ActiveCampaign for Marketing Expert Review

ActiveCampaign’s $15 Starter plan limits each automation to five actions. On a platform bought specifically for automation, that is the number that decides your plan — a welcome sequence, a lead-scoring flow, or an abandoned-cart journey all run past five steps quickly. And the discount you get for accepting that limit shrinks as your list grows: at 25,000 contacts, Starter is displayed at $391 a month while Plus, which has no action cap at all, is $389.

  • What it is: A marketing automation platform combining email, automation, CRM, and now WhatsApp, built around a visual automation builder.
  • Best for: Businesses whose value comes from behavioural automation rather than from sending newsletters.
  • Pricing: Starter $15, Plus $49, Pro $79, Enterprise $145 per month at 1,000 contacts, billed annually. Verified July 2026.
  • The honest catch: Starter and Plus are single-user plans; three users arrive at Pro.

What Is ActiveCampaign?

ActiveCampaign’s reputation rests on its automation builder, which is genuinely one of the best in the category: branching conditions, goals, split tests, wait steps, and CRM actions arranged visually. Where most email tools bolt automation onto a newsletter product, ActiveCampaign is an automation product that also sends email.

ActiveCampaign’s pricing page headed “Autonomous marketing plans”, with Email, WhatsApp and Email + WhatsApp options, a contact selector set to 1,000, and four tiers: Enterprise $145, Pro $79, Plus $49 and Starter $15 per month billed annually.

The 2026 lineup adds two structural things. Channels are now chosen before plans — Email, WhatsApp, or Email + WhatsApp are separate price families — and “Active Intelligence”, the AI layer, appears on every tier but carries unstated limits on Starter and Plus. The page also offers a results guarantee: 30 days or your money back.

Prices are set by contact count through a selector, so every published figure describes a list size rather than a plan.

How ActiveCampaign Works

  • Priced by email contacts, chosen from a dropdown that runs from 1,000 to 150,000.
  • Automation actions are the Starter cap — five per automation, unlimited from Plus.
  • Users ladder late. One on Starter and Plus, three on Pro, five on Enterprise.
  • Landing pages start at Plus, not Starter.
  • Attribution and conversion tracking start at Pro.
  • WhatsApp is a separate plan family, priced independently of email.

ActiveCampaign Pricing

Captured from ActiveCampaign’s pricing page in July 2026 in US dollars, Email plans, billed annually, reading the contact selector at each size.

Contacts Starter Plus Pro Enterprise
1,000 $15 $49 $79 $145
5,000 $79 $145 $205 $375
10,000 $149 $189 $375 $589
25,000 $391 $389 $629 $879
50,000 $391 $609 $969 $1,169

Bar chart comparing ActiveCampaign Starter and Plus at three list sizes: $15 against $49 at 1,000 contacts, $149 against $189 at 10,000, and $391 against $389 at 25,000 where Starter becomes the more expensive plan.

What actually decides your plan:

  • Five actions per automation is a hard ceiling, not a soft one. A welcome series that sends three emails with waits between them has already spent its budget. If automation is why you are here — and it usually is — Starter is an email tool with a decorative automation feature, and Plus is the first plan that does the job.
  • The Starter discount evaporates with list size. At 1,000 contacts Plus costs 3.3 times more; at 10,000 it costs 27% more; at 25,000 the pricing table shows Starter at $391 against Plus at $389. Whatever the reason for that crossover, nobody with a 25,000-contact list should be choosing Starter over Plus on price.
  • Starter’s displayed price stops rising at $391. It reads $391 at 25,000, 50,000, and 75,000 contacts while every other tier keeps climbing. That may be a deliberate ceiling or a quirk of the selector; either way, confirm it with ActiveCampaign before building a budget on it.
  • Landing pages require Plus. Starter sends and automates but does not host pages, which matters if you were planning to run campaigns end to end.
  • One user until Pro. Both Starter and Plus are single-seat, so a second marketer means $79 at 1,000 contacts — a fivefold step from the headline.
  • Attribution is a Pro feature. Knowing which campaign produced revenue starts at $79, which is worth weighing if proving ROI is part of the job.

