"Expensive and evasive"
What do you like best about ZoomInfo?

I still haven't received the support I need to scrub my existing data against the list I have prepared. It's been over 5 days that I have been asking for guidance.

What do you dislike about ZoomInfo?

The total lack of support and the disconnect between their sales agents when I was signing up. I've spent over $10,000 and have been asking for support and received nothing but promises of a call back, contact numbers, and unreturned emails.

What problems is ZoomInfo solving and how is that benefiting you?

More marketing contacts, if and when Zoominfo gets around to help me.

"Not a happy zoominfo customer. The contract can't expire fast enough. Run, don't walk."
What do you like best about ZoomInfo?

I like the ability to add contacts from Linkedin to my CRM, but that is all I like about this platform. I dislike 90% of Zoominfo.

What do you dislike about ZoomInfo?

The software is built like a deck of cards and is constantly experiencing bugs and issues. It gets worse every time they add a new feature. At this point, Zoominfo has become like many other sales solutions, bloated and overpriced. Their customer success is pushy to the point of spammy but at the same time not effective at all, which is hard to do. When the pages load as you navigate through zoominfo, they prioritize the load speed of their constant adds and upsells over the actual info you want to see and my team and I have not found their data to be anywhere as clean as they promise. Best part? Good luck ever getting out of your contract. It's clear that the legal team deals with a lot of people not happy with the platform and they are quick to dismiss your desire to cancel. Proceed with caution with this company. I'd recommend looking at any of the numerous other companies providing the core functions of this platform for a fraction of the cost.

What problems is ZoomInfo solving and how is that benefiting you?

I was just looking for clean contact data, that is the only piece of the zoominfo toolset I needed. That is what they were built around. It is clear that that is the forgotten part at this point.

"Immoral business practices, consistent product outages"
What do you like best about ZoomInfo?

Anyone scaling up a sales team with outbound lead generation will benefit from contact database tools, given the data provided aligns with their ideal customer persona.

What do you dislike about ZoomInfo?

Product downtime- multiple system outages that lasted weeks. Often times we would go a full week without hearing from our Account Manager or the support team when going through these. Immoral account management and renewal practices-The team re-wrote contract terms by removing the terms from our contract, placing them on online terms and conditions, and not notifying us of the revisions. Lack of data in public sector.

What problems is ZoomInfo solving and how is that benefiting you?

Lead generation. Contact database was not appropriate for our Sector, vendor was unable to support our problems.

"SOULESS COMPANY CARES ABOUT BOTTOM LINE AND NOTHING ELSE"
What do you like best about ZoomInfo?

The quality of their contacts is fine. But their customer service is appalling.

What do you dislike about ZoomInfo?

ZERO STARS Zoominfo bakes in an autorenewal clause that they bury in their 12-page agreement. If you do not cancel your subscription via email 1 month before your contract is set to renew, they auto-renew it. If you would like to cancel your subscription, even a few days later, they sick their lawyers on you. If you do not pay, they sell your contract to a collections agency—absolutely soulless people. They are a GARBAGE company with an OVERVALUED product. I recommend any other company: Apollo, Uplead, D&B Hoovers

What problems is ZoomInfo solving and how is that benefiting you?

Fine customer contact info, terrible customer relations, and they strong-arm you with their legal team if you ever want to terminate your contract.

"Shady tactics"
What do you like best about ZoomInfo?

The direct info was useful, but often inaccurate

What do you dislike about ZoomInfo?

Their tactics after we terminated their contract, they have continually tried to get money from us thru shady ways. Its blatant disregard and entrapment.

What problems is ZoomInfo solving and how is that benefiting you?

We weren't able to solve any problems with ZoomInfo, in fact it created more headache.

What do you like best about ZoomInfo?

None, all its features are available with any other competitor

What do you dislike about ZoomInfo?

The price, the yearly contracts, there is literally nothing new and this product does only lists so you are stuck finding other outreach tools anyway

What problems is ZoomInfo solving and how is that benefiting you?

