That I can track hours real-time and generate an invoice with details easily. My business Achilles Heal is invoicing. I much rather do the work than work on getting paid for it (weird, huh... certainly not a good business practice). Freshbooks allows me to easily track my time AND then I can automate the generation of invoices so I don't forget to send it and then GET PAID.

Wish I could have a few more clients active without a big jump in monthly fee (another tier perhaps?). But I have been able to manage and make it a cost-effective investment for my business.

Generating an invoice without a lot of time spent. Money comes in sooner as I don't have to backtrack for details. It's there! What a time-saver and money-maker!

Freshbooks is better than QuickBooks because it's much easier to use. It is simple to sell additional projects and bill completed tasks. It makes invoicing an enjoyable process. It's got many great functions. It is another common practice, for example, to give invoices to clients in PDF. To see which invoices remain unpaid, the customer gets an invoice. For start-up businesses, an important characteristic to have is the acumen to make money.

It would be nice to be able to search in the notes and insert words in the boxes instead of doing so manually (anyone who has used these will know what I mean).

Invoice creation and invoice status updates are both very fast. Invoice search function is indeed!

I have got rid of making new accounts for the customers, easily I enter the payments and the receipts against those clients. It is equipped with so many amazing features that I remain up to date about the progress of my employees working on a certain project as I track the changes and the project progress.

Freshbooks has a special place in my everyday workings. This tool is quite helpful for me to manage my daily expense and to have a detailed insight of the entire working process. I feel more confident to coordinate with my team members because I easily discuss the important issues with them and the credit goes to FreshBooks, because it provides me detailed reporting. Now to handle multiple projects at a time is very easy.

The main issue I have found in this tool is that it is limited in its integrations and did not provide any option to add sticky notes especially in the project management feature because every time I cannot call the concerned person in your room, thus I feel that in terms of coordination on small level (employees) its not that much effective.

It has brought three major departments of my organization in a loop,i-e, Finance, Marketing, projects. Further this application is all in all in managing our precious time, especially when we are working as a team. This tool is very easy to operate and it has very simple interface as well. I am very contented to use this tool.

The account aging feature is excellent, allows you to quickly understand which invoices are overdue and can send follow-up notifications manually or automatically. I have sent thousands of invoices, but I have never had any problems or lost any emails. The user interface is beautiful, very easy to navigate and use.

The mobile application is good, but does not work well for some functions. If you have a lot of customers or want some of your other options, it can get expensive quickly. The billing aspect of the software is not as developed as the billing and time tracking aspects.

For the last 2 years, Freshbooks has been our main billing program. We use it to bill single projects and monthly recurring customers. We chose Freshbooks because it provides an easy way to bill customers and is one of the few billing platforms that offers regular payments. They recently updated the interface, which needs to be updated. But in general, areas that were missing a few years ago have been solved (old XML API, old interfaces, faulty mobile applications), so I don't have many complaints. If you are a person like me and don't want to be an accountant guide, but just want to run your business, then this is a good solution.

I often have to change my terms depending on the customer and the job. This makes it very difficult to keep everything organized.

EASE, I feel that both the mobile and desk top app is easy to use. I have used others and some where confusing.. I don't feel like freshbooks is confusing at all.

Reports that are delivered... I would like to be able to just have a year summary of the Profit and Loss... for tax season. I know that I can link my accountant to my system but, I would like to be able to export a one sheet summary of the P/L statement.

I love the simplicity and user-friendliness that Freshbooks gives me. As a small business owner, I need to be able to wear many hats - including organizing and tracking my time, expenses, invoices and payments. Freshbooks helps me to do it all with relative simplicity and ease! Even, dare I say, joy? Also their customer service team really is fantastic - sometimes I just want to pick up the phone to talk through an issue. A real, nice person answers the phone and they really take the time to figure out what's going on and help me to find a solution that will work. Love that in this day in age of email and chat only customer support!

The prices have increased since I started using it, and some things don't sync as well as I would like them to. Also I would love to be able to take a picture of a receipt and have it be automatically digitized into content. Right now you can take photos of receipt but still have to manually enter the cost and categories.

Freshbooks came highly recommended to me by my accountant. There is hardly a learning curve and pretty easy to link accounts and create categories for expenses. The BEST feature for me is the ability to time track my client visits for billing.

Nothing to dislike but I have had a few issues with Freshbooks mobile. Their customer service team resolved my issues quickly.