Who Should Use ActiveCampaign

  • Businesses running genuine behavioural automation. The clearest case, and where the builder outclasses most competitors.
  • Ecommerce operators. Deep store integrations plus abandoned-cart and post-purchase flows are a core strength.
  • Teams wanting email and CRM together. The built-in CRM removes an integration for smaller sales teams.
  • Companies adding WhatsApp to the mix, now a first-class channel rather than an integration.

It fits poorly for simple newsletters, where MailerLite or Kit cost far less; for large lists mailed infrequently, where Brevo’s send-based pricing is structurally cheaper; and for teams needing multiple seats early, since three users requires Pro.

Honest Pros and Cons

Strengths

  • The best automation builder in its price range. Conditions, goals, and split tests done properly.
  • A real CRM included, not a contact list relabelled.
  • Deep ecommerce integrations for cart recovery and post-purchase flows.
  • WhatsApp as a native channel rather than a bolt-on.
  • A 30-day results guarantee, unusual in the category.
  • Transparent contact-based pricing, published across the full list-size range.

Limitations

  • Five actions per automation on Starter, which undercuts the reason to buy it.
  • Starter’s value collapses as lists grow, and inverts against Plus at 25,000 contacts.
  • Single user on Starter and Plus.
  • No landing pages below Plus.
  • Attribution requires Pro at $79.
  • AI limits on Starter and Plus are unstated — “limits apply” without a number.

ActiveCampaign Alternatives and How It Compares

  • Mailchimp is better known and easier to start with, but weaker on automation logic at comparable prices.
  • Brevo charges by emails sent rather than contacts stored, which is structurally cheaper for large, rarely-mailed lists.
  • Klaviyo is the ecommerce specialist, stronger on store data and more expensive as profiles accumulate.
  • GetResponse and Omnisend occupy similar ground, the latter ecommerce-focused.
  • MailerLite and Kit are the cheaper options for creators and simple sending.
  • HubSpot Marketing Hub is the heavier all-in-one, with costs that escalate quickly.

For a broader survey, browse our marketing automation directory.

The Verdict

ActiveCampaign earns its reputation. The automation builder handles branching logic, goals, and conditional content with a fluency that most competitors at this price cannot match, the CRM is genuinely useful rather than nominal, and the ecommerce integrations make cart-recovery and post-purchase flows straightforward. If your marketing depends on what individual contacts do rather than on what you send everyone, it belongs on the shortlist.

Ignore the $15. Starter caps every automation at five actions, and five actions is not an automation — it is a short sequence. Three emails with a wait between each has consumed the allowance before you have added a condition or a goal. Since automation is the entire reason to prefer ActiveCampaign over a cheaper email tool, buying Starter means paying for the product’s reputation while being locked out of the thing that earned it. Plus at $49 is the honest entry price.

Then set the contact selector to your actual list size, because the plan gap behaves strangely as lists grow. At 1,000 contacts Plus costs 3.3 times Starter; at 10,000 it is only 27% more; and at 25,000 the table shows Starter at $391 against Plus at $389 — the entry plan costing more than the tier above it. Starter’s displayed price then holds at $391 while everything else climbs, which is odd enough that it is worth confirming directly with ActiveCampaign rather than planning around. The practical conclusion is unchanged either way: the cheapest plan is only meaningfully cheap on a small list, and on a small list its automation limit is exactly what you cannot afford.

FAQ

How much does ActiveCampaign cost?

Captured in July 2026 in US dollars for Email plans billed annually at 1,000 contacts: Starter $15, Plus $49, Pro $79, and Enterprise $145 per month. Prices rise with contact count — at 10,000 contacts they are $149, $189, $375, and $589. WhatsApp and Email + WhatsApp are separate plan families with their own pricing. A 30-day results guarantee applies.

What is the 5-action limit on ActiveCampaign Starter?

Starter permits five actions per automation, where an action is any step — sending an email, waiting, applying a tag, updating a field, or branching. A three-email welcome sequence with waits between the emails reaches the limit immediately. Every plan from Plus upward includes unlimited automation actions, which is why Plus is the realistic entry point for anyone buying ActiveCampaign for automation rather than for sending.

Why does Starter cost more than Plus at 25,000 contacts?

