ActiveCampaign is an integrated marketing tool that easily automates email marketing strategies and creates targeted campaigns. While automated marketing is a core component of the system, ActiveCampaign is a powerful tool that can do so much more. The software is known for being able to deliver a personalized experience across all customer touchpoints, track buyer behavior and preferences, customize send-outs, and gather data from every stage of the customer lifecycle, just to name a few.

All of the tools I used to use separately are now combined and integrated. The tools are easy to use and seamlessly integrate into our daily processes. We are better able to communicate with prospects and members of our community.
It can be a bit cumbersome to onboard new team members because it is a complex and comprehensive tool.
Improved communication with prospects, members and our community. Increased and improved tracking of prospects and deals.
The interface is easy to use, and the tool is very robust. As my business grows, I'll be able to use more features of ActiveCampaign.
It's the most expensive software I use. I know I'm paying for features I'm a long way from accessing.
Email automations, newsletters, landing pages
I love AC and I love the price even more! It is the best email marketing platform and you cannot beat the price.
I wish the features were more customizable in the email editing and the templates. I also cannot get the add video feature to work in an HTML email.
We use Active Campaign for email marketing and communications both internally and externally as well as email automimation.
Lots of cool features with an amazing interface.
An offer of half between 2500 and 5000 contacts is missing
Ease of automation.
AA provided us with all the needed features to automate our marketing activities withouth a need to use a doze of different tools to do the same. I LOVE the flexibility of monthly plans (so tired of annual and expensive commitments), good integrations.
Sometimes platform is too slow and automations could be more flexible (easier way moving people through automations, scheduling messages by the triggers inside the automation).
We are able to automate our lead nurturing, emaling, customer support, transactional emailing activities. Very nice Salesforce integration.
I like the versatility ActiveCampaign brings to us and our clients. It allows for extensive use when building out integrations and nurturing tracks where we want high-touch connections but also allows for some basic emails while still leveraging targeted contacts.
Sometimes there is SO much that can be done it is hard to get a client started with the basic features as they want to dive right in but then get a little lost.
We use ActiveCampaign to nurture lists that clients have. We also have used the personalized landing pages that are in beta for our site as well as have the chat feature installed. These are all great features to incorporate in our touchpoints with prospects and clients.
We absolutely love the ability for all the tags and run our entire website/marketplace providing access to things through tags and can really dive deep into segmentation based on activity and interest.
The editor for emails is not super easy for changing/editing the design and the "undo" doesn't work great.
Literally running our entire business (email list, access to paid content/purchases, lead magnets, automations based on their activity, deal flows, etc.). It's made our business much more organized and powerful with the segmentation and automations :)
The options you have to create really rich automations
I don't really get the login system (I got confused couple of times with this part)
Automation! Its easy to create campaigns. Tools are very intuitive, yet I think I need to learn it better, Im sure Im missing stuff.
The ability to create our own automations, manage multiple mailing lists and keep track of clients.
It can be a bit difficult to work out in the beginning but once you get the hang of it your sorted.
We offer a variety of services and have in the past ran different Facebook ads for different services. As a result I have multiple email lists for the various services. The Deals allow me to track all potential leads ensuring that no one gets missed out. We also have a current client list meaning any important updates can be emailed out with an accompanying text message.
First of all, I liked the onboarding process: the fact that I had specialists to explain things, answer my questions, and hold my hand during the migration period was a game-changer. I learned a lot and it saved me a lot of time and spared me the frustration that usually comes when using a new platform.
That when I came across some technical issues with some automation, it was very difficult to access a technical resource to support me. I had to pay an external resource, as the first availability of the support team was almost 2 weeks far ahead.
It saves me time and energy, as I use automation for onboarding new clients.
I love the automations, integration with Facebook custom audiences, and my open rates are through the roof, plus customer support is the best!
I wish the analytics side and reporting on open rates and click through rates was better
Able to communicate and follow up with my students and potential students
We use Active Campaign like a whole business system - from leads and sales to operations and fulfilment. Anyone who is just using Active Campaign as a CRM and autoresponder is really only using 10% of its capabilities. The dashboard and reporting is intuitive and effective. Highly recommend. We're an agency that recommend all our clients use it.
I really hesitate to say 'nothing' because I don't want Active Campaign to put up the price. Part of why it's such an effective package is because it doesn't charge Rolls Royce prices for all the features we're able to get out of it.
