Apollo.io Pros and Cons
- Extensive B2B Database
- All-in-One Platform
- User-Friendly Interface
- Powerful Integrations
- Customizable Sales Engagement
- Learning Curve
- Data Accuracy
Every paid Apollo.io plan buys credits at almost exactly the same rate — about 51 credits per dollar of annual spend. Basic gives 30,000 credits for $588 a year, Professional 48,000 for $948, and Organization 72,000 for $1,428. The variance across all three is 1.2%. That means upgrading never improves your credit economics, so the only reason to move up a tier is a feature you need — which is a genuinely useful thing to know before a sales call.
- What it is: An all-in-one sales engagement platform — contact database, sequences, dialler, deal management, and enrichment.
- Best for: Outbound sales teams who want prospecting data and the tooling to act on it in one subscription.
- Pricing: Free, Basic $49, Professional $79, Organization $119 per seat monthly on annual billing. Verified July 2026.
- The honest catch: Organization requires a minimum of three seats, so its real floor is $357 a month.
What Is Apollo.io?
Apollo combines two things most teams buy separately: a B2B contact database and the outbound machinery to work it. You search for prospects, enrich them, sequence them across email and phone, and manage the resulting deals without leaving the platform. Its pricing page groups features into four solutions — Outbound, Inbound, Data Enrichment, and Deal Execution — and states that all tiers include every solution.
Credits are the meter, and they cover the consumption-based actions: revealing contact details, enriching records, and similar lookups. Everything else — sequences, extensions, deliverability tooling — is gated by tier rather than metered.
How Apollo.io Works
- Priced per seat, with credits as the usage meter.
- Paid plans grant credits upfront for the year; the free plan grants them monthly.
- The credit rate is effectively flat across all three paid tiers.
- Organization requires three seats minimum.
- Sequences go unlimited from Basic; free is capped at two.
- The AI Assistant is marked “introductory free” on every paid tier.
Apollo.io Pricing
Captured from Apollo’s pricing page in July 2026 in US dollars, reading both billing toggles.
| Plan | Annual | Monthly | Credits/seat/yr | Granted | Seats |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Free | $0 | $0 | 900 | Monthly | 1+ |
| Basic | $49 | $65 | 30,000 | Upfront | 1+ |
| Professional | $79 | $99 | 48,000 | Upfront | 1+ |
| Organization | $119 | $149 | 72,000 | Upfront | 3 minimum |
What actually decides your plan:
- Upgrading does not buy you cheaper credits. Basic is 51.0 credits per dollar, Professional 50.6, Organization 50.4 — a 1.2% spread. If a sales conversation frames a higher tier as better value on data volume, the published numbers do not support it. Choose your tier on features: A/Z testing and call recordings at Professional, intent data, API enrichment, and automated workflows at Organization.
- Paid credits are granted upfront for the whole year. That is a real and unadvertised advantage. A team running a heavy Q1 campaign can spend most of its annual allowance in January rather than being rationed to a twelfth each month. The free plan does the opposite — 900 credits a year granted monthly, so 75 a month, which is roughly two or three lookups a day.
- Organization’s three-seat minimum makes its floor $357 a month. That is $4,284 a year before anything else, so the step from Professional is far larger than $40 a seat suggests for a small team.
- The free plan is a demo, not a tool. Two sequences, a five-chat limit on the AI assistant, basic filters, and 75 credits a month. It is enough to see whether Apollo has the contacts you need and nothing more.
- The AI Assistant is “introductory free” on all paid plans. It appears as a listed feature with that label, which means it is not currently charged and may be later. Worth asking what it will cost before you build a workflow around it.
- The 24% annual saving applies to Basic only. Basic is $65 monthly against $49 annually — 24.6% — but Professional ($99 to $79) and Organization ($149 to $119) both work out at about 20%. The badge reads “SAVE 24%” without an “up to”.
Who Should Use Apollo.io
- Outbound sales teams. The clearest case — database, sequencing, and dialling in one place removes two vendors.
- Startups building a first sales motion. Basic at $49 with 30,000 credits and unlimited sequences is a complete outbound stack.
