we came across WP Engine. It could be faster, if we knew how to manage and optimize a dedicated server for our Wordpress site, but we don't have the technical know-how to make that happen. WP Engine fits our current needs better. When the current setup becomes insufficient because our web traffic increases we will have to re-evaluate. The staging environment Being able to make a copy of our site on the fly and test our updates on a staging environment is what everyone who is serious about their site should have. When the updates are tested and approved by the executive team, then at a click of a button, the staging version of the site replaces the old version. The tech support team is very knowledgeable. They are also very willing to do some of the "repairs" and maintenance work themselves to make sure it is done well. Automated Backups Everyone says they do automated backups, but WP Engine's solution is very easy to use. They give you access to several weeks worth of daily backups that you can revert to at any time. Creating a backup before making an update is easy to do and therefore it is actually done.

Wait times on Live chat is usually around (15-20) minutes. It has been over 30 minutes a handful of times. Also their service has experience intermittent issues, especially in December 2015 with a couple of bad weeks. Downtime added up to 5 hours over the course of that month. It turned out that they had been victim to a DDoS attack and had been fighting to move their clients around to maintain service. All things considered, it was handled pretty well.

We had been hosting our site on a Virtual Private Server before and were looking to upgrade to a dedicated server. WP Engine offered a solution at a similar price point. While their solution means that our site is still hosted in a shared environment, the idea that if anything goes wrong, there is a strong team that can help is a big deal.

They have a very friendly dashboard to manage all your sites, with a couple of free tools that will help you on your sites. We use WPengine to deploy several stores and they are running correctly. We can administrate those all sites easily and fast. Our first stores were deployed very fast in a couple of clicks. It's ideal for startups that want to go online fast.

If you use the cheapest plans, you share servers with other customers. This can cause your performance to have a negative impact due to the traffic from the other sites. We had to change servers because of that and we will upgrade our plan to have dedicated servers to avoid that problem.

They solve the problem of managing servers to deploy WordPress/WooCommerce based stores. Now we can focus on delivering sites and not on managing an infrastructure.

The service WPEngine provide is very good. Whenever I have an issue there is also someone there to help me fix my issues. The integration into the websites I work on seem to be seemless, especially with the migration plugin. This make it incrediably easy.

I don't lilke how the layout on the website is constantly changing. Whenever I get used to the layout of the WPEngine site/dashboard, things seem to be moved around. I would be good if the dashboard block could be rearranged to fit my needs.

WPEngine's support is some of the best I've come across in the tech space, and I've had a very positive experience with their pre-sales team, looking to identify solutions that work for an agency hosting hundreds of sites. The hosting is solid and performs well, and I've never had a security breach on a site hosted with WPEngine.

Although WPEngine has definitely improved its advanced developer tools over time (such as remote Git deployment, MySQL access and WP CLI/SSH access), the infrastructure is very opinionated and makes more advanced deployment scenarios difficult. Notably, the speed of the SSH gateway is slow compared to competitors and git isn't available within the remote shell.

The only real problem is bandwidth with larger sites. For a smaller site it's an excellent tool. If you're getting under 100,000 page views a month you shouldn't have any problems with WP Engine.

WordPress is a fantastic content management solution, and for startups or small businesses, it's even a useful as a front-end solution. But that's also the rub: you're going to be locked into WordPress' formatting. So get a dedicated WordPress developer, not a general web developer.

I wish there was a cheaper plan than their current lowest plan for 29 dollars if I recall correctly

Working on a major news site that is the digital version of a print newspaper and dealing with multiple databases. (paper subscribers had more online access). Also we needed something that would be able to handle a lot of traffic and WP Engine was our solution and we are very happy. Also having a staging site and production site is very helpful.

WP Engine appears to have some internal caching that doesn't always clear easily and causing a delay in being able to see updates to the site's live.

The performance is a tad slow for woocommerce and they were never able to get it faster. They offer plans by the number of visits and without the ability to increase resources.
