Sales reps need to be able to juggle a lot of information—especially on high-velocity teams where they’re dealing with 400+ leads per month. How do they manage?
By using a reliable sales CRM to help them manage the work better.
One of the more popular CRM options out there is Pipedrive—but does it live up to the hype? In this Findstack review, we’re taking a deep dive to answer that very question.
Pipedrive describes itself as “the first CRM designed by salespeople, for salespeople”.
While it probably isn’t the first, the rest is true—it’s a CRM specifically designed to fit a sales team’s unique needs and processes. The software is designed to help teams better manage their sales pipelines, making it easier to track leads and opportunities, manage customers, and automate busywork—all in one place.
Getting started with Pipedrive is a super easy process. Before diving into the tool’s actual features, there are only really three things you need to do:
Once you’ve completed these three steps, it’s time to start exploring the platform.
Pipelines and deals are Pipedrive’s (and every other sales CRM’s) bread and butter. They’re visual representations of your sales process, including stages, deal flow, and the status of your current deals.
In Pipedrive, pipelines are completely customizable. You can easily add new stages to the pipeline and adjust the order of stages by dragging and dropping—just click “Edit Pipeline” in the upper right-hand corner.
You can also easily add new deals and view existing ones from the pipeline view. The option to review every deal’s details is especially useful and accessible simply by clicking on it in the pipeline. This includes:
You also have the option to define custom fields for your deals. These can either be marked optional or required—perfect for helping your sales team prioritize key pieces of information in their talks. The “Deals” tab is also where your team will write notes, schedule sales activities, and track availability.
Pipedrive’s communication tracking features are great.
For starters, the underlying organizational system is super intuitive—contacts are organized by dividing them into “people” and “organizations”. You can then link these to the deals they’re associated with and easily check your history of calls, emails, and activities with any of your contacts or deals.
Pipedrive’s email inbox is sales-focused and super intuitive, too. It has a ton of features that speed up the process of managing and sending emails, including:
There’s also Scheduler—a feature that helps you set up meetings without annoying back-and-forths by sharing your availability and letting invitees book time slots that work for them. You can also automatically set up video calls for scheduled time slots on Zoom, Microsoft Teams, and Google Meet.
Last, but (definitely) not least, Pipedrive integrates with a ton of great phone tools, so you can place calls from within the platform. This makes it easy to track your activity, record data, and even automate certain call-related processes—but more on automation in a moment.
One of Pipedrive’s main selling points is its automation features. There are quite a few to unpack here, but there are two main types:
Sales automations are features designed to help you optimize your business’ sales process. Take Sales Assistant, for example—this automation tool creates custom behavior-based cards with performance tips, notifications, and progress updates for each team member on your roster. It also notifies everyone affected by changes to settings and deals, so no one’s left wondering where their recent deals went.
Smart Contact Data is another sales automation tool that pulls in data from sources like LinkedIn, Google, and Twitter to help you get a better understanding of your contacts.
On the workflow side, Pipedrive’s Automations let you create custom actions and processes that are triggered automatically when a certain action is taken (e.g., when a deal changes pipeline stage). These are great for cutting down on admin work and freeing up your team to focus on bigger and better things (like actually closing deals).
Finally, it’s time to talk about Pipedrive’s reporting features.
Starting with the basics, Pipedrive’s sales reports are totally customizable. You can track whatever data points you need, and cut out the ones you’re not s interested in. Plus, there are a few pre-built reports you can use, including:
Pipedrive’s Insights dashboard is great, too—you can turn all your data and metrics into beautiful, interactive charts and graphs that are easy to read (and share).
If you want to set goals for your team, Pipedrive has you covered there, too. You can create goals based on deals or activities, and specify them by adding key details like assignees, types, pipelines, durations, and intervals.
Oh, and if you’re looking for even more customization, Pipedrive has an open API. That means you’re free to build custom integrations that meet even the most specific of reporting requirements.