- Teams doing bursty campaigns. Upfront annual credits suit concentrated prospecting far better than monthly rationing.
- Companies wanting intent data. Organization’s 12 intent topics and intent filters are the reason to reach that tier.
It fits poorly for teams that only need contact data, where Hunter’s unlimited seats are cheaper; for enterprise account-based programmes, where ZoomInfo’s depth justifies its cost; and for small teams eyeing Organization, given the three-seat floor.
Honest Pros and Cons
Strengths
- A genuinely all-in-one platform — data, sequences, dialler, and deals.
- Annual credits granted upfront, which suits campaign-shaped work.
- Unlimited sequences from Basic, not reserved for higher tiers.
- Deliverability suite and email warmup included from the entry paid plan.
- A permanently free tier for evaluating the database.
- Transparent credit allowances, published per tier.
Limitations
- Upgrades do not improve the credit rate — flat at ~51 per dollar.
- Organization needs three seats, a $357 monthly floor.
- The free plan’s 900 credits a year is about 75 a month.
- Per-seat pricing adds up quickly against seat-free competitors.
- The AI Assistant is only “introductory free”, with no published future price.
- The 24% annual claim holds on Basic only; the other tiers save about 20%.
Apollo.io Alternatives and How It Compares
- Hunter includes unlimited team members on every plan and charges only for credits, which is structurally cheaper for teams.
- ZoomInfo is the enterprise standard with deeper data and intent signals, at considerably higher cost.
- Seamless.AI competes on real-time contact search rather than an all-in-one platform.
- Lemlist covers the outreach half well and pairs with a separate data source.
- Clay takes a different approach, orchestrating multiple data providers through a spreadsheet interface.
- Outreach and Salesloft are the enterprise sales-engagement incumbents, without Apollo’s bundled database.

The Verdict
Apollo’s appeal is consolidation. Buying a contact database, a sequencing tool, and a dialler separately costs more and creates handoffs, and Apollo does all three competently from $49 a seat with unlimited sequences and a deliverability suite included at the entry paid tier. For a startup building its first outbound motion, that is a lot of stack for the money.
The most useful thing to know before you talk to them is that the credit rate does not improve as you climb. Basic delivers 51.0 credits per dollar of annual spend, Professional 50.6, and Organization 50.4 — a spread of 1.2%, which is noise. Whatever a higher tier is worth, it is not worth it on data volume, so decide between them purely on capability: A/Z testing and call recordings at Professional, and intent topics, API enrichment, mailbox purchasing, and automated workflows at Organization. If you simply need more credits at the same rate, adding a seat does the same job as upgrading.
Two practical notes. Paid credits are granted upfront for the whole year, which is genuinely valuable if your prospecting is campaign-shaped rather than steady, and Apollo does not market it as a benefit at all — the free plan, by contrast, doles out 900 credits across twelve months. And Organization requires three seats, so its real entry point is $357 a month rather than $119; a two-person team wanting intent data will find that gap larger than the per-seat prices suggest. Finally, note that the AI Assistant carries an “introductory free” label on every paid card, which is a feature you are being shown but not permanently sold.
FAQ
How much does Apollo.io cost?
Captured in July 2026 in US dollars: Free at $0, Basic $49 per seat per month billed annually, Professional $79, and Organization $119 with a three-seat minimum. On monthly billing those become $65, $99, and $149. Annual credit allowances are 900, 30,000, 48,000, and 72,000 per seat respectively, with paid plans granting the full year upfront.
Do Apollo’s higher plans include cheaper credits?
No. By our arithmetic from the published figures, Basic works out at 51.0 credits per dollar of annual spend, Professional at 50.6, and Organization at 50.4 — a spread of just 1.2%. Upgrading buys features such as A/Z testing, call recordings, intent data, and API enrichment, not better credit economics. If you only need more credits, adding a seat achieves the same rate.
How are Apollo’s credits granted?
Paid plans grant the full annual allowance upfront, so a team can spend heavily in one month rather than being limited to a twelfth at a time. The free plan grants its 900 annual credits monthly instead, which works out at 75 a month. For campaign-shaped prospecting the upfront grant is a meaningful advantage, and Apollo does not highlight it on the pricing page.