That is what ActiveCampaign’s own contact selector displays: $391 for Starter against $389 for Plus at 25,000 contacts. Starter’s shown price then remains $391 at 50,000 and 75,000 while the other tiers keep rising. It may be a deliberate ceiling on the entry plan or a quirk in the pricing table, so confirm it before budgeting — but at that list size there is no price argument for Starter over Plus in any case.

How many users does ActiveCampaign include?

Starter and Plus are both single-user plans. Pro includes three users and Enterprise five. That makes Pro the practical entry point for any marketing team rather than a solo operator, and at 1,000 contacts that is $79 per month against the $15 headline — worth establishing before you compare it against competitors that include several seats lower down.

Is ActiveCampaign better than Mailchimp?

For automation, clearly yes — the builder handles branching conditions, goals, and split tests with more depth than Mailchimp offers at comparable prices, and the built-in CRM is a real one. Mailchimp is easier to start with, better known, and has a free tier. Choose ActiveCampaign when behavioural automation drives revenue, and something simpler when you mostly need to send good-looking campaigns to a list.

What do you like best about ActiveCampaign for Marketing?

The CRM features and automation are great. Support has been really helpful.

What do you dislike about ActiveCampaign for Marketing?

The entire system revolves around email, but their email designer is clunky and frustrating to use and often emails "break" when sent, destroying formatting.

What problems is ActiveCampaign for Marketing solving and how is that benefiting you?

Automations free up time for me to do other tasks.

"Unfortunately not favorable"
What do you like best about ActiveCampaign for Marketing?

The possibilities. It has the capability to do a lot.

What do you dislike about ActiveCampaign for Marketing?

The support is awful. Especially for what their customer base is. They charge more than most, and their cuswtomer service won't get on a phone call with you to troubleshoot an issue. AI could do the job of their weak text and email support. Additionally, I've been waiting for them to improve their email composition platform for a long time, and it is STILL glitchy.

What problems is ActiveCampaign for Marketing solving and how is that benefiting you?

I use it primarily for automation emails and contact organization

What do you like best about ActiveCampaign for Marketing?

I do like the flexibility in the email builder and ability to hide/show some items on mobile/desktop

What do you dislike about ActiveCampaign for Marketing?

It's very buggy. Recent update turned a 2-minute process into a 10-minute process without the same result. Support is not always helpful.

"Active Campaign is much too complex for a small business owner. It is not intuitive."
What do you like best about ActiveCampaign for Marketing?

There is nothing I like about Active Campaign for Marketing. I only use it because I have a few automations that I paid someone to build and I don't want to duplicate them somewhere else. Even paying someone to build the automations cost more than it should have because it takes so long to build something that works. Even now, the automations only work part of the time...and no one in customer support can tell me why they are not working. "It's only a guess."

What do you dislike about ActiveCampaign for Marketing?

It is not intuitive at all. Trying to build automations is an exercise in frustration for anyone who is not technology saavy. Customer support is a a crap shoot. They send you videos to follow which provide no context for how the mistake was made or why it isn't working.

What problems is ActiveCampaign for Marketing solving and how is that benefiting you?

It is not a benefit to me. It streamlines my hiring process right now. It is useless to me for anything else.

"Good platform, bad customer service"
What do you like best about ActiveCampaign for Marketing?

ActiveCampaign is easy to use, the reporting features are good. Our needs are simple, so we don't get into the drip campaigns, empty cart automations, etc.

What do you dislike about ActiveCampaign for Marketing?

ActiveCampaign does not have enough customer service people. Don't get me wrong, the people are nice--when you finally get them. Whether you call, email, or chat online, service is sloooooooooooooooooooooooow. Unbelievably slow. I have been 35th in the queue and waited for hours, only to have the rep tell me they need to check into it--then I wait a couple of days for a response. GET MORE CSRs! Another issue, if you accidentally go over your max emails, they shut down your account and you have to wait at least 2 or 3 days for them to fix it. No automatic cutoff when you're uploading and hit your max, no warning, no chance to remove some emails--you're just LOCKED OUT until you FINALLY reach someone to let you back in. SERIOUSLY?!

"OK product, TERRIBLE customer service"
What do you like best about ActiveCampaign for Marketing?