The PayPal integration is not very user friendly. I would like clients to be able to pay me via PayPal but I couldn't figure out how to get it working.

There are a few weird quarks and usability issues in the reconciliation accounting, but I have voiced them to the support team and they have brought it to the attention of their developers.

Freshbooks allows me to easily track time, apply it to an invoice and then track my income and expenses. It's all in one place and saves me so much time and effort on the back end. As a solo-preneuer, it is a game changer.

It's very easy to put together an invoice, add receipts (and modify old ones when I forget the pic of it), and to add income that's not invoice based.

I wish I had access to more of the reports on the base tier. Since it's not a free tier, I was hoping to have more access to things.

Taxes are easy for me to do in March and easy for me to keep up with the documentation for it during the year (expenses in particular) so that it's easier at tax time.

The user interface is the most intuitive that I've ever used. Enjoyable user experience both on desktop and mobile. The mobile app makes expense tracking a breeze.

There's really not a lot to dislike. It has been a perfect fit for our agency.

The Reports functionality is something I didn't expect to use that much but it has been a huge help. Time tracking, Expense/Revenue by client, P&L. These easy to process reports give actionable insight for the small business owner. That feature has been a nice surprise.

The connectivity to a full-featured accounting program was limited for us. We "upgraded" to Xero for bookkeeping, but still used Freshbooks for invoicing and collections, and wish we had a little more seamless system.

<10 minutes a month to bill all clients! Our clients love invoice history, payment viewing, and credit card/ACH payments.

The customer service is honestly next level. I love that when I call, I always have someone who is willing to answer any question I have! That's #1 priority for me, is someone can teach me how to use this platform, so I don't feel like I'm confused on what I'm doing, especially when it comes to invoicing clients on a daily basis. I also love that I have an account manager for my company, so I can call someone when I have issues.

I'm not crazy about the lack of communication between Freshbooks and WePay.When I've had problems with WePay, I feel like Freshbooks doesn't understand exactly how to communicate that with Freshbooks. I had an issue with a client charging back thousands of dollars, and calling Freshbooks, they were unable to tell me what the order of operations should be and what I needed to do to recoup the money, I ended up doing a lot of back and forth. I've gotten a decrease in credit card fees, and saving money is problem #1 it solves for credit card fees. That's the biggest one for me. Increased credit limits are another reason why I'm excited about this, because I do have a lot of money to float each month to contractors and sometimes the clients take their time to pay!

I can quickly create and track invoices. It keeps my bookkeeping more organized and it allows me to collect my money in a timely manner. By increasing my cash flow it allows me to concentrate on business growth and deal with the other day to day problems a small business faces. I am highly impressed with the customer service personnel of Freshbooks. Other companies will force you to hold for long periods of time. Freshbooks is very good about answering the phone and answering questions with very strong follow-up actions.

I would like the ability to do a dollar off amount in the discount field. Also, we desperately need a "Service Address" field. If you could make that a feature it would help as we do a lot of property management jobs and they require this on the invoice. They also prefer to have this information at the top of the invoice so that they can quickly locate the information and charge our services to the right property. I also keep having repeated problems with the connections to my bank. The expenses are not updating.

Able to quickly create and track status of invoices. The enhanced search features recently added to the invoice search is a very good thing! I am able to tell who has paid and who has not paid which affects the bottom line of my business. I can also easily collect money via ACH which is important as it is less expensive than using credit cards. This puts more money in my pocket rather than the pocket of the bank.

FreshBooks is simple to use. I really like being able to create estimates, invoices, track my time and expenses all in one place. Plus if I ever have a question they are incredible at getting back to me.

I am not sure if I simply do not know how to do this but I would like my price per hour to stay for each client. I charge different hourly prices to some of my clients. I haven't asked FreshBooks about that.

I can use the reports to submit to my CPA for my taxes and that is great. I think make more money and save time because everything is so easy to use.

FreshBooks is extremely user-friendly and makes it very simple for me to maintain time-keeping across a variety of clients and projects.

I dislike the limited utility of FreshBooks expense system. If I'm uploading images of my receipts, I find it really cumbersome that I can't combine all the images onto my invoices to send out as PDFs. That should be fixed.

FreshBooks ensures I'm keeping accurate and timely tracking of my work and the invoice creation process ensures I spend more time working and less time doing bookkeeping.