Does Apollo.io have a seat minimum?
The Organization plan requires a minimum of three seats, making its real floor $357 per month on annual billing rather than the $119 shown. Free, Basic, and Professional have no stated minimum. For a small team wanting Organization’s intent data and automated workflows, that minimum is a larger consideration than the per-seat price difference.
Apollo.io or Hunter?
They are priced on opposite principles. Apollo charges per seat and bundles a large database with sequencing, dialling, and deal management. Hunter charges only for credits with unlimited team members on every plan, and is narrower — email finding, verification, and outreach. For a five-person team needing the full outbound stack, Apollo is the more complete tool; for the same team needing contact data and email, Hunter is structurally cheaper.

Apollo has consistently delivered essential information whenever I've needed it. Since day one at my previous company, I relied on Apollo, especially in our B2B industry. It consistently provided crucial information from our prospects, and I achieved numerous successful leads with its assistance. Even in my current role at a different company, I continue to rely on Apollo for its invaluable support.
Some of the prospects either do not have an email address or lack a direct phone number. While they may possess a phone number, it is often a general number associated with their headquarters. In such cases, I need to obtain the specific contact number of the prospect's current workplace or within my target region.
The email address of the prospects and their phone number if the company is operating in just one country. It helps me because these information are important in validating the success leads.
Apollo .io is great tool that is helping me in achieving the goals for my business and the software is convenient and easy to use. It gives us the best insight for the available leads. Detailed preview and company logo makes it easier for us to navigate and hit right on the target. Even unverrified and guessed emails are correct 99.9%. Fantastic tool!!
I don't seem to find all the company in Apollo database. I beleive they are still working on it and will be able to give us best results in the coming future.
Apollo is helping me finding the right POI for my business. I was able to reach to my clients directly and easily. It saves me enormous number of calls that I was making earlier inn order to reach my customers.
I can find relevant people in my field. I am using Apollo over 1 year
To be honest, I don't have any words for Apollo
If I can get phone numbers it will be beneficial to me.
The pricing model is perfect for our unique needs, the information is valuable and the contact data is accurate.
I'm doing so manual processes for looking up companies via Google, adding to hubspot and then using Apollo to find the contact I need. I don't have the need for enterprise which would fix this.
Finding leads!
I get to pick key decision makers by myself, there's more than enough information at hand, the emails I get from there are all verified, unlike contactout or crunchbase
Nothing, it's actually a useful tool in prospecting and leads generation/qualifying, but they need to widen the range of CRM's compatible with their system
Apollo.io saves me the stress of going the extra mile to prospect, all the information I need to start a sales process on a lead, I have it there on apollo.io
the google feel related to finding information for different contacts (emails + personal/company LinkedIns. I also enjoy how free it is.
How long it takes for the emails to be verified, sometimes I am uncertain if they ever will be.
Finding emails for prospects as well as their companies + LinkedIns
I've been using Apollo for months now, and the results are definitely better than any other software. I find it incredibly useful to have not just the phone and email but also the LinkedIn profile, which is incredibly handy when you find leads you want to contact directly. No lead goes to waste because you can either add them to a sequence, phone them, or contact them directly on social channels. The other thing I use quite a lot is the Management Level filter so that I can target only decision-makers. Considering all the options and features, I find it very affordable, especially comparing the number of exports per month with other similar software.
The platform is a little slow at times when you manage high amounts of leads searches, but it doesn't affect the usability.
I can find thousands of leads in a few minutes, save them on lists and navigate to select the most targeted once before exporting, saving a lot of time and keeping my outreach really targeted.
Scans the linkedin profile and gives out the available email and phone number.
Well sometimes so key companies information are not traceable.
Apollo is giving out the linkedin linksof most companies and the decision makers profiles too. This is the most crucial information for me in day to day life to comlete my job.
I love being able to add contacts to mutliple lists and being able to share those lists with my colleagues so that we are all on the same page and looped into one another's business development. I was able to get contact details for people regardless of where they were based.
