Sales reps need to be able to juggle a lot of information—especially on high-velocity teams where they’re dealing with 400+ leads per month. How do they manage?
By using a reliable sales CRM to help them manage the work better.
One of the more popular CRM options out there is Pipedrive—but does it live up to the hype? In this Findstack review, we’re taking a deep dive to answer that very question.
Pipedrive describes itself as “the first CRM designed by salespeople, for salespeople”.
While it probably isn’t the first, the rest is true—it’s a CRM specifically designed to fit a sales team’s unique needs and processes. The software is designed to help teams better manage their sales pipelines, making it easier to track leads and opportunities, manage customers, and automate busywork—all in one place.
Getting started with Pipedrive is a super easy process. Before diving into the tool’s actual features, there are only really three things you need to do:
Once you’ve completed these three steps, it’s time to start exploring the platform.
Pipelines and deals are Pipedrive’s (and every other sales CRM’s) bread and butter. They’re visual representations of your sales process, including stages, deal flow, and the status of your current deals.
In Pipedrive, pipelines are completely customizable. You can easily add new stages to the pipeline and adjust the order of stages by dragging and dropping—just click “Edit Pipeline” in the upper right-hand corner.
You can also easily add new deals and view existing ones from the pipeline view. The option to review every deal’s details is especially useful and accessible simply by clicking on it in the pipeline. This includes:
You also have the option to define custom fields for your deals. These can either be marked optional or required—perfect for helping your sales team prioritize key pieces of information in their talks. The “Deals” tab is also where your team will write notes, schedule sales activities, and track availability.
Pipedrive’s communication tracking features are great.
For starters, the underlying organizational system is super intuitive—contacts are organized by dividing them into “people” and “organizations”. You can then link these to the deals they’re associated with and easily check your history of calls, emails, and activities with any of your contacts or deals.
Pipedrive’s email inbox is sales-focused and super intuitive, too. It has a ton of features that speed up the process of managing and sending emails, including:
There’s also Scheduler—a feature that helps you set up meetings without annoying back-and-forths by sharing your availability and letting invitees book time slots that work for them. You can also automatically set up video calls for scheduled time slots on Zoom, Microsoft Teams, and Google Meet.
Last, but (definitely) not least, Pipedrive integrates with a ton of great phone tools, so you can place calls from within the platform. This makes it easy to track your activity, record data, and even automate certain call-related processes—but more on automation in a moment.
One of Pipedrive’s main selling points is its automation features. There are quite a few to unpack here, but there are two main types:
Sales automations are features designed to help you optimize your business’ sales process. Take Sales Assistant, for example—this automation tool creates custom behavior-based cards with performance tips, notifications, and progress updates for each team member on your roster. It also notifies everyone affected by changes to settings and deals, so no one’s left wondering where their recent deals went.
Smart Contact Data is another sales automation tool that pulls in data from sources like LinkedIn, Google, and Twitter to help you get a better understanding of your contacts.
On the workflow side, Pipedrive’s Automations let you create custom actions and processes that are triggered automatically when a certain action is taken (e.g., when a deal changes pipeline stage). These are great for cutting down on admin work and freeing up your team to focus on bigger and better things (like actually closing deals).
Finally, it’s time to talk about Pipedrive’s reporting features.
Starting with the basics, Pipedrive’s sales reports are totally customizable. You can track whatever data points you need, and cut out the ones you’re not s interested in. Plus, there are a few pre-built reports you can use, including:
Pipedrive’s Insights dashboard is great, too—you can turn all your data and metrics into beautiful, interactive charts and graphs that are easy to read (and share).
If you want to set goals for your team, Pipedrive has you covered there, too. You can create goals based on deals or activities, and specify them by adding key details like assignees, types, pipelines, durations, and intervals.
Oh, and if you’re looking for even more customization, Pipedrive has an open API. That means you’re free to build custom integrations that meet even the most specific of reporting requirements.
Pipedrive is one of a select-few CRMs that genuinely feels like it’s saving you time. Its automation features and intuitive interface make it easier to manage contacts, deals, emails, calls, and activities—all without having to manually enter every single piece of data.
It always helps to see information presented visually—and that just so happens to be an area where Pipedrive excels. From the visual pipeline to the Insights dashboard and interactive reports, Pipedrive is packed with features that make it easier to interpret your data.
Pipedrive’s Marketplace is massive. At the time of writing, there are more than 300 integrations available. Plus, the listed tools range from video calling platforms to lead generation tools, so you’re sure to find something that fits your needs.
Pipedrive has four paid plans that you can choose from.
Still on the fence? Don’t worry—all four plans come with a 14-day free trial. No credit card required.
It’s not all good news, though. In addition to the plans, you’ll also need to think about which add-ons you need. Quite a few great features (e.g., Scheduler) are pay-walled behind pricey add-ons that don’t come packaged with the base plans.
Pros | Cons |
---|---|
Highly customizable pipelines and fields Highly visual dashboards Massive selection of integrations Easy-to-use automation builder Extensive reporting capabilities Affordable paid plans 14-day free trial (no credit card required) |
No free plan for light users Automations not available on the Essentials plan The add-on system increases the cost dramatically No ticketing system and spotty customer support |
Pipedrive is one of the top sales CRMs for a reason—a few reasons, actually. It packs in a lot of features designed with sales teams in mind, and most features are executed well.
