Apollo.io Pros and Cons
- Extensive B2B Database
- All-in-One Platform
- User-Friendly Interface
- Powerful Integrations
- Customizable Sales Engagement
- Learning Curve
- Data Accuracy
Every paid Apollo.io plan buys credits at almost exactly the same rate — about 51 credits per dollar of annual spend. Basic gives 30,000 credits for $588 a year, Professional 48,000 for $948, and Organization 72,000 for $1,428. The variance across all three is 1.2%. That means upgrading never improves your credit economics, so the only reason to move up a tier is a feature you need — which is a genuinely useful thing to know before a sales call.
- What it is: An all-in-one sales engagement platform — contact database, sequences, dialler, deal management, and enrichment.
- Best for: Outbound sales teams who want prospecting data and the tooling to act on it in one subscription.
- Pricing: Free, Basic $49, Professional $79, Organization $119 per seat monthly on annual billing. Verified July 2026.
- The honest catch: Organization requires a minimum of three seats, so its real floor is $357 a month.
What Is Apollo.io?
Apollo combines two things most teams buy separately: a B2B contact database and the outbound machinery to work it. You search for prospects, enrich them, sequence them across email and phone, and manage the resulting deals without leaving the platform. Its pricing page groups features into four solutions — Outbound, Inbound, Data Enrichment, and Deal Execution — and states that all tiers include every solution.
Credits are the meter, and they cover the consumption-based actions: revealing contact details, enriching records, and similar lookups. Everything else — sequences, extensions, deliverability tooling — is gated by tier rather than metered.
How Apollo.io Works
- Priced per seat, with credits as the usage meter.
- Paid plans grant credits upfront for the year; the free plan grants them monthly.
- The credit rate is effectively flat across all three paid tiers.
- Organization requires three seats minimum.
- Sequences go unlimited from Basic; free is capped at two.
- The AI Assistant is marked “introductory free” on every paid tier.
Apollo.io Pricing
Captured from Apollo’s pricing page in July 2026 in US dollars, reading both billing toggles.
| Plan | Annual | Monthly | Credits/seat/yr | Granted | Seats |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Free | $0 | $0 | 900 | Monthly | 1+ |
| Basic | $49 | $65 | 30,000 | Upfront | 1+ |
| Professional | $79 | $99 | 48,000 | Upfront | 1+ |
| Organization | $119 | $149 | 72,000 | Upfront | 3 minimum |
What actually decides your plan:
- Upgrading does not buy you cheaper credits. Basic is 51.0 credits per dollar, Professional 50.6, Organization 50.4 — a 1.2% spread. If a sales conversation frames a higher tier as better value on data volume, the published numbers do not support it. Choose your tier on features: A/Z testing and call recordings at Professional, intent data, API enrichment, and automated workflows at Organization.
- Paid credits are granted upfront for the whole year. That is a real and unadvertised advantage. A team running a heavy Q1 campaign can spend most of its annual allowance in January rather than being rationed to a twelfth each month. The free plan does the opposite — 900 credits a year granted monthly, so 75 a month, which is roughly two or three lookups a day.
- Organization’s three-seat minimum makes its floor $357 a month. That is $4,284 a year before anything else, so the step from Professional is far larger than $40 a seat suggests for a small team.
- The free plan is a demo, not a tool. Two sequences, a five-chat limit on the AI assistant, basic filters, and 75 credits a month. It is enough to see whether Apollo has the contacts you need and nothing more.
- The AI Assistant is “introductory free” on all paid plans. It appears as a listed feature with that label, which means it is not currently charged and may be later. Worth asking what it will cost before you build a workflow around it.
- The 24% annual saving applies to Basic only. Basic is $65 monthly against $49 annually — 24.6% — but Professional ($99 to $79) and Organization ($149 to $119) both work out at about 20%. The badge reads “SAVE 24%” without an “up to”.
Who Should Use Apollo.io
- Outbound sales teams. The clearest case — database, sequencing, and dialling in one place removes two vendors.
- Startups building a first sales motion. Basic at $49 with 30,000 credits and unlimited sequences is a complete outbound stack.
- Teams doing bursty campaigns. Upfront annual credits suit concentrated prospecting far better than monthly rationing.
- Companies wanting intent data. Organization’s 12 intent topics and intent filters are the reason to reach that tier.
It fits poorly for teams that only need contact data, where Hunter’s unlimited seats are cheaper; for enterprise account-based programmes, where ZoomInfo’s depth justifies its cost; and for small teams eyeing Organization, given the three-seat floor.