I can't quite put a finger on anything that I did dislike about Apollo
As a recruiter, one of the most challenging aspects of the job is finding contact details for key people in organisations, this often takes us down a rabbit hole trying to find the correct email or phone number. Using Apollo, made it so easy and convenient. Being able to dial out and email from Apollo was the cherry on top.
What I like most about Apollo is the accuracy of the information, the hundreds of ways to create filters, and that it's a platform that allows me to manage and warm up my domains to ensure email deliverability
The platform has nothing wrong with it for me; on the contrary, it's a very robust platform. However, if I could suggest an improvement, it would be for Apollo to also function as a CRM since when running email sequences, there's no easy way to track information with prospects.
creating databases to run email marketing campaigns for my company en Latin America.
The thing that I like best about Apollo.io is that it provides e-mail IDs that too in free. I am in sales so I actively require contact details to gain connects for increasing sales. Most all the email IDs that you find are all accurate so the chances of connection increases. I love it.

Apollo.io is great in helping me in generating leads without paying a hefty amount. It gives most confidential information about a person which gets really helpful.
Well, the best thing about Apollo is that they provide everything that they promise on their website & before you pay or login. Getting what was promised is probably the best thing.
Nothing really. Apollo has everything my business & I were looking for. From features to functionality, they have it all perfect. There are no glitches, bugs or any other hassle.
Our company focuses on technology & marketing solutions. Cold out reach was difficult & a challenge for us but after Apollo, we are doing extremely well with cold out reach.
Made my life at work a lot easier. Fast way to get directly to prospects and has boosted sales for our company too.
Sometimes I have to sit there and individually sent emails
Sales Nav and LinkedIn was out main source to prospects this has amplified our sales by giving us another Avenue to reach prospects
the accuracy of the tool for providing required email and phone number for sales outreach and the simple intiutive UI of Apollo makes everything easy acess on the dashboard itself
there are instanances where the tool has serious glitches which effect previous saved work on the platform and making it unbearble when you cant recover the progress
we wanted a tool that could provide us the most amount of data with accuracy and helps us scale our buiness to new industy and countries, and apollo has delivered that and helped us grow
You can search information that you needed from your prospect. It will give you a valid information that can be used for your sales. You can get more leads.
I think dislike is a word that can't be given to apollo.io, you can have them and use it for your company. Simple thing that I don't like, got my work more faster.
The time you consume in doing research and listing leads or prospect will help you do some work for the future.that means you can have lists for future work. Thanks Apollo io
Apollo.io's contact database, automation features, analytics, and user-friendliness are some of its standout qualities. It's a powerful tool for anyone in sales and marketing looking to streamline their efforts and drive better results
Pricing is on the higher side. We are a startup and really cannot afford to put money in tools like this. Perhaps offering startup benefits would be great. While Apollo.io is generally user-friendly, some users might find it takes a bit of time to get fully acquainted with all its features and functionalities, especially if they are new to sales and marketing automation tools.
Apollo.io solves the problem of efficient lead generation and outreach for sales and marketing professionals. It benefits me by saving time on prospecting, automating outreach, and providing valuable insights to improve campaign performance
It's easy to focus and targer a specific industry for lead generation. The credits offer from. Apollo are great. The email follows up ready to offer assistance.
More updates of new business would be a good thing to add. Everything else is great
No problems so far Needs new business leads like adding new businesses to the platform On productivity and contact information everything is going very well. Great
LinkedIn integration through Chrome extension is game-changing - can build lists and send outreach right from LinkedIn profiles Email automation with templates and sequences saves tons of time and effort Intuitive interface - very easy to use even with no training Great for startups and teams with limited resources to scale outreach Have seen much higher connection and response rates since using Apollo
Primary automation is for email follow-ups - expanding to other channels like Twitter or LinkedIn messages could make it even more powerful Would be great to have integrated LinkedIn InMail sending capabilities as well While best-in-class for email, more omnichannel automation support could make Apollo hard to beat
Manual prospecting and outreach was time consuming and inefficient Building targeted prospect lists and sending individualized connection requests on LinkedIn was tedious Following up with prospects via email sequences was difficult to scale Apollo simplifies and automates these processes to save huge time and effort LinkedIn integration allows seamless prospecting and outreach right from profiles Email templates and sequencing enables personalized follow-up at scale Have seen major increases in connection accepts and engagement since using Apollo Platform eliminates manual work so I can focus on higher value sales activities Workflow automation enables me to achieve more with the same resources/headcount Especially beneficial as a startup with limited team bandwidth Allows me to scale outbound in a personalized way despite resource constraints
The accurate database, good useful information
limited functionality unless you are a paid subsciber
Finding contact information in my target prospects
Easy user interface and its ability to verify emails and phone numbers. It has every company I want to learn about and more. I also like the search filters has they take the work out of searching through contacts at a company.
