SEMRush is an all-in-one content marketing solution that comes with content optimization tools, an SEO writing assistant, and real-time content grade as well as a keyword research tool. The platform is a great tool for topic research, and content grading for readability, SEO, tone of voice, and originality. It can also reliably recommend keywords and track the impact of your article given the SEO improvements that were implemented. Pricing for SEMrush is more on the higher end, given the feature-rich options of tools available and the fact that it’s an all-in-one solution.

Tracking keyword positions, domain overview, tracking competitor positions.
The fact that Google analytics access and search console access is required separately for each section on semrush. Wouldn't i be easier to have one single permission request?
Keyword research, mining for featured snippets, topic research for articles and a lot more.
I like the way we do Baclink analysis and report the spam links within the dashboard using its own Disvow file and report the same to Search console. Its prett easy and hassle free. Also i like the suggestions given by tool in terms of website hygene check and Linkbuilding opportunities.
I would like SEM Rush to provide suggestions to the user in terms of Low competition keywords when user is facing difficulties when search dislays high competition keywords and no chance of selecting required less competition keywords.
I resolved Website Health and it got improved from 72 to 86 and also spam backlinks of 1800 domains got removed from search engines. Improved Domain authority by following suggestions from SEM Rush link building opportunities tool. There are so many things we can do using SEM Rush. I recomend this tools to every Marketer.
The ability to run ranking reports, backlink audits and competitive research.
Absolutely nothing. The reporting is amazing.
Uncovering missed opportunities to expand into different markets.
The multiple functionalities in order to satisfy all the MKT area. SEO, SEM, Keyword Research, Competitor analysis...
That some functionalities for connecting with API are not available on standard bundle so developement our own tools it is bit more difficult to automate with our internal mkt processes
All marketing funnel info
The keyword Gap finder and keyword analysis tool
There isn't a particular thing I dislike.
Finding new content ideas and improving the website SEO
Ability to see everything within a single dashboard.
I'm tracking Domain authority via another tool
tracking backlinks, seeing link opportunities, seeing competitors data, seeing a social snapshot. LOVE IT!
SEMRush is pretty easy to use if you have a base understanding of SEO. And if you don't, they provide help as soon as you sign up. Even the basic plan has tons of really useful tools. It's definitely worth the money.
It's certainly a complicated dashboard in that there are a LOT of things you can do, but I think UX-wise they've handled that pretty well. It's easy to become overwhelmed.
Semrush helps me track how clients are doing with their SEO and plan keywords for the content we are creating. One day I will upgrade to get content marketing, which I had during the free trial and it was fantastic.
I love the Site Audit and error trackers. It helps me make sure that every page on my site is up to a certain standard, and if there is anything broken, I get emails and notifications and can go in and fix it.
It's a little clunky when I want to get to a specific page and look at ways to improve as opposed to seeing specific issues that appear on multiple pages, but it's still manageable.
Our site had plenty of SEO issues before implementing Semrush that I never would have known to fix. So Semrush has just been essential in me learning more about SEO management and being really on top of all of that.
I can do all my analytics work on one platform: Google Analytics, Google Adwords, SEO. --Much easier format that is updated more frequently than competitors. I have used AhREFS, moz.com, SpyFu, etc. This platform always seems to be superior for my needs. I previously worked on the agency side, and used it there too. So now I have used it on both client-facing and agency-side.
The price for smaller business owners leaves no room for negotiation. Agencies, which have multitudes of clients have a price difference not substantial enough. A program that I use called Drift.com has a small business membership, where it's just one user and a certain amount of times you can log in a month. Works great for a growing business. You can really streamline.
Quick, succinct keyword research. The results work for both Adwords and SEO. Building the website becomes easier as well because you know so much on the front end. I would love the time to be able to dive into the social media aspect of the platform but have not taken that leap quite yet.
competitors analysis Keywords and Positions mentoring Errors report
the limitation of features in the pro plan the high price
can't do any SEO project without it
EVERYTHING that SEMrush offers to online marketers. I am mostly using it for doing competitive research, keyword research, and technical SEO (Site Audits). Love how they enhance current features and come up with new ones every now and then based on trending topics. I love to attend their SEO webinars as well as informative blogs. I can't imagine my day at work without using this amazing tool. I have used a couple of other tools as well but the way SEMrush represents data in reports is so easy to understand and it's so helpful to improve our digital marketing strategies based on the explanations & suggestions they provide for each topic in the tool itself. Also, it offers the best subscription prices compared to any other tool in the market.
