Compare ZoomInfo with other popular tools in the same category.
The data offered from the tool worked well enough for our organization. It wasn't always accurate, but it was fairly decent. We used the tool for data enrichment as well as prospecting.
* The data wasn't always accurate * The billing was not always transparent when it came to credits, what was charged (and how much was charged) * ZoomInfo data outside the US is terrible - with the amazing algorithms they brag about, I'm not sure how they aren't able to get accurate data worldwide unless the reports of their illegal acquisition of their data are true * ZoomInfo has no qualms with just shutting down your subscription if / when they feel like it - a different part of their organization saw us as competitive (who they acquired via an acquisition). Even though we had paid for a full year of service, they decided to just shut down our account and deactivate everything without warning You should view a company with business practices like this very suspiciously. We thought we were "special", but after talking with other companies, they have experienced similar dubious ZoomInfo business practices.
The tool was able to find some updated data as well as some new prospects. However, it is very US centric and not at all a complete solution. Unfortunately, you will need to buy other tools as ZoomInfo offers an incomplete tool. We are suddenly no longer customers with ZoomInfo unilaterally and suddenly initiating an early termination - they do not care how they sever the relationship or contract or what impact it may have on their reputation.
Nothing that interest me to continue using their service
Contacts are not updated, and many bounced emails can cause the domain to become spamming. The link of from the contact to Linkedin some are linked to incorrect contact name, and the profile of the contact is not as per the right job title. We use it for Asia and most of them will be in Singapore but after using it for a few months we notice their contacts are not up to date. I contacted them for a refund and they claim their database deliverable rate 75% but I only can say is 50%, and it doesn't worth the dollars you pay for it.
As of now i compare it with their competitors, and they are also the same but Zoom info charges more than the rest of the competitors and with the 50% failure rate, i do not think it is worth using it.
I did not like one thing about using Engage
ZoomInfo Engage has single handily been the worst sales tool I've ever used. The system is so buggy and honestly causes more issues than it solves. It feels as if ZoomInfo knew they needed a product like Engage and put pieced something together so their sales team could say that they had a solution. There is a reason why their sales team utilizes a competitor and not their own tool
Automating sales outreach but we switched off Engage as fast as possible
It's honestly hard to find something that was beneficial from the product. The whole experience was dishonest from the beginning.
I was essentially lied to. I was told ZoomInfo was a solution for building lists for my small marketing agency. I trusted the sales rep adn got burned. I spent months working with their client success reps and none of them could find a use case. Even though the ZoomInfo team agrees that there is no value for us, they are binding us to a year-long contract.
I attempted to build lists for Chiropractors. The data was so bad it was hard to believe. Out of 700 contacts, around 40% of the data was inaccurate.
Integrations exist... they are just slow and unreliable.
The integrations are buggy and break. The widgets for Chrome may as well not exist.
Not that it's resulted in any sales, but the Intent signals feature is at least very interesting.
Their sales and marketing efforts are A1, it's fortunate for them, but very damaging for their clients, as they feast on Small to medium businesses that are trying to make an honest living, and keeping people employed in these tough times.
The data backing the interface is completely useless, we sent marketing campaigns after campaigns with a fraction of success as compared to other tools such as Lusha on the market. On top of which when we decided not to renew, the customer success advisor promised a well-designed campaign to help us realise the ROI, just to delay us from sending the cancellation in writing. As anyone can imagine, the campaign was never executed as the moment we went out of 60-day renewal notice, the communication broke, unless we were contacted by the account manager two weeks before renewal to discuss a new plan, which we kindly rejected. Now we have their accounts payable all over us threatening us with outside collections company and legal action.
We wasted a total of $12000 with ZoomInfo with 0 ROI and a third party collections team harassing us as the cherry on top.
It does what it's supposed to do. I have nothing else to add.
Their sales reps do NOT reach out prior to the renewal clause kicking in, REMEMBER THAT. it is just piss poor customer service, I work in SaaS too and we would never allow the shit they allow when it comes to taking advantage of busy clients' schedules. So when you do reach out, you better be DAMN clear about what you need and want for the next renewal with a very clear "without those terms being met, consider this my legal notice of cancelation", doesn't matter if you want to cancel- that just keeps the door open, because you talking to them about the needs they aren't meeting does NOT count as a formal notice in their eyes. In our case, we talked to them prior to the renewal clause kicking in, the sales person was not clear with our contact here about next steps, and they were not even a little understanding to the miscommunication what-so-ever. Their sales team is sneaky. Not a fan.