I needed contact lists, Zoominfo provides that at 10X the cost of its competitors, I wish I had done my research before I purchased their only annual plan

"I felt like I was their product tester"
What do you like best about ZoomInfo?

It is a good way for sales execs to send emails to their prospects based on the templates that marketing provides. The training was very good.

What do you dislike about ZoomInfo?

A lot of things do not work as intended or as they should. I spent a lot of time communicating with support to fix issues, things not working as designed. Our sales team had to learn the work arounds for things that don't work correctly. The metrics also do not seem accurate. Our account manager was not helpful.

"Really confusing and not user friendly"
What do you like best about ZoomInfo?

The autodialer is a nice tool once people are in a salesflow

What do you dislike about ZoomInfo?

The tool is just so buggy and not user-friendly compared to other tools on the market. Errors all the time without any real explanation, the salesflows are not editable, and there are no real insights to open rates or anything like that. As someone who uses the tool everyday I would not reccomend it, look at other tools on the market like outreach or salesloft.

What problems is ZoomInfo solving and how is that benefiting you?

General prospecting, although this tool feels like a step back from our previous tool.

"Okay but overpriced product. Scummy company. Treats their customers poorly with contract issues."
What do you like best about ZoomInfo?

- Good amount of data available - Direct lines were accurate before COVID

What do you dislike about ZoomInfo?

- Unexpected evergreen clauses in contract that I was not able to cancel my contract despite reaching out A MONTH before the contract renewal - Non-responsive sales reps / AR team when dealing with a contract issue trying to reduce the size of my contract before the renewal - Now being collected against for an amount larger than my original contract claiming I didn't reach out to the specific email that was in my contract to resolve the issue (despite having reached out to their sales rep about the issue).

What problems is ZoomInfo solving and how is that benefiting you?

Need data for Sales Development Reps.

Some of the data is useful. Need to choose contact accuracy score of around 90

What do you dislike about ZoomInfo?

Specifically requested European data which we got but the Intent package is only for the USA. Was not told this despite making it quite clear multiple times that we need European data only. Can't get a response from Zoominfo either from our account manager or their customer support line.

"Engage disappointment. Not ready for prime time"
What do you like best about ZoomInfo?

That is it fully integrated w/ Zoominfo and salesforce and I'm not moving prospect data from system to system.

What do you dislike about ZoomInfo?

So. freaking. buggy. Literally, I'm utterly disappointed in how immature this product is. Considering what they have done w/ Zoominfo and all they have to do is copy any of the top 5 sales enablement tools, Engage is a huge miss. It's like we're the first users. Customer support team is very responsive, but there seems to be one engineer assigned to this product. Giving it 30 more days and then will be moving to Outreach unless things improve.

What problems is ZoomInfo solving and how is that benefiting you?

Not moving data from one system to another. Benefits are unrealized as I'm so unproductive with all the bugs b/t Zoominfo and Engage. Their ReachOut extension is super slow and buggy.

"Raised their prices because they "added new functionality", but key functionality is lacking."
What do you like best about ZoomInfo?

-Good for doing mass exports, phone numbers and e-mails and generally accurate -Some great customizable search features -Company demographics and data is accurate

What do you dislike about ZoomInfo?

-Prices were raised recently because of "all the new features and data added", but new features are half-baked and data is increasingly innacurate -The technographics are complete garbage. DiscoverOrg and Datanyze used to have fairly accurate technology data, but they acquired a bunch of sales intelligence providers and merged into one massive entity where they essentially threw the kitchen sink of any data they could possibly find into company technographics and now it's complete garbage. If we try to target a company using a specific piece of technology, that information is 10% accurate at best. We'be had to pay extra money for lists from other vendors to fix this. -The integration feature with vendors like SFDC and Outreach.io is half-baked. Essential fields like work number and direct numer can't be added properly without breaking. SFDC leads often fail to upload altogether. -Prospect titles are often innacurate. -Slow pace to catch up to updating prospects. -Intent data we were sold on is useless. -Your account manager and customer success manager will be switched several times a year, don't get used to any lasting relationships. -After they acquired Datanyze, they removed key features like scraping for website technology and company job postings... rendering it completely inert. They basically just acquired it to burn it down so they wouldn't have to compete with them.

