ClickUp Competitor & Alternatives
ClickUp competes with tools like monday.com, Trello, and Asana. Each tool has its own strengths and weaknesses. ClickUp stands out for its wide range of task display views, real-time chat, and in-app video recording features. However, other tools like monday.com and Asana also offer robust features, although they lack real-time chat and in-app video recording. Trello, on the other hand, is a more budget-friendly option, but it lacks time tracking and budgeting tools.

While the free plan does have some limitations compared to the paid plans (such as storage limits and access to premium features), it still provides a comprehensive toolset for managing tasks and projects. Compare ClickUp with other popular tools in the same category.
ClickUp is one of the best collabortive tools that we have used in our office. Each team is able to create their open space and invite others in to collaborate without having to change their entire flow. We love the tagging, and due dates.
We wish we could chat live with users in real time without having to rely on email or tagging.
ClickUp is allowing our growing team to collaborate well together and track multiple tasks and deadlines. Our productivity has gone through the roof and we're able to handle a lot more at the same time without losing our place or our way.
I love using click up better than the last platform I used. I like how you can assign a task and can break down everything to make sure Everything is done properly.
What I dislike about click up is the some of the notifications to my email
I love how click up updated their notifications tab
I like the level of the details you can put in the activities. I use for my work and this helps a lot with my tasks and demands.
What I don't like is that when you add a subtask, it doesn't show the limit date, only it appears if you click on the task.
Organization, it helps me to have an overview of what I have to do and the prompt.
When they say one app to replace others, they aren't kidding. I have consolidated all my sheets, apps and notes and CRM into Clickup.
I wish the calendar was more visually appealing.
I can see everything in one screen and I can store all my images and videos with it.
My experience with clickup is amazing. All my tasks are properly orginized and I get notifications about upcoming deadline timely!
Frequent interface change delays working process sometimes
It really benefits multitask management and efficient team communication
There is not much I do not love about ClickUp, but the primary focus is the flexibility in all of the ways we can build out projects (lists, calendar, views) and switch in between. Unlike other solutions that force you into one or another, or force a ticket-like experience, we have the flexibility to use ClickUp for a myriad of options that fit what we need and can be consumed by everyone in the way that is best for them. For instance, we use kanban for product launches. But calendar for content and blog and campaigns. And lists for podcast planning. Subtasking is very simple. Communications within all tasks is clear. I have been using ClickUp for years now, and I can't imagine stopping. Everyone on my team uses it, as well as folks on cross-functional teams who support mine. I also like that I can provide views to folks who need to be informed but aren't necessarily core users of a ClickUp space, without a licensing requirement. That helps us work at scale.
I wish the start dates and stop dates had more flexibility for editorial calendaring, for instance. We use start dates for our publication dates, but I wish there was some "Publish Date" option in addition to project start and stop.
Alignment between a remote and distributed team. We lovingly "Consult the Clicky" for everything. It keeps us moving as if we were in one room.
Time tracking and different status of tasks.
When going into task -> subtask ... when you are heading back the task closes and you need to open it again (maybe more straightforward to go back in task hierarchy).
Tracking time, getting overview of the open tasks of individual projects.
All of my documentation, planning, and to do lists are in one easy to use spot. It has replaced carrying around a notebook and planner for my daily life.
That more people don't use it. It would be a great collaboration site for planning all sorts of things with other people.
Currently I have no problems they are fixing for me.
The leanring curve is quick so it did not take long for me to get used to it. What I did like is the amount of templates they have that you can import and use which makes setup simple, easy and quick. I use it every day to track my work efforts as a small business. It integrates easily with other software too. I have never reached out to support because their customer support documentation is detailed and specific.
When I enter fields, it jumps to the top of the list, which irritates me. However, I have not looked for a solution either. So, it is not that of an issue.
As a small business owner I kept dropping the ball on my sales funnel, forgetting about leads and missing sales. Now I know where I am and what I need to do.
Click up is easy to use- has the perfect Project Management and organizational features I need to run my business- and I know I will be able to scale as I grow!
I haven't found anything I dislike- other than some of the training on ClickupU is outdated, and could have more examples of how to set up ClickUp for project management for small/solo businesses.
I love how ClickUp has everything I need in one place. And it is so customizable- I can track the information I want to. I love ClickUp!
