The most helpfule this about Airtable is the relational Databases. It helps me connect my data while I am working with it.
The one thisng I wish is that there was a way to do a realtional connection between different bases. That would help with my different businesses.
Airtahble allows me to connect datapoints within my system. This is very difficult to do int Excel. I likecreateing forms and the submission going directly into one on the databases.
You can build almost everything with it. Simplicity. Very easy to start working with it. Very robust. Clean, beautiful design. Great for prototyping complex apps before you create them.

There is a bit of a learning curve with Airtable, and as it isn't as established as Excel or Google Sheets, there isn't so much information available online from users to help create projects. Additionally, it can mean that a company may have to resort to using a bespoke consultant.
Airtable is helping me to present data to my teammates in a way they can understand. It also helps us to share processes and projects with less room for errors.

Easy to use, user friendly even for non developers - we are able to make complex dashboards that do not require code yet uses many of the similar logic as spreadsheets. Low barrier to entry.
Can be costly after a certain scale as it charges per user. Can be overwhelming when you first start using it but it doesn't take too long to figure out. Highly recommend.

It's super easy to get started -- if you can use Excel / GSheets, it's a pretty easy transition. Automations and integrations (e.g. Zapier) make it very powerful. There's also an active community for support, creating scripts and plugins, which I have used a lot to copy and adapt code snippets (even though I have no coding background).
I'd love to see more ways to customise Airtable as a "front-end" experience but I know there are other tools for that -- e.g. Pory.io, Softr, and maybe Bubble. So that's more of a wishlist item.

I have a domain forward set up to an airtable form page, which I use daily to log info and records from my work. This then goes into a great database where I can analyse the data in detail later on, or create a useful dashboard summary.

We are a Homeowner Association and we use it to track multiple inquiries from residents as well as responses, to record the details, status and costs of all repair projects and to keep resident and contractor contact information. We also use it to track long-term (reserve) items and their useful life, as well as the planned costs for such.

Forms can be clunky - it's hard to make them look like your organisation's other things.

For context - I use Airtable with clients. Usually, small non-profits who rely on spreadsheets to manage their mission. It's the flexibility to put in ANY spreadsheet quickly and then start improving things in front of their eyes. Automations, reminders, confirmation emails etc.
Email communications. The automations are good but the format options are restrictive and the 100-a-day volume limit is difficult. It usually means another app is needed for that - hence another subscription and more cost
It helps me move clients from spreadsheets to automated processes quickly and without a step an angst ridden learning curve about client journeys or data structures.
I'm able to create an intake form and also a table with fields where I can add information to. Unlike Google docs which will only add the information from the form.