Only downside I could think of would be the outdated contacts that I see sometimes. I attept to send them an email and it bounces back to me right away. This obviously isn't easy to improve but verifications may be helpful here.
It's allowing me to find contact information for people that are hard to get in touch with. It makes it simple for me to find emails, phone numbers and verify that those contacts are able to be contacted.
It produces results that are more valid compared to other web tools online. It's also easy to use and has lots of useful features and functionalities.
Nothing that I can think of at this time.
Lead Generation and Prospecting, Contact Enrichment, Sales Engagement, Analytics and Reporting, Data Quality, Workflow Automation
The simplicity of uploading contacts to outreach, number / title accuracy
I made a sequence yesterday and some numbers and titles were not accurate / lacked multiple links to users linkedin
The number quality / quantity has enabled my team and I to better outreach to clients
Apollo is a great product providing a large variety of functionnalities. The Chrome extension is very useful and workiing very well.
Unfortunately Apollo doesn't have a native connector to our CRM Pipedrive
Apollo is faciilitating our lead research and data base enrichment. It is also helping us automate our prospecting sequences
It's an easy to use interphase because it connects as an extention to your browser.
At the moment, I have not found any flaws that I dislike.
Apollo.io is building a quick and easy way to process data insights online. It saves me a lot of time from having to find people's contact info on Google.
the functionality is very intuitive, EU-based data is absolutely incredible and even though I'm just in the free plan right now, I can do a lot of stuff where others restrict heavily. Thanks Apollo! Will be upgrading soon!
I did not run into anything to complain about, yet.
Finding the right leads. Our customerbase is pretty niche right now, but Apollo delivers.
Apollo is very user friendly, fast and provides with the information in a very systematic format. The way it has categories and filters is the most appealing part.
Its not a drawback, but it would be great if it would also show the Individuals picture (for Individual search) that would confirm to us its the same individual just in one go.
It helps me to confirm the individuals and company details listed in it, at just at one click to be reached out for transaction purpose. Its helps us to save ample amount of time trying to search manually on different sites. It is very reliable and the filters make it more easy to make a search. It definately has a great good impact in the business of the company.
I have had an amazing experience. Especially, with the phone numbers of the DM.
Nothinga s such with apollo I have disliked
Apollo has been benefiting me connect with the correct decison makers of the company. it has helped me increase my productivity plus the reach out to make my workflow smoother.
I love how intuitive Apollo.io is to use and how it is helping me streamline my efforts, find leads, and stay organized.
I have not found any downsides to using Apollo.io.
Apollo.io is helping me track my leads, gain new ones, as well as organize what follow up needs to happen with each one of them.
If you are looking for a lead that is important for you to sell your product or manage your campaign, most of the time I was looking at multiple lead search engines. However, if you do not find a lead in Apollo, it is nearly impossible to find with other search engines. That means for me, spending less time to search a lead with at least 3 different engines. I am only using Apollo to find leads.
Even if I made bulk imports to my contacts to Apollo.io The process leads me to find contacts (lead's mail) one by one. This is time consuming. What is the point of bulk import if I am not using Apollo as a CRM system?
It helped me to find leads. As I said, the lead finding is a time consuming process. If I am finding more leads in less time, it is a great benefit for me. It nearly doubled my performance.
Nice UX, easy to learn, always bringing webinars with tips, lots of contacts.
A few e-mail bugs, that's all, More integrations missing
Bringing in new clients and leveraging the pipeline absurdly
