You are able to save multiple files into one folder for a group to review. Because of this though it makes navigating through the different files very difficult and time consuming.
It is very disorganized. It is hard to find a file in the mist of many files. It is also difficult to find certain information within the file.
It is trying to keep our team and colleagues organized however I think other programs achieve this better.
Their platform is a worse version of keeping an excel spreadsheet online but their conditional formatting is lacking especially if you are using the dashboard features.
Everything. Conditional formatting limited, dashboards unimaginative and lacking. A major concern is if you need customer service, you will NEVER get someone on the phone or even an email rebuttal. The automated email when you message support sends two links the help center and community for generic responses.
smart sheet is easier to use on smart phones over excel but for in office applications it is a much worse version of excel.
It had a to do list and you can check off
Design was dated. Not fun to use and had trouble with it
No one used it and it didn't help us at all
This is only good for creating forms for people to fill out/tracking those answers.
Messy!! Hard to organize. Can’t drag more than one line at a time
Creating forms for customers
End-user development. This is an online spreadsheet, a 21st Century version of Excel on steroids. As a spreadsheet it allows very flexible form & function, the most flexible I've ever seen in an app. I'm also impressed by how well this company executes its vision. It's solid. I've only needed tech support once and I got a reply within 3 hours.
Slowest app to load, sometimes takes several reloads for app to become available. Slower than any other app I use. Downtime for maintenance. Have to log back in after maintenance. Adertisement banners appearing across top of page more and more. Can't merge cells. Did I mention it's s-l-o-o-o-o-w?
Many. Smartsheet is a smart online spreadsheet, so I use it anywhere I need to create custom tables, lists, or spreadsheets.
Displaying change history, Sights - not having to pay for users that are read-only
Minimal extra features beyond Google Apps (which is less expensive) Doesn't auto-save DNS entry required for forced domain membership
Employee responses for business controls Tracking tasks
I liked the calendar feature the best. I liked that you could filter tasks only to see your own. I think if I got to know more about the features and capabilities, I would like it more.
it's like excel only more complicated and more expensive
We can each share a calendar and it can update in real time. I wish it auto saved like google docs. I have forgotten to save and closed the window and unfortunately have lost some of my work. We have been able to share our meeting timeline with our entire team and keep track of all of the projects from our Annual Session.
Plenty of customization; it can be tailored to your visual ideal.
Navigating the various parts can become a little disorienting; there's not always an obvious path or connection between aspects.
The only problem Smartsheet has "solved" is that the corporate accounting office has slightly less work to do, while increasing the amount of work down by each individual branch.
It is external from the other programs that we use such as workfront and salesforce. The color coding is nice
it is not very user friendly or easy to set up for a new employee. I remember there being issues with permissions and functionality when I first tried to access SmartSheet.
It helps us track the fulfillment process of email campaigns and keep everything organized by blast date. It is a good back up method for project management and tracking.
The tools are nice but a lot of it replicates what Google SpreadSheet or Microsoft Excel does.
The UI and UX is horrible. Not much different than just using another Spreadsheet program.
Originally we wanted to use their Gnatt chart feature, but that was pretty complicated, we ended up using JIRA for planning charts. We still use it for weekly testing docs, but are looking to switch.
I liked that several people could log in at the same time and see what each other is working on in real-time. I also liked how customizable everything was.
I did not like that it was just based on timelines and spreadsheets. There were no functionalities to actually help accomplish the tasks that were assigned.
We were solving the issue of having project managers in several different locations and being able to log in and see what each other is doing in real-time. We were able to get very specific and detailed with our timelines and tasks that needed to be accomplished.
I like how it's set-up in a similar fashion to Excel. It also has the cascading functionality by using predecessors that makes it easy to update linear schedules.
It's difficult to create multi-tiered/layered schedules. It's not intuitive for our creative team to use, therefore they don't use it. It offers very little schedule building flexibility.
We are trying to solve for having a system that keeps our teams on track and everyone aware of their project schedules without having to be totally reliant on their PM's. We have not realized a benefit from Smartsheet for this yet.
Buyer beware...man these guys boost about having 80,000 users?! For the cost they charge to actually use and benefit from their service you could create your own functioning excel sheets or web based platform. This is just a note for those who don't enjoy being robbed or overpaying for a service from a fly-by-night company.
The cost and breakdown of the 3 options...they need to do a better job at making their better services available for companies that do no want a horde of members.
It's convenient but not for the cost.
That more people can be on it than one person and you can make changes.
too many emails about updates. The emails doesn't show you the information so you still have to go to the sheet. Printing it is tedious.
Assigning of work available.
I thought I would like the Google Sheets add-on using Smartsheet, but was quickly mistaken.
I have experienced the worst customer service and subscription experience with this company. My 30-day trial was excellent and I had high hopes for working with them. Once I paid for a year subscription, I began to have issues with my account. I attempted to contact their development team for assistance and quickly learned they are completely unreachable by phone, the company has no customer service department and any communication would need to be electronic. Since I am EST and they are PST, all communications took a full business day between email exchanges. When I called to talk to them (a sales rep attempted to help me with my customer service issue) I was told I couldn't speak with the technical support. When my tech support person, Shaine, did email me, he gave me information to cancel my account and told me I would need to record my screen and send it to them, which is not a capability I have. I have struggled with this program not working for close to two weeks and the best this company could offer was account cancellation information and requesting a screen recording. I would NOT recommend this company to anyone -- business or individual.
I thought the program would solve a work-around I was having to perform in my job, but it has caused more issues than I had before.