The Active Campaign product provides an adequate solution for our nonprofit organization's needs. We created effective automation, synced with our sales platform funnels, and built attractive emails for constituent engagement.

What do you dislike about ActiveCampaign for Marketing?

Customer Service has gone MIA. Being a nonprofit organization, our end-of-year is extremely important for updates, fundraising, and vision casting. Unfortunately, we surpassed our contact quota and lost all campaign functionality. I reached out to support via chat to upgrade our account and was bounced to email after a pause in the chat. The email follow-up is abysmal! One email took 6 days to be replied to. I then called the support number listed on their website. No one answers. I've now left 3 messages and have not received a return call. It has been 3-4 weeks since our account lost all email functionality and 2 weeks since I started communicating with a support specialist. No resolution has been provided. Mind you, I just need to upgrade the contact limit and have asked basic questions about the upgrade over email with no reply or delayed reply. I attempted the chat again today but was bounced to an email when I had to step away for a meeting - even though I informed them of the meeting at the beginning of the chat session. When I attempted to pick up the chat, I communicated with another associate for a period of time only to be told that I would have to continue via email with the original support person. And thus we begin the vicious email cycle again... Being a nonprofit organization, we use Active Campaign to funnel interested parties through our organization's training/programming and to correspond with donors and constituents. The lack of replies and solutions by Active Campaign is impacting our programming and our ability to raise funds at one of the most important times of the year (Giving Tuesday, Year-End Giving) Having paid for the year in advance, I would argue Active Campaign removing all email functionality (even to the quota number we've paid for) and then failing to reply and provide an upgrade solution is theft.

What problems is ActiveCampaign for Marketing solving and how is that benefiting you?

Marketing to Sales automation - allowing us to automate our process from interest to training to activation of our nonprofit programming.

"Disappointing experience"
What do you like best about ActiveCampaign for Marketing?

I think if you set it up for a new business it can be decent

What do you dislike about ActiveCampaign for Marketing?

- UI is sometimes weird - All email marketing software reported when there was an error such as too many contacts. Activecampaign will just pretend its running automations instead - Maybe my experience is bad because I imported 20k+ emails and tried Activecampaign to filter out all inactive contacts. Sadly the feature the automation that was supposed to remove the inactive users removed anyone. I can send screenshots confirming it. This is t he first time I have been in this sort of situation.

None decided to quit it

"Too expensive"
What do you like best about ActiveCampaign for Marketing?

I like the automation opportunities and the it has all the standard options for creating good-looking emails for email marketing purposes

What do you dislike about ActiveCampaign for Marketing?

It is way too expensive and many settings are not easy and not intuitive to find. The media storage is the worst, there should be an icon in the main menu for media storage, where one can upload all images needed.

What problems is ActiveCampaign for Marketing solving and how is that benefiting you?

It helps to generate newsletter subscribers with the pop up and form builder, and it helps to create targeted email marketing.

"Does a lot of things but does it at a very mediocre level (master of none)"
What do you like best about ActiveCampaign for Marketing?

Has a lot of features around CRM and email marketing. Think of it as an all-in-one software tailored for small to medium sized businesses/ startups. It's weird because I used to recommend it to people until the stupidity of some of the features eventually got to me.

What do you dislike about ActiveCampaign for Marketing?

1. Unintuitive 2. Painfully slow 3. Basic features missing from lower tiered paid plans I want to smash my keyboard sometimes because it is so friggin slow. The worst part is setting automations... Some of the logic for setting automations and email campaigns is incredibly dumb. It's as if they used could only set basic linear logic. If you've used Keap (infusionsoft) or Mailchimp before you'll realize how painfully dumb they made the automation builder. There are some features like 1:1 email sending that is only available in upper tiers. This part I'm okay with because I get it, your trying to make users upgrade. I'm at the point where I might switch and just buy two products, one for CRM and one for email marketing because Active Campaign is so frustrating.

What problems is ActiveCampaign for Marketing solving and how is that benefiting you?

It gives me an all-in-one package so I don't have to use a CRM and automated email marketing system separately.

"Disappointing experience due to outages and bugs"
What do you like best about ActiveCampaign for Marketing?