What problems is ZoomInfo solving and how is that benefiting you?

We're getting more problems then we're actually solving. SDR organizations need a list provider and sales intelligence tool. Because ZoomInfo/DiscoverOrg gobbled up all their competitors, they now operate like a typical monopoly - acquiring vendors without linking them together holistically and throwing spaghetti at the wall to see what will stick in order to upsell to their existing customer base.

What do you like best about ZoomInfo?

What do you dislike about ZoomInfo?

I would recommend a competitor every time because there are so many popups. I use ZoomInfo to quickly find and update contact information that may be missing in our CRM, but it's impossible to do quickly and efficiently due to "new announcements" "notifications" and popups.

What problems is ZoomInfo solving and how is that benefiting you?

"Price Gauge"
What do you like best about ZoomInfo?

I like the access to the vast database of contacts that allows the opportunity to get more numbers, emails, and company information.

What do you dislike about ZoomInfo?

I don't think there is enough space here. We were able to download and export contacts into salesforce of 50,000 contacts a month that is 600,000 for the year. Now when we upgrade, yes upgrade, we are only going to get a maximum of 144,000 contacts for 12 users and a bonus of 20,000 contacts. That is a total of 164,000 contacts. That is a 265+% increase and 436,000 contact delta!!!!!How does that make sense? and you are going to up our price for one additional feature with TEDD, come on guys that is ridiculous. I've never seen an increase like that in my life at anything I sold, anything! But you're going to give us a 50% discount on adding additional contacts to download. That's insane. How does a startup scale and grow their business? With your model, they don't. Let's think about this...For example, Kaiser permanente has 134,000 employees. In their IT department, they have about 3000 employees. I need to export at least 1000 employees with relevant titles to get my target audience of 150 employees. So based on that model we could only contact 144 correction 164 (because of your bonus) enterprise companies before we reach capacity. With our old model, we could do reach all of the fortune 500 companies and then some. So what changed? This does not help companies automate or scale. Let's just say we are going to evaluate seamless ai now.

What problems is ZoomInfo solving and how is that benefiting you?

Problems im am solving include access to contacts.

"Glorified phone book with an untrustworthy team"
What do you like best about ZoomInfo?

If you are in desperate need of contacts and don't care whether they want to talk to you, ZoomInfo is your software. The scoop information can occasionally be useful. The search module is easy to use

What do you dislike about ZoomInfo?

Contacts -- especially international contacts -- are often outdated, tied to a HQ phone number or completely hostile to outreach. Buyer Intent module is moderately useful for 30,000 foot view, but they can't recommend specific contacts for outreach and just pull their best guess. Decentralized management is idiotic--you can't manage credits centrally as an admin, each user has a monthly limit and your company loses those credits if everyone doesn't hit their limit. Also holding exports hostage for seats (you need to exchange user seats for additional export credits) is downright ridiculous. Essentially they offer a variety of features then make it as difficult as possible for you to get full benefit from them. The CRM integration is an absolute joke--get ready for endless csvs. Finally, beware they have a two month notice requirement in contracts that they are oh-so-comfortable letting slide right by if it means they get a deal.

What problems is ZoomInfo solving and how is that benefiting you?

When you need contacts you can get contacts. Cursory buyer intent data helps target companies in middle of purchase exploration.

What do you like best about ZoomInfo?

There is a lot of data options to segment and find the type of data points that you are looking for.

What do you dislike about ZoomInfo?

A lot of inaccurate data and they make it very difficult to get your credits back. You have to send them each piece of bad data and I do not have time for that. It is not user-friendly and I found support lacking. When we discussed what was on the roadmap for getting better data and making it easier to get accurate leads, I was always giving the run-around.

What problems is ZoomInfo solving and how is that benefiting you?

It has helped add people to our campaigns. When you have correct data, it helps connects you with the people you are trying to reach.

"Glitchy, bad user experience, and very slow customer service"
What do you like best about ZoomInfo?

The contact information is decently accurate.