Nothing 40 other tools cant take care of, Slintel is just as good.
These guys provide aan okay service but when you go to cancel they bully you into auto-renewing the contract. Run away.
They are bullies and they try to manipulate you into an auto-renewing contract. They threaten litigation, terrible, terrible experience.
This is a shakedown- run away as quickly as possible.
Provided some information on certain contacts but was overall cumbersome to use and data uploads were next to impossible to execute properly.
Auto renewal with no notification ahead of time. Zero flexibility on cancelation, only offered to "do all we can to ensure you see return on investment in 2022-2023" - They certainly didn't do that in 2021 so I certainly don't expect them to in 2022. The only time I ever received communication from them was when they wanted to help me with a data load that would allow them to charge me even more money. Otherwise completely unresponsive, unhelpful, and a complete scam and waste of money. Horrible overall experience and shady practices all around.
Used for lead generation but was overall useless and time wasting, along with a complete waste of money.
The sales pitch was good- everything after that was disappointing
Be aware that buried deep in the terms is a auto renewal clause that will keep you on the software and not allow for a fair cancelation
Bad user interface- poor customer service, expensive and deceptive practices
Nothing, it's been very clear that a small 2 seat account isn't a priority for anyone at Zoominfo. The frustration started a while ago when I purchased engage there was no onboarding effort from their end and then after I signed a new contract they are acting like the payment terms I agreed to arent able to be honored from their end.
Onboarding for Engage is piss poor and it's taking 6 weeks+ to get the terms I agreed upon figured out. If you are a smaller start-up they won't care about you and put you on the back burner.
I can get a contact of a prospect that I need, never been too impressed with the platform though, I am excited when my contract is up to move to a competitor who might prioritize their customers like an actual valuable customer.
Onboarding was easy, it is a SaaS product.
We contacted customer service 45 days in advance to cancel and were served with the "gotcha" of a 60 day out buried in a link from the original contract. Several attempts to work with their teams were stonewalled - they just pointed to the contract and said "you should've read it, it's your own fault." As a 20 person startup, I am surprised we even gave 45 days notice. I have never heard of another software company with a 60 day out, nor have I dealt with a business that actually held us to an additional 13.5 months of payment due to a contract. It's insane. The fact that they are willing to burn bridges just for a one year subscription shows their lack of faith in the usefulness of their own product.
We were looking for sales lead generation. The cost was prohibitively high and the success rate in finding decision makers was low for our business.
Being able to see when people click on a link is helpful, especially when you can tell they forwarded it within their organization.
It is not intuitive or easy to use. I've had issues prescheduling emails within the salesflow feature. It also has sent out duplicate emails to contacts without me touching the system.
We dont have an email marketing tool so this has helped with mass communications, but not much else. I try not to use it because I find it unreliable.
Only good side is you see the list of companies in regions but you cannot do anything with the list
Not a prospecting good Phone numbers, emails 30% correct for US EMEA, APAC - not generating any personal phone numbers, company emails Not a good prospecting tool Everyone use ZI but only for 2-3 month testing No customer care, support department Contract locked-in - no one helps you to terminate afterwards
Prospecting - US, EMEA, APAC No benefits at all - all information are slightly correct (25%-30%)
We did appreciate accessible email formats but by the time you find a contact that has valid info they'll already have been hit up with dozens of emails and calls from competitors.
Horrible support, horrible subscription policies. Sales reps are condescending and you cannot reach support or negotiations. Good luck ever speaking with a person.
Original was working in ZoomInfo to find and utilize additional contacts, companies and for revenue modeling. The benefits though are negligible, information is mostly public and contacts are farmed by everyone.
It is helpful to find contact information (the few times when they actually have correct information listed).. I also like when it randomly logs me out 5 times a day or when their horribly annoying extension pops up whenever I highlight any text..
Everything about this platform is subpar - not sure how this company still is in business. They often don't have a single phone number or email for entire companies. When they do have a prospect's phone and email address, it's often the wrong number or the wrong email... I couldn't dislike a product more than this one - they also charge an incredibly high rate. Save your money and use a cheaper alternative. They also have horrible customer service and a horrible user interface.