Active Campaign has a really powerful set of features that can do a lot if you have the time and tech savvy to use them. In particular, they have amazing segmenting and automation features that allow you to get really granular in targeting subscribers with personalized content. This can save you a ton of time and creates an outwardly smooth and seamless experience for your subscribers. Their contact management system is also great as it's based on the individual email address, so it's easy to keep track of each subscriber's history, and you can have them on multiple lists without creating duplicate contacts (or accidental duplicate messages in their inbox). They only charge for active contacts, so you don't have to delete older contacts to keep from paying for them.

What do you dislike about ActiveCampaign for Marketing?

As soon as I moved my list over to AC from another platform, I experienced a significant drop in engagement and deliverability. Their salesperson had assured me this shouldn't be a concern due to the size of my list, but the damage far exceeded what I have experienced with other platforms over the years. That said, my biggest complaints in the last 18 months of using AC relate to their campaign editor/ designer, and their customer service. I'm very disappointed with the frequency of issues that arise in the course of normal, routine use of their platform. I have 5+ years of professional email marketing experience for my own and other businesses, so I am quite capable as a user. It seems like every few months they have an outage or some bug arises with their email editor, rendering it unusable, often when I have a time-sensitive campaign to send. Issues range from the editor failing to load at all, to becoming unresponsive and unable to save edits in the middle of creating a campaign, to images not loading within the editor, to font styles or other formatting changes failing to apply, so that what you see in the editor is not what shows up when your campaign hits the inbox. This has been a huge time waster and I have lost out on sales due to being unable to send during a specific window of time. The issues persist even after they upgraded their email designer. Though they have live chat support, I haven't had much help from their Customer Service team. It usually takes hours to get a response, and a couple of times I only heard back after contacting them publically on Twitter. They are short on explanations or solutions to the issues I'm encountering. Instead of taking responsibility for their buggy platform they just tell me to sign out and sign back in, clear my browser cache, or try a different device. Most of the time that has not worked and it's been a waiting game for the bug to spontaneously resolve behind the scenes.

What problems is ActiveCampaign for Marketing solving and how is that benefiting you?

Their email marketing automation meets the needs of my online business for nurturing leads, hosting virtual events, and selling my services without having to manually manage every email campaign. Their automations save time and increase the effectiveness of my email marketing by allowing me to precisely target the subscribers I want to reach with a personalized campaign.

"Deceptive pricing for enterprise customers - stay away"
What do you like best about ActiveCampaign for Marketing?

Overall, AC is not a bad product. It gets the job done for what we need it for. Are there other products out there that can do similar things? Yes. It used to be a good value for the money you pay. Things have gone downhill the last 12 months.

What do you dislike about ActiveCampaign for Marketing?

Their management is unethical, and if you are an enterprise customer looking for a solution, STAY AWAY. Management has increased my "price per contact" 4 times in 12 months. It's honestly a joke at this point. I've been with the company for years and have been adding more contacts. Every time I upgrade my contact plan my "price per contact" increases. It's working backwards. All other similar platforms have a price break based on increasing contact volume. It's frustrating, and they are not helpful after chatting with support. I will be looking for a new CRM to manage our company workflows.

What problems is ActiveCampaign for Marketing solving and how is that benefiting you?

We use it as a CRM for our business.

"Sadly a very bad experience"
What do you like best about ActiveCampaign for Marketing?

We started using Active Camapign few yeras back and it was our main platform for e-mail marketing. Over the years they added more functions but sadly, these functions were the demise of this company. These functions didn't function :) And no one could explain why - there were inbalances in the numbers, they weren't adding up for automations and lists and when asked, no one was willing to help and the responses were general without actually helping and seemed like just prolonging the conversations.

What do you dislike about ActiveCampaign for Marketing?

We paid a lot of money for their product over the years, tried to get in touch with them, even had a call but again - no actual help was given to resolve our issues. We were forced to switch to another platform in the end.

What problems is ActiveCampaign for Marketing solving and how is that benefiting you?

They didn't solve any issues.

"Looking for other options"
What do you like best about ActiveCampaign for Marketing?

Honestly, it's very difficult to find a positive about AC versus all of the other mailing platforms I've used before. If anything, it allows the basics for mail

What do you dislike about ActiveCampaign for Marketing?