Honest Pros and Cons
Strengths
- A genuinely all-in-one platform — data, sequences, dialler, and deals.
- Annual credits granted upfront, which suits campaign-shaped work.
- Unlimited sequences from Basic, not reserved for higher tiers.
- Deliverability suite and email warmup included from the entry paid plan.
- A permanently free tier for evaluating the database.
- Transparent credit allowances, published per tier.
Limitations
- Upgrades do not improve the credit rate — flat at ~51 per dollar.
- Organization needs three seats, a $357 monthly floor.
- The free plan’s 900 credits a year is about 75 a month.
- Per-seat pricing adds up quickly against seat-free competitors.
- The AI Assistant is only “introductory free”, with no published future price.
- The 24% annual claim holds on Basic only; the other tiers save about 20%.
Apollo.io Alternatives and How It Compares
- Hunter includes unlimited team members on every plan and charges only for credits, which is structurally cheaper for teams.
- ZoomInfo is the enterprise standard with deeper data and intent signals, at considerably higher cost.
- Seamless.AI competes on real-time contact search rather than an all-in-one platform.
- Lemlist covers the outreach half well and pairs with a separate data source.
- Clay takes a different approach, orchestrating multiple data providers through a spreadsheet interface.
- Outreach and Salesloft are the enterprise sales-engagement incumbents, without Apollo’s bundled database.

The Verdict
Apollo’s appeal is consolidation. Buying a contact database, a sequencing tool, and a dialler separately costs more and creates handoffs, and Apollo does all three competently from $49 a seat with unlimited sequences and a deliverability suite included at the entry paid tier. For a startup building its first outbound motion, that is a lot of stack for the money.
The most useful thing to know before you talk to them is that the credit rate does not improve as you climb. Basic delivers 51.0 credits per dollar of annual spend, Professional 50.6, and Organization 50.4 — a spread of 1.2%, which is noise. Whatever a higher tier is worth, it is not worth it on data volume, so decide between them purely on capability: A/Z testing and call recordings at Professional, and intent topics, API enrichment, mailbox purchasing, and automated workflows at Organization. If you simply need more credits at the same rate, adding a seat does the same job as upgrading.
Two practical notes. Paid credits are granted upfront for the whole year, which is genuinely valuable if your prospecting is campaign-shaped rather than steady, and Apollo does not market it as a benefit at all — the free plan, by contrast, doles out 900 credits across twelve months. And Organization requires three seats, so its real entry point is $357 a month rather than $119; a two-person team wanting intent data will find that gap larger than the per-seat prices suggest. Finally, note that the AI Assistant carries an “introductory free” label on every paid card, which is a feature you are being shown but not permanently sold.
FAQ
How much does Apollo.io cost?
Captured in July 2026 in US dollars: Free at $0, Basic $49 per seat per month billed annually, Professional $79, and Organization $119 with a three-seat minimum. On monthly billing those become $65, $99, and $149. Annual credit allowances are 900, 30,000, 48,000, and 72,000 per seat respectively, with paid plans granting the full year upfront.
Do Apollo’s higher plans include cheaper credits?
No. By our arithmetic from the published figures, Basic works out at 51.0 credits per dollar of annual spend, Professional at 50.6, and Organization at 50.4 — a spread of just 1.2%. Upgrading buys features such as A/Z testing, call recordings, intent data, and API enrichment, not better credit economics. If you only need more credits, adding a seat achieves the same rate.
How are Apollo’s credits granted?
Paid plans grant the full annual allowance upfront, so a team can spend heavily in one month rather than being limited to a twelfth at a time. The free plan grants its 900 annual credits monthly instead, which works out at 75 a month. For campaign-shaped prospecting the upfront grant is a meaningful advantage, and Apollo does not highlight it on the pricing page.
Does Apollo.io have a seat minimum?
The Organization plan requires a minimum of three seats, making its real floor $357 per month on annual billing rather than the $119 shown. Free, Basic, and Professional have no stated minimum. For a small team wanting Organization’s intent data and automated workflows, that minimum is a larger consideration than the per-seat price difference.
Apollo.io or Hunter?
They are priced on opposite principles. Apollo charges per seat and bundles a large database with sequencing, dialling, and deal management. Hunter charges only for credits with unlimited team members on every plan, and is narrower — email finding, verification, and outreach. For a five-person team needing the full outbound stack, Apollo is the more complete tool; for the same team needing contact data and email, Hunter is structurally cheaper.

