The user interface is intuitive and setup was fairly straightforward. A good option for anyone without a lot of back end experience. Also, this is one of the best support teams I have worked with - they are fantastic!
I struggled with the import process a bit, but was able to get everything figured out without too much trouble. While there are a lot of options for added functionality, the apps tend to nickel and dime you, so you'll definitely want to carefully plan out what you'll need.
We had been using a different web store program that was difficult to administer, was short on features, and was no longer being updated by the developer. Rather than dive into an expensive solution, I chose to give Shopify a try. We noticed an immediate increase in our web store sales and they have been growing over time.
I like the ease of use. My websites run very quickly on it as well. I believe that when I run Shopify it is sometimes double the speed of other e-commerce platforms. I find this software to also be intuitive and great for design. I am a graphic designer and the theme system works great.
It's just far to expensive. I find that other free e-commerce platform systems can be edited to run the same as shopify. I think that this is a huge issue for this company. I think if they had a free option I could offer it to more clients. Right now I can only use it for clients with larger budgets.
It's hard to answer this question. Really if you pay for Shopify you are just paying to save time and have something that looks and functions great right off the bat. If you don't have it in your budget you just have to work a little longer to set it up. It makes sense for some of my clients, for others it's just not worth it.
This is a over simplified system. its great that you don't need to be a developer to change edit the simplest things.
Theres a lot of features that i did not have access to example i wanted to offer pick up at a different location(not possible. Also wanted to offer a CSA box not possible either.
We are taking credit cards to ease the check process. everything is great except the concerns above.
I love that the backend of Shopify is so simple to set up and use! Being able to update products so easily has really helped us grow our online presence.
Because we also sell wholesale we cannot use Shopify as our only inventory tracker. This makes it a little difficult for us because we have to have a separate inventory software.
We are building our online sales and online presence. This is huge when branding a company in the fashion industry.
I sell videos/ marketing through my website, it's an easy platform to manage and give customers ease of use too.
Transferring money into bank account is clunky.
I needed an easy way for my customers to get products fast. This is the way, and they can use them instantly too.
I love the simplicity of setting up a storefront with all the professionalism and bells & whistles needed without the complicated thought process. I am able to style it the way I desire, but shopify makes the nitty gritty details simple (receipts, shipping, inventory, etc.)
The only thing that I dislike is the limitations of a template. I am aware that I could work outside of that in coding, but it would be helpful if there were additional drag/drop options within all templates to customize a bit more.
My greatest problem is marketing the product, which is outside of what I expect shopify to do for me. I think one of the many pros of using a site like shopify is that you have the ability to look much more professional and market your product as such. The downside is that ecommerce sites like Etsy offer more default traffic by key words and tags that people are searching. There's a greater likelihood that they will "stumble" onto your shop accidentally.
I love the versatility of the check out options when payment methods are created. I also really like that the customer service department is willing to work with you to add additional products to your line without necessarily changing your monthly billing statement amount.
The order recovery system. We aren't able to track what consumers may open up an e-mail sent to remind them to continue to finish their purchase and check out.
I realized that this has helped us target end users when we are mostly a wholesaler. It's allowed us to sell direct with the flexibility of only us using our products at our products.
I just started to use this application for my personal commissions and the layout is nice and simple to use. Really enjoy that.
Honestly there isn't anything I dislike yet about it.
Keeping track of orders and commissions will be an ease with this app.
Shopify is an intuitive system that allows me to easily manage the ads and product information attached to my inventory. We recently even started using its blogging functions.
The blogging system is not as easy to use as other products that are available on the market today.
We are solving the problem of how to keep our website and product information up to date and visually easy to process.
Shopify is an awesome platform to sell your products. They provide a great interface, reports, manager customer feedback and support third party payments.
Getting started was little hard but it was a breeze after that.
Migrated from WordPress selling site. Wordpress is hard to navigate and manage but Shopify was way easier to manage customers.
Shopify was a great tool for companies that needed a BI tool. Great user interface and customer support. It's nice to actually be able to get someone on the phone. Good job Shopify!
Not many things to dislike, more onboarding support would be nice.
Business Intelligence is crucial.
This software is easy to use and tremendously lowers the barrier to entry for potential ecommerce businesses.
While it is easy to use for the general ecommerce store, it seems to lack some customizable functionality that would come from a completely custom solution.
Faster product to market and ease of updating products.
Super easy to setup a store. This is the fastest way to get going.
Too costly the cost of apps I wish they were cheaper.
Easy of opening a new store. Quickly got me to start a new business and earn a side income.
It's easy to use and has great features. The design templates make it easier to create a memorable and easy to navigate store.
I wish it could be a little cheaper for small business owners. The 14 day trial period is not long enough. It took me about that long to set it up.
Easy to share store with others.
Easy to manage. Great set of APPS out there to plug in! Nice development tools to push out a very nice looking website. Costs are reasonable. Great customer support. Very secure.