So much. The slow UI, the unresponsive servers, the lackluster support, the outdated editor, the limited integration options, the limited automation actions, etc

What problems is ActiveCampaign for Marketing solving and how is that benefiting you?

It's not solving much. If anything, our team regularly fights with the system and has several ham-fisted processes set up to get what we need from the system.

"Horrible customer service, they don't listen."
What do you like best about ActiveCampaign for Marketing?

I would have rather signed up with another email place

What do you dislike about ActiveCampaign for Marketing?

we had issues with billing and it took almost 6 months to resolve.

What problems is ActiveCampaign for Marketing solving and how is that benefiting you?

I can use it to send emails but the designer is regularly glitchy and I am not very happy with the way it glitches out all the time. Very disappointed and time consuming

"Not great for B2C marketing"
What do you like best about ActiveCampaign for Marketing?

Active campaigns ability to easily customize emails, bring in content, and follow up in campaigns was easy to manage. Its tools and online resources make it easy to learn and something that many could use.

What do you dislike about ActiveCampaign for Marketing?

The largest downside to ActiveCampaign was the cost for sending daily emails to DTC type of campaigns. It is more focused on B2B type of campaigns and does not have an easy transition to other platforms.

What problems is ActiveCampaign for Marketing solving and how is that benefiting you?

It was intended to send promotional material like coupons and reminders about active promos. It would be okay to send to companies, but it became costly when sending to 100k individual users weekly.

"Customer Support is absolutely atrocious. I have received 0 support."
What do you like best about ActiveCampaign for Marketing?

The software is okay. I don't really want to write anymore because I am here to write a negative review. Not a positive one.

What do you dislike about ActiveCampaign for Marketing?

Customer service is absolutely terrible. I spoke to a customer support agent called Chanella J. I don't know if it's her real name. But she basically wrote one generic response. Then I replied. Then she said I didn't respond so she closed the support ticket. I still have an issue with the software. I don't think the company vetted their personnel carefully. Because this is just about the worst customer service I've ever received. And this is over the span of multiple days since I submitted the support ticket. I still have a problem right now. I can't stress this enough, I've been a customer for YEARS now and I expected more.

What problems is ActiveCampaign for Marketing solving and how is that benefiting you?

Again, I'm not here to write a positive review. I'm here to write a negative one to get the company's attention. Because otherwise, it's impossible to get proper support unless I write a scathing review. The customer support is absolutely atrocious especially the support I received from Customer service agent Chanella J who did not take a single moment to read my support ticket request.

"Active Campaign misses the most important basic feature unless you pay a fortune"
What do you like best about ActiveCampaign for Marketing?

The mailing lists, the tags, and the editor are all fine. The automation is also pretty easy to create, and they work perfectly. Actually, I used to like AC a lot as I have been using it for two years

What do you dislike about ActiveCampaign for Marketing?

Just out of the blue, they blocked all possibilities to link AC with woowommerce or WordPress. The most important thing you want is that when people buy something from you, they are automatically registered in AC so you can contact them later. It is the basics of every e-mail marketing. This simple action is now blocked in every way unless you pay an extremely high price to either AC or to Zapier . For every small or medium business, this isn't affordable. So now we have to switch to another e-mail marketing tool and re-program everything. If you want to start as a new entrepreneur, don't do it! You will be sorry.

What problems is ActiveCampaign for Marketing solving and how is that benefiting you?

The solution they come up with is, of course, to upgrade. This means doubling the cost! But it worked for two years using a straightforward plug-in, which they now blocked. Since we are also at the limit of our contacts, we would need to upgrade from 948 dollars per year to 2748 dollars per year, just to have this connection which, I think, is basic to every e-mail marketing tool (getting your client's email addresses into AC since you already did so much work and spent so much money in getting this client!!) Oh yes, another solution: export them manually from woocommerce and import them into AC .. nice!

"Disappointing Support When It Goes Wrong"
What do you like best about ActiveCampaign for Marketing?

The whole platform is so easy to use, especially when compared to others that are as powerful. I moved across from Confusionsoft a number of years ago and have never looked back.

What do you dislike about ActiveCampaign for Marketing?

Recently my automations have stopped working on two occasions. Both times it's taken support days to resolve, meaning hundreds of emails haven't been sent, and leads have been marked as inactive and unsubscribed.