What do you dislike about ZoomInfo?

Extremely disappointing for the price. This is a review of the paid enterprise product, not their free database. First of all, the database is very glitchy. When I tag things and go to the list of those tagged items for review and export, either there are contacts/accounts that I tagged that are missing from the list (but are accurately tagged when I view the contact/account on its own), or the entire list doesn't download. I have to go through the lists I downloaded to find which items are missing and export them individually, which is extremely time-consuming. Secondly, the user experience is very poor. It is difficult to search by exact title (not just C-suite etc.), business model (B2B/B2C, but 80% of the companies aren't tagged), and similar businesses. It is also frustrating to find an account to target and then have to take the extra step of clicking into the contact to tag it instead of just tagging it on the company page (big slowdown since the database loads very slowly). If you want to tag an entire list, you can only add 25 at a time. The 25 limit on the page has caused more problems than I can count, and entries at the top/bottom of the page constantly change even if you sort the list the same way. Entries disappear constantly. It is very slow and clunky. I've been randomly locked out of my account with no explanation and no immediate assistance (despite the prompt to "please contact customer service.") Finally, customer service is a joke. An enterprise product should have immediate customer service, especially for a product this poor. I have waited hours for responses to emails after hours (which is ridiculous - business is 24/7 these days), and waited on hold for over 30 minutes during business hours only for the customer service person to have no immediate solution and need to check with the engineers (of which there aren't enough, evidently). I've lost days and key outreach times to this poorly designed product with poorer service. It is no surprise that the company has 50% adjusted EBITDA margins. They do not spend enough on product engineering and customer service and are merely ripping off their customers.

What problems is ZoomInfo solving and how is that benefiting you?

I was trying to solve lead generation with ZoomInfo, but it has created more problems than it solved. With the amount of time I spend working around all the issues with the product, I might as well have used a Google search and email finder, which would cost about 10% of what I spent on ZoomInfo.

"SpyWare for Businesses"
What do you like best about ZoomInfo?

Nothing, there's no way to un-install the software. I had to quarantine the files.

What do you dislike about ZoomInfo?

They had a public facing server that revealed our entire companies domain contact information to the web. This includes e-mails, cell phone numbers, faxes, time with the organization, etc. Basically a social engineers wet dream. We've been under attack ever since. Seriously Zoominfo, secure your servers. Not to mention, I'm not even sure how they installed the service on our domain. They state they can only install and pull your domain information if you allow it, by "creating an account". Well guess what? I did a password recovery from every e-mail on our domain and nothing was returned. We are a financial business and we most definitely did not allow it. This is SpyWare for businesses and the installation was unauthorized.

What problems is ZoomInfo solving and how is that benefiting you?

We're under attack because of them. There is no benefit, only continual nightmares from this day forward, or until I switch our domain name and website. We have so far received over 4,000 virus attempts, 270,000 phishing e-mails and constant attempts against our Firewall. This is a horrible company for doing what they do. DO NOT trust them! I've been in the IT field for 32 years, have handled Data Breaches, Ransomware takeovers, SAN to SAN migrations, Firewall support & implemented Full Business Installations. I have saved companies millions of dollars and accomplished 1000's of projects successfully. So believe me when I say, ZoomInfo isn't a good thing.

"Stay away from ZoomInfo - Shady contract clauses"
What do you like best about ZoomInfo?

Their contact database is decent (not great). The org chart functionality works well. They have the possibility to import a list of target accounts and search for contacts (even though it quite standard today).

What do you dislike about ZoomInfo?

They tried to extort our renewal by saying that we didn't give them enough notice of cancellation. Their contract term clearly stated that the agreement is valid for 12 months. Then, buried on page 3, they added a clause that requires a 60-day cancellation notice, or the contract will auto-renew at a higher price. We never heard from anyone at ZoomInfo for 11 months. Then they reached out to us to try to upsell us to their new platform. When we told them that we weren't interested in renewing the contract (with 30-day notice), they came back to us stating that the contract already auto-renewed and we are responsible to pay that invoice. Needless to say, we won't pay a dime. I would understand if ZoomInfo uses auto-renewal clauses to simplify their procurement process. But when a customer wants to leave, and it gives you a 30-day notice, you should try to enforce it. In California these clauses are no longer enforceable, unless they are clearly stated in bold and the vendor send reminders and notices ahead of time.