Shopify has a monthly fee. Not expensive, but would be better if it was based solely on transactions.
This is as much a marketing site for us as anything. Our primary distribution channels are the big box retailers and clubs, and then Amazon, but Shopify does help those who can't seem to find our product anywhere else.
Shopify is a very easy app to use and very user friendly. I can explain it to my staff in under 5 minutes! I also like the amount of support available to my staff if there is a question about it.
There is nothing I dislike about this product! It is very easy to use and support is great.
I like that shopify gives me a way to follow our transactions easily. The benefits of having a portable mobile device to track these things is so important.
Shopify is an easy to learn and use ecommerce platform for basic shopping cart functions.
It can be expensive for its limitations.
If you need an ecommerce platform it looks professional and is easy to set up.
I was really new at this and it was my first attempt they were so nice and I defiantly want to purchase a plan and continue super easy with out having to give up functions
for just starting out they are a little expensive and I don't know if I need all the options they offer or what some of them do
I was able to solve the problem of not being able to code and still be able to integrate my sites with other apps
I enjoy having it available as app form as well. I am a small business seller and was looking for a simple interface and affordable ecommerce software to get me started and this fit the bill.
I do not have any complaints about Shopify
Ecommerce is the way to go along with social media marketing
Many integrations with other apps and tools are available. Lots of flexibility and customization options are available. Content management is straightforward with built-in SEO tools.
There's a bit of a learning curve to get up and running. The organization of the dashboard is not as intuitive as it could be.
Shopify's online store system has been a good option for our business. We have many products and need lots of customization options, at an affordable price. Shopify has checked all those boxes.
The best thing about Shopify is that it handles a lot of the details for you. You don't need to worry about learning a lot about e-commerce in order to use it and you can be successful with very little effort on your part. Also, you can get information regarding your site (e.g., reports) with helpful information instantly. Also, if you can't figure something out, you can get help right away - they have 24-hour help available. If you want, you can hire an expert to help you, which is always a great option. Their security is strong and it's nice not to have to worry about that.
There's not much to dislike. Maybe they could add a tutorial video to demonstrate how to best use the site and show examples from other businesses.
Selling products. It can be very hard, almost impossible to get a meeting with a person at a store that could potentially sell you products. Shopify removes the middle man. They take out all the hassle and you can be successful overnight!
I love that it tracks my products, automatically sending tracking information to customers, and has plenty of apps to "add on"!
I dislike that a customer is only able to apply 1 discount code for each order.
I am solving customer engagement! The benefits I've realized are so many apps you can add on to customize your shopify experience!
I love the usability of Shopify the best. The designers thoroughly considered that most users of Shopify were looking for a quick way to get their products online in a beautiful webpage. Shopify allowed me to focus on creating the products for my ecommerce shop, rather than focusing on all the tiny details of designing and coding an online shop. There are so many templates to choose from in the theme store and the app store has so many options to make my website even better. I have recommended this product to other local shop owners.
Just like Etsy, Shopify charges per sale (depending on which plan you choose). I understand the need for this on Shopify's end to upkeep their website, but it is always hard to see money go away when you've made a purchase.
One of the main benefits it the amount of time saved. I was dreading having to put together an ecommerce page for all of my online products, not even knowing where to start, until I found Shopify. This really helped me focus in on my work, and also expand the viewers of my products.
We like the ease of use in the interface.
Our uses of the platform are fairly primitive so it works well for what we need.
Solving the need to build our own ecommerce sales platform for a small retail shop
Ease of use and user experience. Multiple tools available for all kinds of options.
Pricing fee is too high. Can come up with a simpler setup for merchants with amateur level sales.
FFP is a production agency. We use Shopify for setting up our online sales platform.
The one thing that stands out, for sure, for Shopify is their customer service. Their employees are kind and knowledgeable.
I dislike the fact that the trial is very limiting. A credit card needs to he entered in order to unlock some of the features.
There is much buzz about Shopify and how so many seem to be doing very well using its llatform, however, I didn't really see a strong difference between it and what other companies or products offer.
I work with Shopify for some freelance work I do and it is so easy to use and set up! if you are just starting off a retail company Shopify is the perfect starter ecomm service.
I don't like the fact that you can't mask the URL to not say shopify.
It's so much easier to start a ecomm business through Shopify, it takes a lot of the development of the site.
Ease of use - intuitiveness. Customization ability - all in one platform.
Cost of Apps and integration - they can be quite expensive.
giving our clients the ability to sell online.
Ease of use, quick updates. Best software for the task!
I don't like the color palette and some of the language is ambiguous.
I am solving the problem of complex client relations resulting from infrastructure re-investment.
The ability to create a website and launch a product in less than 24 hours is an amazing benefit to an entrepreneur.
If you are on a shoestring budget, this can get expensive quickly.
I needed a platform to launch and scale a company, and this allowed me to do it without having to build a site from scratch.