Pipedrive is one of a select-few CRMs that genuinely feels like it’s saving you time. Its automation features and intuitive interface make it easier to manage contacts, deals, emails, calls, and activities—all without having to manually enter every single piece of data.
It always helps to see information presented visually—and that just so happens to be an area where Pipedrive excels. From the visual pipeline to the Insights dashboard and interactive reports, Pipedrive is packed with features that make it easier to interpret your data.
Pipedrive’s Marketplace is massive. At the time of writing, there are more than 300 integrations available. Plus, the listed tools range from video calling platforms to lead generation tools, so you’re sure to find something that fits your needs.
Pipedrive has four paid plans that you can choose from.
Still on the fence? Don’t worry—all four plans come with a 14-day free trial. No credit card required.
It’s not all good news, though. In addition to the plans, you’ll also need to think about which add-ons you need. Quite a few great features (e.g., Scheduler) are pay-walled behind pricey add-ons that don’t come packaged with the base plans.
Pros | Cons |
---|---|
Highly customizable pipelines and fields Highly visual dashboards Massive selection of integrations Easy-to-use automation builder Extensive reporting capabilities Affordable paid plans 14-day free trial (no credit card required) |
No free plan for light users Automations not available on the Essentials plan The add-on system increases the cost dramatically No ticketing system and spotty customer support |
Pipedrive is one of the top sales CRMs for a reason—a few reasons, actually. It packs in a lot of features designed with sales teams in mind, and most features are executed well.
The only real downsides are the result of the company behind the product, not the product itself. If you can overlook them, you’re in for a great experience.
Overall, Pipedrive’s well worth considering if you’re shopping for a CRM—but it isn’t even close to the only option.

Very user friendly, easy to use, never intimidating.
That it doesn't auto save, you have to actually hit save afterc every entry.
Tracking software renewals and watching the deals of the salea team to make sure contacts and next steps are saved.
Pipedrive is an intuitive and easy to configure software. It adapts to the needs of our sales team, the sales pipeline can be clearly visualized and its report function gives us valuable metrics.
It is a versatile and efficient tool. I have not experienced any problems when using this software.
It gives us excellent results that are reflected in the sales reports. It's a fascinating and full of functionality tool.
I like Pipedrive because it is a functional software, with simple and intuitive interface, whose characteristics allow me to manage each phase of sales process. The sales pipeline is visible and detailed, containing information relevant to each transaction: date, representative in charge and deal value. It is a valuable resource for monitoring sales.
I have no negative comments about this application.
Maintains the information of our contacts organized and visible in one place, allowing us to learn more about our customers. The metrics it provides are valuable for planning marketing campaigns. It is effective to streamline the sales process.
Simple, easy CRM. It takes away all the unless junk most CRM has and makes everything super clean.
Sometimes I wish I had a few more things, but overall it's all good.no CRM is perfect.
Following up with clients with ease and not letting deals fall through the cracks.
Ease of use and ability to sort large amounts of data and customized fields
some limitations for moving fields from one area to another
Forecasting deals for a given month, analytics on our sales performance
It allows me to customize the funnel and each of the stages of sale. I can view the deals information separately and together. The program has an incredible tool reports that gives us metrics like the number of deals in the funnel and the average time to close it. Pipedrive also offers a comprehensive and friendly documentation that teaches you how to use the tools it contains and how to get the most out of them. It helps me to organize sales and to follow the activities in each of its stages. It is easy to synchronize with third-party applications such as Google Calendar and has an excellent notifications system.
I have not found any deficiency in this software.
It is a tool that brings strength to the sales area, thanks to the automation it brings. Sales with long and complex processes are streamlined, and that is possible to observe in the results. It helps us grow as a sales team, increase our productivity in the department and achieve our business goals effectively.
Pipedrive is intuitive and designed to effectively manage sales activities. It is easy to setup and easy to configure. It is an app designed meticulously by experts in the sales area. It provides us with tools and advanced features to optimize every aspect involved in the sales process.
I have no complaints about this, it runs efficiently.