Using ZoomInfo has benefited me in one way, I know that I will never purchase another ZoomInfo license again and will ensure that every company I go to in the future doesn't use it.
Nothing, even for the price negotiation. Their official price was 15k $ for 5k credits, i negotiated 6k for 10k credit and thought i had a very good deal while a friend of mine told me he got 15k credits for 5k. So they are basically charging you as much as they can.
They forced us into renewing even tho we replied that we are not interested to the email sent by them 2 days after the cut off date (58 days instead of 60 days) for the auto renewal. So now they are forcing us to pay for a service we dont use and we replied the the email they sent us after the auto renewal, that we are not intrested in renewing. This is how they are showing that customer dont churn, by forcing them into a renewal. It is the worst service we ever got. We had some issues with ither vendors about renewal and the all got cancel or even refunded (kudos to outreach for example) In addition to this I made a deep research on all the tools that are similar since i will never continue to use a product that is treating is customer that way even tho they firced us in renewing. In my research i checked for , slintel, lusha, uplead, salesintel and apollo.io I can tell you that they all were better pricing and service than zoominfo and the clear winner was Apollo.io They have an outreach platform, tones of contacts information, great integration with linkeding and salesnav Any other solution is better than Zoominfo
For prospecting, i used all the tools in the market and zoominfo has no real benefit. They just have a brand and a lot of marketing money. Their product and customer service was the worst!
I did not like anything about ZoomInfo, none of the information was correct or helpful in any way. It was all outdated and took me more time to find the correct info once I realized what they had was wrong.
I did not like that the info in ZoomInfo was completely inaccurate, outdated, and not even fully filled out. I wasted so much time calling places that told me that person left the organization years ago.
I have not seen any benefits. I was trying to solve the problem of not having the correct leads for cold calling, but it did not solve my problem at all, it made it worse.
Sometimes, the emails they give don't bounce. Not often though.
Most of their "intelligent" targeting is completely the wrong people, and those people are often not at their jobs anymore. Lots of bounces. Plus they insist on a 60 day notice to cancel (buried deep in their terms). give a mere 45 days and you are on the hook for another year of software that adds no value.
Targeted marketing to a niche is the problem. No benefits from using Zoominfo.
The platform provides good data for the US and Canada.
Unethical business practices like I have never seen before in an attempt to lock you in their contract forever. First of all, their account executive sold us the "full version" of Zoominfo only for us to realize that it was missing all European data and forced us to pay an additional US$ 7,000 for it. The data for Europe is not even good; we got almost no return on the expensive investment we made on the platform, so our sales team decided not to renew. However, Zoominfo's contract is shady and sneaks in a tiny auto-renew clause in the contract; you won't hear from them again after you sign up until the moment your "opt-out window" for the contract expires. We've tried to cancel our contract with a 45 days notice, but they claim it's not possible and we must renew another year because the notice is 60 days (uncommon in the SaaS industry). Their reps harass you, calling five times a day to force the renew and threatening with legal action and debt collectors. We are a company based in Europe, and the European Union considers this practice "unfair contract terms" and such lock-in clauses cannot be enforced as they do in the US, but still Zoominfo keeps sending constant legal threats and harasses our sales reps and calls the office all the time with more threats.
We tried to use Zoominfo as part of an outbound strategy, but the data for Europe is not good and we want to cancel it. The data for US and Canada is better, but not great to actually justify their prices.
ZoomInfo has access to a large database of contacts.
More expensive than other solutions that provide more value for far less money.
Due to its expensive model, it provides limited value to a limited number of users beyond immediate contact/account data retrieval.
Excellent communication until they sell your their service Custom pricing based on your needs
needed to pay extra taxes because their juridical body is based in Delaware, so I've paid an extra 1.5k for 6 months
Searching for relevant clients feature is not that correct and there's a lot of data which is invalid
I like the simplicity of the UI - it's really easy to navigate even if you have no prior experience or knowledge of the platform. They organize the info in a way that you dont notice how every single number is the same directory line
i really disliked the quality of information on zoominfo... it really did not have any QA on the emails to verify if they were valid or not and it would not have correct titles.
they were for sales / lead generation. I would have to collect phone numbers of prospective clients and cold call them. Most of the time it was a dial by name directory.