Nothing that I can think of at this point.
Running Site Audits on a regular cadence help me identify issues that I should work on next to improve my website in terms of providing the best user experience and improving rankings. Competitive Research helps me keep eye on competitor's SEO and SEM strategies.
For years we used multiple tools to get everything done with our SEO agency, but SEMRush has it all, from organic to PPC to lead generation, it's all there and easy to use. In fact, there's so much in it, it's easy to miss. I found myself Googling to find something, only to discover I already had it on my SEMRush dashboard! What's more important for us, though, is the ability to get quick SEO audits and keyword ranking for potential customers. We can get information quickly to allow us to build a case to improve a company's ranking or even ads potential which is key in winning client.
It can be hard to find the tools you need, some of the naming is a little confusing, however over the past few months the menus have been updated and it's now much easier to navigate, so it seems they're listening to feedback and improving things.
Instant reports and weekly updates are great for keeping customers in the loop, but the content research and keyword tools give you everything you need to get the right content to improve ranking.
Projects and KW research. Easy comparison to to competitors for keywords you care about.
Backlink reports are not as strong as other tools. Also, project data does not use same database as regular keyword research in the tool.
Tells me what content to focus on and what content brings traffic to our competitors.
The tools on Semrush are actually helpful, there's not added fluff or misleading tools that make you believe they will help your campaigns when they truly don't. Semrush has been a lifesaver, I love being able to use it for PPC/Social Media Marketing/Competitor Research/Etc. there are so many uses for Semrush.
There are times when things can be broken out on the side panel to make navigation a little more fluid, but that's just me nitpicking. The price for additional graphs/charts is a bit of a downer as well.
SEO issues - I am newer to SEO and PPC so having competitor research and keyword research in one spot is EXTREMELY helpful. I'm excited about the continued updates with social media tracking.
I like that Semrush gives me the information I need to do my job effectively.
I dislike that the Semrush blog post generally contain, multiple typos and grammatical errors. This doesn't diminish the usefulness of the content, it's just a thing that annoys me.
Technical SEO has been the biggest problem that we have solved with Semrush.
I am a college instructor and incorporated Semrush into my Social Media Marketing course. Students were able to quickly use the tool and see the value. The Semrush Academy was a great resource to help students get started with the platform. Customer support was excellent. Student feedback included "I really enjoyed going back and forth on the SEMrush software." "I can really see the value it can add to help companies with the social media marketing strategies!"
There was nothing I didn't like about the tool/platform.
Using to Semrush in the classroom provided students with access to a tool that is used in real world. They were able to see the potential value of using this tool on the job.
The ON-Page suggestions, Keyword research, Keywords Magic tool is one of the best thing that I like the most.
We have to buy more credits for on-page seo tracker. Even if we are refreshing the report, it asks to buy more credits for tracking or refreshing the old report.
Keyword discovery, competition tracking and on-page ideas for seo - these are the problems which we are solving by using Semrush.
It provides you with tons of valuable data that you can make a great use of!
In "organic keywords/traffic trend" I'd love to see also weekly stats instead just monthly
Tracking current results of my marketing efforts
The fact that it's my go to tool for any SEO needs from keyword research to planning the ultimate strategy using other useful features and the useful audit functionality.
Honestly, there is nothing that I don't like about the tool. It's one of the tools which is evolving at an exponential pace and I won't be surprised if it becomes the number 1 tool in every marketers toolkit.
Keyword and backlink gap are my 2 favorites which help me find the gaps real quick and plan the strategy accordingly.
- It's very easy to use. - Semrush offers all the features which are required for a beginner to advanced level SEO. It's a great hub for virtually every facet of SEO you can imagine. - The On-Page SEO Checker from Semrush is awesome. It scans content for SEO issues and also shows whether or not content is over-optimized. - I also like the “Semantic” section, which gives a list of LSI keywords that we can use in our content.
Link Building Outreach Tool: At the moment there is no possibility to export contact details from the "In Progress" tab in the Link building tool. I hope in the future releases, we will see that option.