Like I said, it goes beyond automated follow up. We use to manage whole business divisions and have insight into how each of them connect. From the leads and sales in marketing to operations and fulfilment, managing the client's experience with us so that they stay engaged, connected and get the results our business can help them with.
Active Campaign seamlessly integrates with our WooCommerce store.
The reports at your fingertips are pretty basic and not customizable--unless you pay for the highest tier account (over $600/month). You can't have reports emailed to you periodically, either. Also, there is a learning curve when using automations, and when using the customer scoring system. We don't use the Deals feature as intended because it is designed for use by salespeople. We only use it in tracking customer "journeys." Finally, it can be pricey depending on the size of your customer base.
We love that this platform helps us connect with customers and automate product-specific contact information. Active Campaign is essential to us for personalizing our e-commerce customer experiences. We also use it to track our customer's journey over time. Since going to Active Campaign we have been able to simplify delivery of e-commerce virtual products and track customer experiences far more efficiently. The company has good customer support, though our best experiences were pre-planned. I've scheduled training times with their reps, who are friendly and helpful, and those training slots have been worth while. Their Study Hall instructional courses are basic, but worth doing if you are new to the platform.
The versatility. There is very little that I can't implement with this software. It's a little like a blank canvas for marketing. I can come up with a marketing plan and then feel confident that there is a way to use AC to implement that plan.
With vast capabilities comes a bit of a learning curve. There is a lot of time spent learning how to use the features, but it ends up being well spent. Also, I think the speed of the interface could be improved. In 2020, it seems a bit archaic to be waiting at all for screens to load when I am on a very fast connection.
I am using Active campaign to stay in touch with my audience and potential customers without it taking up a lot of my time. As my business grows, I am relying more and more on Active Campaign's automation features and its integration with many of the other software I use.
It's super easy to create campaigns and templates. We especially love the automation features. Great analytics too.
AC doesn't support enough product collections for our type of business (we have thousands of products, organized into many collections, and every item is unique). Managing lists is a bit complicated.
We use AC to communicate with our members, and also have a drip campaign to try and convert people into members.
I like how to the CRM is focused on sales and follow ups like a true sales CRM
The live chat feature doesn't expand when a user lands in the website. It's a nice way to grab attention and start conversations.
Helping stay in top of sales follow ups and customer tasks. Nurturing website visitors with email automation and utilising web tracking to follow up
Integration between Client Info/ CRM / Tracking
Slow time page load, i don't like the ver slowly load of information, interfaces and searches.
CRM, a control of each situation of my pipeline. Email marketing and live chat.
ActiveCampaign does all the tasks that we need in record time including tracking sales, email campaigns, excellent analytics. It was easy to learn using tutorials and one-on-one onboarding so we were able to transition from our current program to ActiveCampaign with ease. I like being able to manage everything from the dashboard and create the dashboard to suit my individual needs.
It is pricy, so you need to be committed and know your numbers if you're on a budget. I don't like the live chat as I don't feel it is as seamless as some other brands. Perhaps some get more with the site and the landing pages, but when we looked into them, it again seemed like it was trying too hard, I prefer to use it to do what it's really good at which is being a solid CRM. There are so many features that you need to potentially dedicate a full-time person to the task of AC management.
Tracking the sales has been really helpful, especially with failed payments using the deals area. It's also great how the builder works for emails because it is WYSIWIG we can make formatting changes with ease. The reporting is really thorough and we can download and analyze the data easily. The lists feature is helpful for managing different contact lists and we love the tagging for really drilling down to who should receive the email.
All-in-one solution that's easy to implement and learn.
Setup with Shopify was a bit difficult--had to ask for help. Also, the forms are hard to implement in Shopify. There isn't an easy install option, you need to know how to work with Shopify code.
Set up some automations to save some personnel hours. We've realized some profit from reviews and sales from having the automations in place. We also send email campaigns that generate sales and keep us top of customer's minds.
ActiveCampaign is straight-forward and easy to use. It is organized well. We particularly appreciate how our database can be managed and accessible. We know that there is far more that we can do with ActiveCampaign than we currently utilize.
I have managed our database on ActiveCampaign for two years + and have yet to find anything I do not like about it.
We use it to send mailings to our database and to sub-sets of our database. It is easy to keep the sub-sets separate, and to combine as needed for sending larger mailings.