Nothing, this product was misrepresented by the sales staff as having a specialized audience when in fact, it did not have the audience. After several attempts to rectify the matter they notify us that we have no right to cancel the agreement even though they do not have the data requested. BUYER BEWARE
Before you sign a contract with ZoomInfo, be very careful. You will need to ensure your outline the contact information data you are looking for in detail within the contract as if you do not; their contract is so general they will not honor what their salesperson and leadership misrepresent about their available data. I had a particular audience. In my correspondence with the sales team, they informed me they had my audience and even told me they could easily create a solid list of 35K contacts. Upon executing the contract, I found out that they do not have the audience I was promised. I was introduced to a third-party audience provider; told they would be able to provide me with my audience and that they would soon be a part of ZoomInfo so their credits would apply. Shortly after that, the ZoomInfo team notified me they would not apply for the credits and that even though they DO NOT have the audience, the sales team told me they did but that I could not terminate my contract. I could use the 35K credits towards any other audience. Regardless that I only entered an agreement with them for that specific contract. DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THIS COMPANY - FRAUD
They have created more problems for me over the contract period and are causing me to spend more time and money to get the correct audience information they promised. DO NOT DO BUSSINESS W/ ZOOM INFO
I dont like this site at all. Do not trust.
I looked myself up to only notice all false infomation about my business, location and other info. I have never signed up for this.
I can not contact anyone which is why I am writing a review on false information. I do not recommend using ZoomInfo.
- Cell phone numbers - Creating lists -not much
- SOOOO many Bugs - Down at essential times - UI is complex - Chrome plug in issues
- Obtaining cell phone numbers
Absolutely nothing. The first lists I pulled got me and my clients nowhere.
Everything. Their only concern is that you pay on time. They have cost me countless hours of time and money. Guess I will lose more than just clients when all this is over. If you are looking at them, my suggestion RUN.
Solving nothing, but man, they are great at creating problems.
The website/app is easy to navigate, but that's the only redeeming thing I have to say.
ZoomInfo is horrible. Not only can you easily google search nearly all of this information, but their customer service is atrocious and underhanded. As others have noted, they sneak an autorenewal clause. Our company was a struggling startup during Covid, and they refused to let us out of the contract because we missed the warning by a few days. I have never seen another business behave so unethically and cold hearted. I could not recommend any more strongly that you avoid this company.
None! We have only lost money and become increasingly frustrated. It has nearly crippled out startup. I will be happy to share my experience with anyone considering an investment into this horrible company.
The integration with Salesforce is convenient. Though pretty much all of the data is irrelevant. The emails and phone numbers are all outdated and it has me, personally, listed still at a company I haven't worked at in a long time.
BEWARE: ZoomInfo does not communicate this, but has buried into their contracts an auto-renewal clause that triggers 60-days BEFORE your annual contract ends. So, if you notify them 1-59 days before your contract is scheduled to end that you are wanting to cancel your upcoming contract renewal then it won't matter. You will be locked into the next year even though you provided them notice you were looking to cancel. This is a testament to the quality of data they provide. If they have to build "gotcha" clauses like this into their contract and then heavily enforce it, it shows how much faith they themselve have in the quality of their product.
Cold calling is dead. Your potential customers do not want to be interrupted by you. I would recommend you dedicate resources more toward creating lists and a loyal following of your brand versus cold calling and emailing like what ZoomInfo provides. You will be much better served in the longrun.
There was not much upside. See my review below.
We were sent a renewal contract. I told the person who sent me the renewal contract at that time we would not be renewing. They told me in fact I had already auto renewed and had missed my 60 day deadline. This was definitely around 45 to 50 days before the contract was up. But I was never told about a renewal date or that I needed to meet this date. Here in Colorado we are protected from these type of things. When I tried to tell the rep that he said I was not protected and I had to renew I had no choice and if I wanted he would give me a discount for my services if I didn't complain. This is classic extortion. I would expect so much better from a company in the year 2021. I can't imagine a company is more interested in auto renewals and fighting the fact then having happy customers who would like to renew because their product was so amazing. Furthermore the customer service rep I talk to was threatening I thought this was because I was a woman, and maybe it was. But so many of the reviews spark a very similar thread here. I'm not sure how this is legal or ethical and how her company could even still be in business is at practice this type of business. Help!