What problems is ActiveCampaign for Marketing solving and how is that benefiting you?

I've automated my lead generation, lead nurture, most of my sales process, onboarding and service delivery using ActiveCampaign. It's the keystone in my business.

"zero customer support - platform has bugs doesnt work, waste of time."
What do you like best about ActiveCampaign for Marketing?

Right now the service is useless and a waste of time trying to reach or deal with support, it is currently a drag on our buisiness .. since we have to beg for a response.

What do you dislike about ActiveCampaign for Marketing?

An account that we have had for 2 years (with 0 issues) will suddenly not send emails, making it useless. no proper response from support for either refund or to fix the bug.

What problems is ActiveCampaign for Marketing solving and how is that benefiting you?

the platform is currently not working for us so it is causing us problems and solving zero issues for us.

"The worst CRM I've ever used"
What do you like best about ActiveCampaign for Marketing?

I really don't like anything about it - it's clunky, reporting is awful, it is confusing to navigate.

What do you dislike about ActiveCampaign for Marketing?

I think the most frustrating this is the reporting. It doesn't come with standard sales reports like Closed Won by Rep, per <period>. Custom reporting is not intuitive and breaks often. Overall, I would not ever recommend this product.

What problems is ActiveCampaign for Marketing solving and how is that benefiting you?

It keeps all of our leads in one place and does marketing automation for them.

"Horrible Support, Poor Email Deliverability, Lacks Many Obvious Features"
What do you like best about ActiveCampaign for Marketing?

Signing up was easy. ActiveCampaign sales team was hyperactive in getting us to sign up for the product.

What do you dislike about ActiveCampaign for Marketing?

EVERYTHING post signing up. Support - Horrible, no response for 7 days straight even on Enterprise plan. SPAM Email Servers - Lowest delivery rates ever seen with any marketing automation tool provider Workflow Limitations - Very limited options, No ability to run batch updates Reporting - Can't pull simple user reports even on Enterprise. All in all, worst product ever.

What problems is ActiveCampaign for Marketing solving and how is that benefiting you?

We signed up to improve our client and prospect experience through Email campaigns.

"Most Frustrating Software Ever"
What do you like best about ActiveCampaign for Marketing?

Does it send emails? Yes. Does it have live chat? Yes. Do they have a support team? Yes. Is any of it easy to use or helpful? Never. ActiveCampaign falls far behind similarly priced competitors.

What do you dislike about ActiveCampaign for Marketing?

The phrase I say more than any other when working with ActiveCampaign is "This should be easy." Unfortunately, that has yet to prove accurate. Over and over, I get strange quirks and operational choices that make simple things significantly more challenging than they should be. Want to update a contact field based on what the customer put in another field? Export it, perform that step in Excel then reimport that file. Want to send a test email to the same coworker you send every test to? Type their email into the field for the 57th time today. Want to set a default font for every block across your entire instance? No. And to top it all off, in just over a year, I have experienced major bugs (completed email that will not save no matter how many times I click save, entire sections of the platform simply not loading for multiple days) multiple times. And each one has been met with shrugs. Our shared IP was appearing on a few spam blocklists. We emailed support simply to request that they take any reasonable steps to remedy this. Weeks later, our shared IP is still on the same blocklists, but I did get a 5 paragraph lecture from a deliverability specialist about why being on a spam blocklist isn't a problem. To add onto the problems, support frequently recommends you provide feature suggestions in their ideas forum. Almost every time I got this suggestion, I would visit the ideas forum only to find that multiple other users had submitted the exact same request years ago. A great example is the live chat support button. It blocks a portion of the interface on every single screen. In some places, this makes features unusable. I brought up the issue with support then go to make a suggestion on the ideas forum. I find multiple ideas reiterating my exact problem dating back at least three years. To date, the dev team has moved the button slightly which fixes the problem in certain cases, but does nothing to address the underlying problem: an unclosable, unmovable button blocking the interface!

What problems is ActiveCampaign for Marketing solving and how is that benefiting you?

ActiveCampaign has automations that will send emails around the time you want them to. It also has a native live chat system. Neither is intuitive or easy to use, and both are filled with bewildering bugs.
