HostGator has a wide range of hosting services for web development, email and more. For those that don't want anything too complicated yet still have adequate services for almost every basic project, HostGator is a great choice.

HG is more of a consumer-facing company with products for small businesses. Their tech support isn't always up to speed on the technologies we're using for specific websites.

We have been able to use HG for basic websites and digital media projects. They have allowed us to get projects up fast and at a relatively low cost. They have provided good uptime and have friendly people that we've dealt with there.

HostGator is user-friendly and has relatively straightforward instructions for setting things up. We can quickly add a domain from a third-party domain registrar to use with our HostGator hosting account. The customer service was easy to get a hold of and helped to walk us through a few things we couldn't figure out. I especially like that HostGator gives us simple tools to manage several features in our hosting account, like email accounts and file transfers.

Though I like HostGator overall, the web page loading times are typically a bit slower than web pages we host elsewhere. We we ask customer support about this, they generally suggest we try to better optimize our web pages or upgrade to a different web hosting plan.

We're able to host websites and landing pages that have loaded pretty reliably for our visitors. We host relatively simple web pages in our HostGator account and haven't experienced many technical problems. We have gotten many great sales leads through our web pages on HostGator.

They migrated my old website to their platform for free.

Support can be slow, and their dashboard is sometimes confusing.

Easy to setup, easy to upgrade to high hosting plan if you reach limitation of current. Great uptime. You can find everything here for example popular content management systems like WordPress.

After compamy was sold, I experienced abig problem with a support, especially entry level. Need to wait aprox 20 mins to chat. ticket system is awfull. I never got a notification about my ticket is processed or needs my attention. HG rise prices without prior notice.

I can use VPS server hosting plan and quickly upgrade it when my website reach limits, so I never experience service interraption in that manner.

Prices are very hard to beat for what you get with their shared hosting plans - cPanel and everything that typically comes along with it, and support when you need it.

Their support could very often use improvement. Hold times are usually pretty long, and when you do get someone, there are many situations that you have to push hard to get resolved. Their VPS services do not seem up to snuff. Have seen a good number of issues there, and you don't get as much access as with other hosts.

Getting hosting set up quickly and inexpensively for small to medium sites that do not need a full VPS.

I like the Shared Hosting, Web Design, Wordpress Hosting features. The free domain for a year is very enticing. This will allow integration to be easier.

So far, there is nothing that I do not like about it.

El soporte tecnico aveces es muy demorado y para contactarse con un agente es algo complicado, en algunas opotunidad se caia el sitio web por varias horas, los precios son un poco altos comparado con otras empresas.

El momento no tengo alojamiento web con ellos.

Hostgator is a sound system if you want to integrate services such as wordpress, having the options built into the infrastructure, it also has services to easily setup emails for your site if you are running a business

For an average user, their low rate plans aren't enticing for users who only plan to have a static site. The cost of hosting doesn't make sense when the web has plenty of methods for static sites to be hosted effectively for free as long as you have bought a domain name to pair to your sites, such as through GitHub or Netlify. Speaking on pairing your domain to a site, this is a secondary complaint where unlike with google domains, you can't easily connect your site through the DNS settings.

I used Hostgator for the early years of my career to host my portfolio site as well as host WordPress sites for my customers during when I did freelance work due to the easy configuration, which I could then hand off to the client.
