Zendesk Sell Pros and Cons
- All-in-one sales CRM with communication tracking (calls, texts, emails) and task management.
- Rich API ecosystem: Core, Sync, Firehose, Search support for integrations and event streams.
- Progressive feature set: teams can start small and scale with higher tiers.
- Best practices and developer tools (ZCLI, custom objects) for extensibility.
- Good pipeline visibility, forecasting and reporting.
- Advanced features (lead scoring, deal scoring, multiple pipelines, roles & permissions) are locked to higher (more expensive) tiers.
- AI-powered features / intelligent automation are more present in Suite/Support rather than core Sell; ambiguity around exact AI included in Sell tiers.
- No self-hosting, no open-source version.
- Language / locale support for Sell itself not clearly documented.
- Potential cost escalation for growing teams due to per-seat pricing and expensive higher tiers.
Compare Zendesk Sell with other popular tools in the same category.
It is an intuitive platform and easy to use.
Sometimes it is hard to filter the information I need to locate.
This platform helps me to locate information of the products we sell on our company.
Easy to use and provide help from it to others
The right side bar crashes sometimes and have refresh that
Easily provide help to other basis on their concern
user-friendly easy to use all good for now
some time it got hanged unable to check and fetch correct data
easy to use and navigate and to pullout data
Simplified navigation makes it easy to train and skill ups are fairly seamless.
Sometimes when navigating between options you have to go back to the begining to complete the task
Makes tracking and documentation more seamless
What I like most about Zendesk is the freedom we can give residents, prospects and vendors the forum to spread their concerns, ask questions and receive a timely response via email through messenger. It has phenomenally improved the emailing experience and relieved the need to filter and constantly clear out email/spam inboxes.
I dislike the tickets that have been closed/solved not filtering out of my "unsolved tickets" even though its been completed.
It is solving all major communication anonymity issues within companies and allowing users to be anonymous and/or speak freely without anonymity.
The CRM is user-friendly and does not require many instructions. However, much assistance is available through lessons, online chat, and email. The application is adaptable. We were able to modify settings or personal preferences to match our requirements. The ability to import names and pull information from Job portals is quite helpful. There is strong integration between support and chat, which is highly beneficial.
It has been beneficial thus far, and we enjoy that it can be customized to meet our requirements. There is nothing I dislike about it, and we are unable to identify any issues.
We are developing a system to track deals and relationships. The ability to synchronize emails and log discussions has proven to be one of the most significant unanticipated benefits.
Having all of your client info in 1 place!
The occasional glitches cause extra time.
Being able to quickly see who your contacts are, including their information and being able to call them and leave notes directly from the app.
I liked that it is easy to float in the platform between the tickets
For certain things it is a bit confusing but in general it is easiest than others
Attending customer inquiries and helping to correct orders
Task assignments, macros and notifications
May reveal too much information for customers
Resolving Customer complaints. Real time Customer reviews.
I like that it is a very simplistic approach to track and manage stakeholder needs for the product at hand. It keeps you on track by offering settings for individual user needs from a cohesive whole.
Honestly, coming from having used Salesforce previously, I don't have any dislikes - I prefer it 1000x over Salesforce any day.
Managing our CRM, as well as tracking any issues and integrating our JIRA platform in order to help manage/track those issues. We also have set it up to distribute and record client satisfaction with our services.
Zendesk is easy-to-use and customizable based on your business needs. It is an excellent system for start-ups or businesses to build a CRM. Zendesk provides you with a Sandbox environment where you can test changes you want to implement before releasing them to your whole team.
Recently, they made a change where users cannot reach the Support Team right away. It would be better if their Support agents were easy to contact via chat. Also, I hope their Help Center could be a bit more organized or updated.
I like how Zendesk Sell makes it easy for leads to reach out to our Sales Team. Our Sales Team can funnel leads based on the initial information gathered by Zendesk.
Easy to use, user friendly and does not need long training. Easy to understand and make edits as well as changing the details.
Nothing. I did not find anything that I did not like infact This is my favorite CRM so far.
Confusions about the leads and the details. Additional sales.