I love how Clickup allows me to see all projects I'm working on at a quick glance. The collaborating options make working with others a breeze. One of my favorite features is the time tracking.
The only issue I had was the massive amount of emails I received letting me know about project updates. Thankfully there was a setting to reduce notifications.
Keeping track of projects and deadlines.
It is super user-friendly, it is constantly updating, and creating new ways to do things, and allows me to simplify workflows and be more efficient.
I wish the dashboards were more accurate when presenting how long it takes to complete a task, and overall how long it is taking the team to complete tasks. In terms of KPI's we normally have to export the data because we don't feel Click up dashboards are good enough.
It help us automate and simplify workflows, communicate requests and answers between departments
I have currently preferred using ClickUp over other platforms due to the simplicity of how tasks can be accomplished in the software. The system is extremely intuitive, making moments of uncertainty about functionality rare. And even though it is easy to use, it remains an extremely powerful tool. It is possible to generate various insights through dashboards, in addition to having good process automation features. I use ClickUp almost every business day, and it has been a great tool. I've also taken full advantage of the integrations with Bitbucket, which help track open pull requests (PRs).
A slight downside is that I feel there is a lack of shortcuts in the application. Many tasks require the use of the mouse, which diminishes productivity for those accustomed to predominantly using the keyboard.
ClickUp solves the pain of having to maintain each stage of the software development lifecycle in separate places. On the platform, it's possible to do almost everything needed to track the software lifecycle: documentation, bug tracking, kanban, product roadmap, etc. Everything is in one place, making it easy to reference, and it doesn't compromise organization.
Clickup, especially with the recent updates, has been the best project management software that our company has used so far.
Clickup is easy to get up and running on because the set up feels decently self-explanitory, but if you don't take the time to learn the proper ways to go about things, you can set things up in a way that can cause issues later down the line.
Click up lets us get a high-level view that can drill down to a detailed view and have all that info linked together so you only have to update things in one place.
Incredibly flexible to allow you to configure it for your workflow. Also, integrates with slack so you can share tasks with your team mates, but also has its own comments and discussions, which I think is better. You can assign those comments to someone to resolve! Awesome.
The alerts for iOS and iwatch are fiddly to configure. It's flexible but takes a while. But just a one of so not the end of the world.
It helps to solve the issues of team collaboration around software product development. We benefit from having a single place to track work items relating to features and have the whole team collaborate and leave updates and comments.
I use ClickUp everyday to help me organize my day to day, week to week, month to month tasks. The features available meet every need that I may have in managing my tasks. One feature that I plan to utilize soon is time tracking. This will assist me in mapping operations and learn where to reduce time constraints. The help tools such as university, videos, help center, help so much in accomplishing anything that I may need to better utilize ClickUp.
Not much on this topic. Always room for innovation!
It's solving workflow operations and tasks management issues. ClickUp helps keep up with the large amount of tasks that I have on a daily basis.
Ease of use and it's chrome extension is such a time saver.
Nothing really as does what I need it too.
It's chrome extension save me time when reviewing sites and for project management it's simple to use
We've tried almost every project management tool and ended up with click up, it does everything better. Super easy to set up and get integrated, clear clutter free views of your tasks and the ability to heavily customise your dashboards/lists and spaces is what makes clickup the better choice.
Genuinely haven't found an issues, it has been a perfect tool for my team.
As an agency it's hard to find a good software that can easily have seperate spaces for each client/project, clickup does this simply and better than all the competition that I have tried. It has become our only task management tool and works best for agency use.
Keeping workflow moving seemlessly through all departments, it's user friendly and intuitive, and highly customisable, means we always know exactly where we stand with every task or project.
ClickUp 3 has changed some user interfaces that we are still getting used to and that we have sent feedback about.
Anything that needs to be actioned within our business is on ClickUp. At a glance, we can see exactly where we stand with any task or project , where the hold ups might be, and plan for live dates or leave cover. Work flow in seamless through ClickUp
The possibilite to create many lists with colors
The recorrent tasks are allowed only in The paid version
I can see all my tasks togheter
Its interface is perfect to manage multiple projects and even your personal life. I never used a better onde.
Nothing. The software is perfect. Everything on ClickUp is intuitive and fascinating.
I have a startup, I was strugling to manage everything I have to manage without such a user-friendly software. It literally solved all my management problems.