The only real downsides are the result of the company behind the product, not the product itself. If you can overlook them, you’re in for a great experience.
Overall, Pipedrive’s well worth considering if you’re shopping for a CRM—but it isn’t even close to the only option.

Pipedrive offers extremely customizable features that fit my organization's needs and helps us streamline the process of managing the leads and evaluating the performance of all the team members.
Sometimes it becomes a bit cumbersome to manage the deals in a drag and drop fashion, because in our specific use case scenario we work with a lot of leads in every account.
Before pipedrive we used to maintain our entire sales lifecycle over google sheets, but as we scaled we had to look for better and more efficient ways of managing it. Pipedrive has helped us tremendously with that.
I like the IOS app. It allows me to take work remotely and to see what leads are in my geolocation. I like the automation that you can set up on the web version that syncs with the IOS app.
I wish the moving or the completion of the task was quicker on the app. There is a lot of clicks and taps that have to be done to add new action items. The web version can be loaded sometimes. I have the latest MacBook Pro and it still sometimes has lag.
I am able to keep track of my pipeline without missing follow-ups on with my leads/clients. I am able to meet my monthly sale quotas. I am able to run reports and see my performance.
The CRM tool is excellent and helps build a visual representation of the growth of leads and opportunities within an organization. Pipedrive has a great free plan that allows you to get a good idea of whether the product will be a good fit for you without having to pay anything
Probably the biggest disadvantage of the Pipe Drive platform is the fact that it cannot be customized as much as you would be able to with an enterprise-level platform. Once Pipedrive is down, there is no clear indication as to who you can contact for assistance once it has been taken down.
With Pipedrive, I could make calls from your CRM to have all your sales activities in one place at one time. In my job, I used it for a particular selling task and storing the data and the progress of the leads.
I use Pipedrive for at least 2 years, great product to follow your business pipe and help close your deals.
All additional modules are paying, which can cost a lot if you addition all of them Use can be limited if you have others tools for some usages
Following of my portfolio is a way easier and help me sell more
The ability to create deals and have details added and create events for each
nothing to add on the dislikes , serves its purpose
Its easy to keep track of prospects and see what my team members are chasing as well
It's very easy to use, we did integrate all leads entering our website so we could call them straight away when they signed up.
incoming email retrieval is a feature that is paid separately. otherwise if you don't want to pay extra you have to forward incoming emails from your inbox to pipedrives custom email.
it's a CRM, we use it to call customers and record our interactions with them both during onboarding and customer success, so we have lot's of info to propose deals. It's easier when you have lots of people doing support to get a knack of the customer problems when it is rightly registered in pipedrive.
Easy to use and good overview of progress. Changing pipelines and targets is easy and automated with your email.
Difficult to export the data and create nice graphs.
Easy to structure sales lead activities.
The ease of moving and tracking the status of our sales and deal closure.
The notification & pending task section could be refined a little.
It has helped me track the ongoing deals and keep all involved stakeholders informed all in one place. It helps me track and take reports on prospective revenue
- The pipeline, lets us see where everything is at for the business. - Scheduling activities makes it easy to remember follow ups. - We can see how much won vs lost which is great
- Nothing. There is a lot of features, including automation, that we're utilizing and love.
It has improved our closing percentage. We've seen more consistency, too, where we're able to track why we lost deals.
Has quite a lot of features that can do a fair amount of automation for you.
Learning curve is quite steep; integrating with other software takes good 5-8 hours with an expert.
Understanding where my leads are at a given time. Remembering to contact leads at promised time.
The software has a lot of integration options
It's a bit clunky. Works woth a lot of "if" conditions Wich are not the most comfortable
I used it as a crm. I mainly used it to keep track of leads and form a sales pipeline
Bulk emails, Customizable charts, Lead organization, labeling system and organization
Doesn't always update in real-time. Load times can be really long sometimes.
Lead organization, ease of use
The user interface and very easy to understand, not complicated and also reporting system we get . It's very good
Still some features to be included in terms of reporting and also filters to sort the data
Control over the sales process , tracking analyzing the sales pipelines and building strategies as per that.
The layout is intuitive and helps organize clients into helpful categories. The fact that it integrates well into email platforms is helpful.
I have not experienced anything I could consider a downside.
Organization from prospect to onboarding clients to servicing clients.
Very organized and streamlined interface that makes it easy to learn and input data
The mobile app lacks some key features like the leads section. And the mobile website does not scale to make it usable.
Data and customer management
Easy to use, build pipelines, and monitor activity.
It can have issues occasionally with Zapier.
It gives us an overview of our Sales and Marketing activities and how we need to priortise.
Ease of use and the integrations work well
We are unable to truly do custom pricing for products
tracking deals and customer information. automation of notifications
integration with my other apps; customer support
limited editing capabilities when putting together docs
account management, customer contact, deal managment
The set up is easy snd it's quite straightforward to navigate different pages even if you're a beginner.
The reporting feature has changed and is not as descriptive as it was before the update.
Documenting and monitoring different stages of business development, tracking lost and won deals, managing several pipelines.
It's easy to navigate. Right away you can get to wherever you need to without training or consulting Support.
I've run into issues in the lead process when trying to pair Pipedrive with Zapier. I've also noticed some delays in leads appearing.
Pipedrive is the solution for helping my team house all their respective leads in one system, as well as informing them when new leads come in.