I can see live updates from the customer while I can track the progress of it's resolution. The best part is that I can leave internal notes for the team
I've used Zendesk for over two years, this is my second company using it, and honestly, I am pretty happy with the product. I can track and organize tickets in a timely manner.
Tracking client issues and often I will also submit the client's matters via a ticket, our solutions engineer will work on them and we can also see who is taking care of the issue
I think it's extremely easy to use, and my favourite part is the calling feature. You can call directly from the web browser and their app too. I think Zendesk Sell is the best CRM tool for SMBs. I also love their texting feature!
We've been a customer since 2015 and honestly, the past design updates is a lot more functional and nicer than before. I also think that their reporting isn't the best compared to salesforce.
Sales funnel is a bit messy compared to other CRMs. I think if you have 10+ sales reps in your organization than this is probably not the best tool for you.
I like the way Zendesk is designed. It is simple to use but also powerful at the same time.
The mobile app could use some more work. It gets the job done, but it is best for viewing data, not inputting data.
We did not have an easy way to track our quotes, to follow up on leads, or track wins/losses. Zendesk solved all of those problems for us and more.
navigation is intuitive, the pre-defined reports cover a big percentage of the needs, and also, new smart lists are easy to create
The chronological comparison could be a bit tricky
sales funnel management, forecast, sales goals control, sale force KPIs and comparison, conversion rates, the average time of sales
Texting! There is no integration to fool with just text and go! Everything is all set up and ready for you after you sign up with Zensell. Texting, calling and email templates are simple. Plus having that extra phone number for pennies means you are not carrying two phones! What a smooth way to track your prospects!
It is a little pricey but after working with other CRMs and their integrations it is all worth it not to have the system breakdowns that integrations always seem to have.
Tracking! Right now I have a client from 6 months ago saying he wants more coaching. With Zensell I can easily go back read the notes, see the previous deal and offer something that fits him like a glove!
I like the ease of searching by number, contact name, location, time zone. I enjoy having the app and being able to easily find contacts and history.
I do not like the lag on the phone calls to the app sometimes when getting phone calls. I do not like how the texts show no notifications and how on the website, there is no feature to look at missed calls unless you go to call log. There is also not a feature to dial by the number on the app, which I feel would be super useful
We are finding it easy to create and organize contacts. It makes it easy to store all contacts in a particular company
Easiest Documentation to integrate with other software. Its a powerful and top sales management tool for business. Reminds business task and Reporting structure is very good. We can add lot of business activities as a notes. Make calls using system and track automatically. Its too much secure and mobile friendly to generate leads.
We did not find any issue to use Zendesk Sell. Excellent customer support to setup and manage tool.
Zendesk Sell is powerful CRM for business to do lot's of business activities easily. We can integrate with email software Mailchimp, In our consultancy business Zendesk Sell takes a roll to manage business to tracks business emails, calls data and we can customize report of sales team in few minutes. It comes in Annual and monthly Subscription for business. We have used Professional plan because there was no user limit to access it. It works well to customize notification of meetings, appointments. We can access it from any where to operate business task.
Zendesk Sell was complete and flexible to meet our needs, it has several features that we can use and smoothes the sales process, such as personalization of sales offers, automation of tasks and roles, sales forecasting, organization of smart lists and reporting. Our team really liked this tool as there are a ton of really great options and features along with a fairly easy to use user interface.
Until now it has been useful and we love the fact that it is very flexible to meet our needs, therefore there is nothing that I do not like, or inconveniences that we can think of.
It integrates very easily with Zendesk support ticket sales and has all the features like any other CRM, it can easily integrate with Pandadoc and send deals. You can send text messages, emails, and calls. Track agent productivity. The support team is also very good and friendly, always wants to help you solve all your problems and is online 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
We are able to automate tasks based on pipeline stage. This has been crucial to creating a consistent experience for clients.
We would like to see more options added in for integration (for example if we could integrate with our phone system and e-sign platform, this would increase our ability to automate).
We are solving for the need to track relationships and deals. One of the most helpful, unintended benefits has been the ability to sync emails and track conversations as needed.
It is easy to set up the challenge to call the advantage of returning in a year, and it is even better that the calling phone was registered. You can listen to me and when I follow up to know exactly what is going on successively, I got a clear idea of what lead sources are stronger so I can focus on them in the first place.