Really helps to track projects and tasks
Lack of dynamic forms is definitely something needed
Projects
My team and I can streamline our operations, enhance accountability, and clarify roles for multiple projects using ClickUp. It has an intuitive interface and customizable features. The ability to define specific roles and assign tasks has been pivotal in increasing transparency across our team. Everyone knows exactly what they are responsible for, significantly reducing overlaps and confusion. We are more cohesive than before. One of ClickUp's features that has been helpful to us is its adaptability to various workflows. It has allowed us to refine our processes and resolve gaps and redundancies in a way that aligns with our business operations. The dashboard provides a comprehensive real-time overview of what is happening, allowing quick adjustments and decision-making. The newer AI features are on point, as well. An added benefit is the ease with which it integrates with our other tools. We use ClickUp daily. My team and I are more coordinated, focused, and driven, thanks to the clarity and structure provided by ClickUp, and as a small business, this has been empowering.
As with any project management software, it took some time to learn the tool, though the customer support was excellent. It was well worth the relatively minimal effort!
ClickUp has been instrumental in solving several critical issues we grappled with as a small business. It has streamlined our project management, turning chaotic workflows into well-organized processes. The clarity in task assignments and role definitions it provides has significantly reduced misunderstandings and redundancies. Enhanced accountability has been a key factor in improving our team's productivity. Everyone is now fully aware of their responsibilities and deadlines, leading to a more disciplined and focused approach to work. The software has also improved our decision-making process by providing real-time data and insights, allowing us to identify and address any bottlenecks quickly.
The standout feature for me is the sheer versatility of this product. I believe our utilization of ClickUp exceeds that of most organizations. We've managed tens of thousands of tasks and have heavily relied on its API, among other functionalities. What sets ClickUp apart is its user-friendliness; we've never needed to provide formal training within our organization. The support team is impressively responsive, consistently resolving issues or providing comprehensive guidance within just a few minutes, with the longest wait time for issue resolution being about an hour. Additionally, the API's simplicity has enabled us to swiftly create integrations, making it a valuable asset to our workflow.
Sometimes it can be a little slow, but it's understandable with the amount of data that we have in ClickUp. That's been my only issue. We've had a few issues related to the API that has caused some chaos, but only once or twice.
ClickUp has really backed up a lot of their bold statements they've left in their platform like "This replaces Loom", etc. Their platform is very solid, it does the job really well, and the customer service is amazing. We love their brand and culture from what we can see on social media. It seems like the dream place to work and the dream tool for all organizations. This tool has been a match made in heaven for us.
The user interphase and amount of features. I like the Spaces and list organization, time tracker, dashboards and more.
The task lists are looking a bit overcrowded. I first land on the Overview, have to click on list, and then I have one row for Space name and automation, a second row for View mode and customize, a third row, Group, filter, and more, fourth row the tasks columns name and then the tasks, it's a bit too much.
My work organization. I work with many different clients and many times with different projects or business areas for one client. ClickUp makes it super easy to organize a business like mine, organizing tasks, tracking time and overall making my day more productive and my business more profitable.
ClickUp allows you to track and coordinate any project from one place.
I am not fond of the Docs portion, it would be nice to have a Docs Homepage that lets you see folders with the different docs inside.
ClickUp allows me and my team to be on the same page in all our tickets and projects.
I really love that it is both a note-taking app, and a project management app all in one place. The features and configuration make it easy to stay on top of multiple projects as well as viewing dashboards for all tasks.
The way to format is a little hard to get used to but there are still some great options and templates to help.
before i was having to track tasks in one app and notes in another, i love having everyhing together where I can tag items and search.
I noticed that ClickUp has improved a lot in the last 12 months. They launched ClickUp 3.0 with AI features, and besides the visual enhancements, I particularly noticed the improved loading performance. This time it's better than ever, and I admire the tool even more as I use it. I have noticed some enhacements in the mobie app as well!
Sometimes I find ClickUp to be too expensive. I also think that it could have some predefined or platform-native templates focused on tracking: - Projects; - Contracts; - CRM (Sales); - Financial matters.
It is solving the customization problem that my company needs for project management. In addition, we are using it to store documentation, passwords and tutorials.
The simple way to delegate tasks to my team .
Sometimes the server is slow and difficult to connect
The ability to coordinate a team of diverse people.