Apollo database+ the approach to leads through sequences and cold calling make it perfect to get qualified leads every day
There is nothing i dislike about apollo. Even when we are having issues with the platform the support team is really quick on their response
Getting qualified leads in the B2B is usually not an easy task specially when working remotely. Apollo helps the acquire qualified leads that are interested in our services, in our case, through cold calling.
It was quite easy to use and I am a frequent user of this product
Nothing that I can think off, its a great product
I require mail ids, finding email formats on google takes time. This saves me time
Sequencing and sourcing data all in one spot
The chrome integration is buggy. But it works well at times
Organizing my outreach and follow ups
For us as a small team, having data+outreach+conversation intelligence centralized in one place save us a lot of time and money.
It mainly integrates with Salesforce and Hubspot. Connections via Zapier with other minor CRM's like ActiveCampaign CRM lacks of triggers.
Apollo allows me to find my ICP leads in seconds and push them to sequences without switching apps. I can manage multi channel campaings with Apollo and ,for the price, $99 per month, that is bang for the buck.
Love the value add Apollo offers to B2B platforms
Nothing, love everything about what Apollo does!
Helps me find contact details of leads and the platform also helps me send out email campaigns
I sust got a job 3 months in sales at a company selling Microsoft Office Templates, and in three months I bought in $150K in total sales with the help of Apollo! Their customer support is amazing and you get help within minutes from a REAL human! Also one of the best priced services out there!
Honestly the only downside with Apollo is that the website is not mobile friendly at all. So sometimes I have problems managing Apollo on the go, also the design is a bit outdated, would love to se a more clean "Apple" inspired design.
The problem they are solving is finding leads and sending out personalized emails that have a high hit rate
Well, If you are entering into any new territory - and do not have any clue of the regional top business leaders. this is the best way to go. If you know how to target your leads on LinkedIn, same is expected here and you are connected and a well designed sequence is generated for your cold emails. we have attained good contacts and leads out of this software while we are targettgin the middle east clients.
we are expecting that something should be done as once we start the sequence the MS Outlook bans our email for sometimes. so there should be some way to mitigate this issue.
The biggest problem is that ever if you are connected with someone at 1st level, you don't have his/her cell phone. Appolo provides the mobile phone immediately and I love that feature.
i personaly think apollo is the best b2b marketing tool avaialbe that really increase sales output by 5* from how easy it is to setup and maintain
how confusing it can get adding differnt sequences with multi users on the same account
having all of our outreach clients on the same platform and ofcurse the data analysis it offers on who responds and when
It makes lead generation easier because of its features like lead criteria or filtered search. Also, one can easily save contacts within the platform and then export as csv whenever needed.
Maybe it's a little more expensive than the other tools, but it only allows monthly export of 1000 contacts. I think their basic plan can be priced lower, but overall, it's user friendly and offers lots of advantages for lead generation experts.
It solves the tedious tasks of lead mining and qualification and it benefits me in a way that I save a lot of time versus using other tools or doing manual leads scraping.
The service provider is amazing as it integrates with your Gmail and linkedin and makes your life easier. The emails ids provided are all accurate and I have loved Apollo servcice.
Customer Support I have not used so frequently
The problem of getting the right contact sitting in India and looking for data for SEA & EMEA markets.
Easy to use and understand interface, nice branding and relevant data
It only works for executives and not employees. When it comes to adding more people to my team, pricing plans are not clear and cross-use is hard to figure out.
Getting number of CEOs and Hiring Managers for Business Development
The user interface is very intuitive. Searching for potential leads is rather simple and very powerful. Very interactive. I also like that their tech support team is there to help, even when the documentation is reasonable and available on every step of the process.
Haven't been able to find something yet that I dislike. I have been recommending this to peers. Will keep learning.
Finding new prospects to target where my services are valuable.
1-really perfect email's of all job levels 2-really great filters even better than navigator
1-sometimes no email's that is really frustrating
By providing perfect email's and phone number of all job levels from analyst level to C-level
Apollo is the best Outbound solution. It has all the tools a Sales Agent needs.- It's efficient. It's automatic. It really makes you improve your work
Nothing- I think it is great- I wouldn't change anything.
It helps me find more leads and reach out to them
Apollo has integrations with the platforms we use and makes email sequencing easy and seamless.
My company switched over from using Amplemarket so there are a few things I am still getting used to.
We are an agency and it allows us to send out mass emails across multiple clients.
getting email id's instantly helps a lot for cold emails
more free credit needed for phone numbers
i can get email id's , which i need for cold email
I love how in depth this tool is while it maintains an easy to use interface. I use it frequently - like daily. It was easy to set up and understand and train my team on it. Support has been easy to reach and has helped me with little things.