So far, it has been useful and we love the fact that it was versatile to meet our needs so there is nothing I do not like and there is nothing we can think about.
It has allowed me to solve my specific tasks and also increased my sales in an unexpected way for the company. The calls are nice because you can see your goals and your progress against them, it also keeps me aware of what is important. For example, a business called me to see if they were interested in my services and this helped me like they can't imagine.
ZenDesk Sell/Suite has a well thought through series of features that companies can seamlessly build on as their business grows and scales.
We are very satisfied with the ZenDesk Sell roadmap and having everything we need with the current version to get us to market.
We're building a Talent Collective of solo-entrepreneurs that serve as an extension of our business. ZenDesk Sell will provide them with a view of their client interactions and billing activity with the integration of Xero. Further, as we implement ZenDesk Suite, our support central approach will provide clients with support engagement options that speak to their current state of mind. If they don't have the patience to engage with text, they can engage by phone and be connected within minutes.
The way it integrates communication actions, and keeps all notes in one deal file to reference. We needed something that tracked activity, communication, and allowed for user engagement directly from the CRM and had a much larger system we cancelled so we could use SELL
The blending of duplicates can be a bit confusing, and sometimes it doesn't play nicely with IOS. We struggle with correlating the calendars with G-Suite products, and it would be nice to have different colors on the appointments for different users, so the appointment center can track the specific sales people that are with each customer.
We now have a system that tracks, and correlates all our customers in one place. It's not really meant for invoicing but that would be a good feature to include. We've realized the benefit of being able to integrate our customer tracking and communication all in one place. No longer need multiple file systems, and programs.
I really love this CRM platform! It makes it easy to keep yourself accountable and stay up on your last communications rather it be phone or email.
Not much to say here other than I wish the emails linked to the client and deal more consistently. It doesn't happen often but when it does I can still find them in my emails.
All the information is in one spot. My tasks, my products, my appointments, my emails, its just very convenient.
Professional layout - easy to use and navigate
Remembering not to save over my smart list
I am staying more on task being able to work from the deals in table view - as I can see everything there ($, dates, task) I like the idea of being able to add the task right from here as well.
I've used a LOT of CRM programs and this so function for me because it's so adaptable and easy to use. HUGELY USER FRIENDLY! AND it integrates with my gmail account so I can always see my specific communication with my clients. I talk this product up every chance I get because there's nothing quite like it.
I have a hard time trying to figure this one out. Sorry. There are a few of the functions I don't use. Perhaps there's something that I might dislike there, but I just don't know.
Staying on top of my communication history. My pipeline. My personalized email marketing is awesome.
Sales Program quite good, also shows very instinctive and customizable. To use it is quite simple and it is possible to enjoy enough information. I find the records of existing clients and new clients very good, it greatly facilitates your work.
It would be my pleasure if this program could be coupled to the different social networks and other necessary software, and it would be pretty good that the process to customize each user or contact was easier, such as uploading a photo that identifies it.
I currently use this program to manage the database of my clients, in general clients of the company where I work. You can establish a very good connection with other contacts and keep a kind of tracking activities. I was able to track many business activities such as sales, offers, acquisition of new and potential customers, this program is exactly what I was looking for, it makes your work very easy and really fast.
Zendesk is my most essential tool in my role as a sales individual. I work in three different states and need to have three different brains for each. Base takes the crazy and organizes it. Base thinks hard, so I don't have to. I can just build relationships. I don't know how anyone can successfully follow up with contacts without an organized, beautiful and simple sales platform like Zendesk. If you're not using it, you're forgetting something.
When I look at all my tasks in the general "tasks" list, I have occasionally "checked" one off on accident. In this form, I wish it asked me- "are you sure you wish to complete this task?" You could add a "check this box if you no longer wish to see this message" - for people who like checking things off quickly like that for some reason. PLEASE somehow incorporate a map feature with the tasks...that would be AMAZING. I have to keep track of my own map system I've created. It's the only thing Zendesk doesn't do for me.
Zendesk is my memory. It remembers everything for me and reminds me of what I need to do.... I just get to be friendly.