It is a versatile, all-in-one software that optimizes the sales process, gives detailed reports, gathers the information we need from our customers and leads in one place.
It's real easy to use and the support team is very helpful. It integrates with FB leads and Mailchimp, Google calendar and more.
Not the best to follow up out of, but they recently included an automation tool that may help with this problem.
Keeping track of commissions and where clients are at in their deals.
The type of people I interacted with is great
The number of people working at a time .
Data solutions
Relatively easy to setup, customizable without overwhelming with options. UX is visually pleasing, app runs well for most common features. Nice integration with Google calendar / contacts.
Email syncing sometimes works, sometimes doesn't. Can't delete individual emails. Contact / organization duplication is always a problem with multiple users, with Pipedrive had rules to combat this.
As with most CRMs, keeps everyone on track if efficiently used. Ability to customize funnels has been useful with different roles in the company. And of course, if a person leaves, it's easy to pick up the deal from where they last left off.
Really nice UI and reporting. This is a very high functioning CRM with all the essentials you really need, and none of the clutter.
The only real limitation with Pipedrive is that it just doesn't have all the integrations that Salesforce does. (In all fairness, it should be noted that neither does any other CRM.)
A good CRM is essential, and Pipedrive provides a really good, modern option that will deliver solid performance for most small- to mid-sized sales org's.
I love that I'm able to keep track of my emails with clients, phone calls, and their contact information all in one place. It's so easy to see what these clients have had in the past so It's easy to make the phone call and have all of their information, past and present, right there. With how easy it is to navigate through the program, it's so much faster to serve our clients across the Midwest!
I don't like that I can't make contracts with this software. I have to use another program when almost all of my information is in this one. If there is a way to make contracts and keep templates in this program, my job would be so much easier. Other than that, there aren't too many other dislikes I have with this program.
The benefits are that I'm able to see what products our clients have used in the past and am able to better serve them with that knowledge. We used to have File Maker that had all of our past clients/schools information and that was very difficult to understand how to use. This software is incredibly easy to use and with the use of bcc-ing emails, it's easy to see the chain of conversation used when another employee takes over the sale. It's very convenient in our fast paced office.
I like the easily accessible tools this software used.
I Dislike the price and how expensive it is for our company.
How activity based the product is and how it focuses on actions that drive deals to our company.
Simplicity, clarity, efficiency of the tool. Everything is slick and fast. It has been thought as a great tool since the conception.
Some minor annoyances : popins coming from time to time, lack of some custom fields that get connected with third party tools. Nothing critical !
I needed a CRM that remains simple and goes to the point : schedule tasks, forget until you have to do them, do them, note them down and repeat. I always keep a close follow up to my leads thanks to PipeDrive.
Great software that has helped us start to grow our sales team. Started with 4 reps and are already up to 8. User friendly interface that our team really enjoys!
Reporting is the biggest area where Pipedrive is limited. Found a way to work around it but would like to see more reporting options.
Managing leads and sales. Sales reps are happy and we are able to produce that is most important.
easy to use platform with a great visual overview of where everything in our pipeline is at
It is very easy to move things to a different column so you have to be careful not to make a mistake.
Team organization and efficiency
Very simple to use interface, and just the right amount of customization. Also love that you can shift views from chart to list.
Don't like the limited ability to customize different users having different pipelines.
Definitely helps me keep track of all my open leads, and know where each stage is.
Pipedrive is simple to use and allows you to track different pipelines (direct sales, partnerships etc). Unlike other CRMs, there isn’t a huge learning curve.
I’d like to see more reporting capabilities in the future.
Simple and lightweight way to track sales funnel.
Love the transparency and ease of recognizing old business
Has a long acclamation period and takes a while to get adjusted
Re-activating old leads from the past That we haven’t brought back in
Being honest I’ve used other ‘enterprise’ platforms and Pipedrive in terms of its simplicity and ease of use is miles above the rest.
As a sales guy it’s pretty much all I need... a few minor tweaks are required such as the ability to view your calendar as a working week.
Accurate forecasting