I'm not a big fan of how I have to import a list thru the settings. Seems an odd place to do this at. I would like to do this in Sequences.
Apollo is what tracks all of our emails to customers and prospects we want to do market research with to get leads in new markets.
Apollo.io is easy to navigate, even for beginners. Apollo.io free plan is so good that you feel like you are on premium. Apollo.io makes generating leads on LinkedIn so easy and stress-free
None I can think of yet because of the simplicity in the interface.
Apollo.io is solving the problem of verifying email to know if it is valid or invalid. Also it helps find leads directly on LinkedIn.
I love the feature Bulk emailing clients
I cannot think of anything right now. I need to see the video of buyers intent.
more business for myself
There isn't one item, its the multi-use approach that is brilliant. From scheduling meetings, entering manual leads (and getting contact details), running a 15k+ territorial sequence, or even using its AI bot to pull down the details of a teams meetings - its all here. Super easy to setup, and customer support has been speedy and great to work with. I use it every day.
There are some limitations, like a 10,000 lead upload. Which isn't a problem, but its good to know its limits when working and stripping down data.
Being apart of a very small sales team, I've been able to, at scale, prospect like a team of 3-5 people.
Almost never crashes, great value for a buck.
The contact base could be better, once a month I need to reconnect my e-mail
E-mail automations are involved in my price plan and this is a great value!
The contact information works 9/10 times, whish is great. Mail delivery and status management is highly organized 10/10
I can't separate the contact list that I uploaded from the rest of the general data on the platform. It's not a big deal, but I'd like that option to be possible
Find new contacts/clients and send emails with our with our services proposal
We get client data, Email Automation,Task,CRM Integration all in one place. Quality of Data is great.
They need to give Linkedin Automation in Basic Plan itself :(
I was looking for a platform from where I get complete information on my CRM First Party Data. After using Apollo it has become very easy for me to reach out to key decision makers that eventually increased my Enterprise sales opportunities.
Ease of use and effortlessness. It is very easy to source information.
Some emails that they provide are based on random guessing and not the exact email.
Apollo saves us a lot of time. We dont have to look around a lot for information
As apollo helps me to accurately find details about my prospects without much of hustle. i could locate people there email or direct dial by jjust searching a few tabs onb Apollo. That's the thing I love most about it.
There is nothing as such to dislike . It's Just if I could scroll upto 10 pages in basic version that will be so good to know.
Apollo solves my problem of verified location where the actual prospects are working in a multi million company .I could easily find there emails, locations, contact number , direct dial and the person working in a particular department when list is so longer I could navigate and filter the actual contacts through it .
I've been using Apollo for about a month and what fascinates me is the number of companies registered with valid emails, which make contact incredibly easy.
So far I don't have anything that displeases me.
I have been saving a lot of time searching for qualified leads
It has great detail about the companies and its contacts. Multipule search filters allow you to get very granular with your results. The data is also really accurate.
A few small navigation changes would be nice (the left menu scrolls when you don't want it to). Not big deal.
Finding contacts and their emails for targeted prospects
They reward the user by exploring the platform. They offer multiple assets and training to have a successful CRM. The most incredible thing is that, even with a free account, the level of filtering and data specifics can be set to be very targeted. The customer support is also very detailed and clear in what are the steps we should follow, when we present them questions.
As I only used the free account, my dislikes are only related to features that can be easily unlocked with paid plans. It works really well.
I used Apollo.io to search for venture capital. It helped me find what VC work with my field and who are the ideal people that I should message. For that they have an extensive list of contacts, form which I used LinkedIn and Email. Besides it can also take external lists of VC that were of interest to me and find the people working on them (no other tool in the internet can do this as well as Apollo.io).
The total package! One place that does it all like a pro. As a salesperson I want the best tool for tracking leads, getting insights on leads and connect quick when I find a new lead. Sales is a numbers game, yet it is also stooled on quality. So tools like Apollo need to be used to build up momentum, get traction on your website and after a personal followup in a personal way. Apollo does exactly that! I train people on becoming the best sales person via marcillaud.com and I can say, I always suggest Apollo.io. If you invest in tools, start with this one.
Pricing could be more aggressive and the email addresses are not always correct.
Quick outreach, creation of pipeline. Getting traction on a new product fast.
The navigation is straightforward and the tutorials make it easy to get started right away.
There is nothing that I can think of at this time.
Apollo is helping me reach companies for cold outreach. Access to emails is helping me reach potential clients.