What problems is ZoomInfo solving and how is that benefiting you?

Searching for B2B contacts. Their database is OK but other competitors are doing better (Apollo, Clearbit) and they are not as shady. We are using ZoomInfo to build targeted list for our clients and to enrich data.

"Data aside, the user experience and workflow automation is nonexistent."
What do you like best about ZoomInfo?

Nothing, really. A lot of names available, I guess?

What do you dislike about ZoomInfo?

The reports can only come once a week, not once a day. The intent data does not get ported over to SFDC, so you can't add any reporting to help your sales team prioritize. They don't give you many keywords to choose from for the intent data, and their keywords are very enterprise focused. The data is not always valid (bad emails, incorrect job titles, etc). The customer support and sales teams are completely confused. No one seems to talk to each other, and we get different answers based on who we go to. Not to mention, it's EXPENSIVE.

What problems is ZoomInfo solving and how is that benefiting you?

Getting contact information. The intent data is something we hoped would solve a problem, but so far it's pretty minimal. We've been able to build our database. But you can get contact data anywhere. That's not enough of a differentiator.

"Customer Success Is A BIG Disappointment"
What do you like best about ZoomInfo?

The data is actually really good, which is why it's such a shame that customer success is very sub par. I like that DiscoverOrg seems to be adding new features to help improve the benefits of the solution. However, being difficult to work with, really makes it so that I cannot recommend them overall.

What do you dislike about ZoomInfo?

We've been long-time DiscoverOrg customers. However, with the acquisition of Zoom Info, the customer success team members have really been a huge disappointment. Worth knowing that they cut off your ability to export or sync any data to your CRM 30 days before you are up for renewal. So basically you only get 11 months worth of usage out of a year contract. Customer success is super slow and unresponsive until you are up for renewal. I also had issues with our manager going around the solution owners on our side and trying to work with other groups. I also had two different people in contact with me about the account - lots of confusion on their side. Overall, they very much discounted the customer preferences and relationship. I also wouldn't suggest buying the Bombara integration with DiscoverOrg - just buy direct from Bombara.

What problems is ZoomInfo solving and how is that benefiting you?

Main reason to use DiscoverOrg was for account intelligence and contact identification.

"Data: 40% of Contact Data is Incorrect, Service: 10% Renewal Uplift with Shady Business Practice"
What do you like best about ZoomInfo?

When we began the service, the on-boarding experience was great. Our Customer Success met with the team individually and trained the staff on how the best use the app. At first we were impressed with the size and depth of the database.

What do you dislike about ZoomInfo?

I am reluctant to write this review for try to give people the benefit of the doubt. However, my experience with DiscoverOrg / ZoomInfo deserves to be shared. BACKGROUND We bought a 2 year Subscription DiscoverOrg service to help with our Sales and Marketing activities. We sells mainly to high tech companies that sells SaaS. 40 PERCENT OF THE DATA IS INCORRECT - When we began the service, the on-boarding experience was great. Our Customer Success met with the team individually and trained the staff on how the best use the app. At first we were impressed with the size and depth of the database. However, once we start using the lists we found on average 40 percent of the contact data is incorrect. - We thought we were building our lists incorrectly, however, once we learned it was not use it was the database itself. - We perform both email and direct dial campaigns. Each and every week we were finding that from 36% to 45% percent of the contact data was incorrect, where the person left, or of the wrong individual. - Over the 2 years, we have hired prospecting firms who have seen similar results with the database. These firms have told us that DiscoverOrg / ZoomInfo is notorious for having high bad data rates and that 40% is the norm they see. BE PREPARED TO SPEND MONEY TO FIX DISCOVERORG / ZOOMINFO DATA - After realizing 40% of the Data is incorrect, we had to spend money on other applications and services to correct and clean up the data. THEIR SALESFORCE APP OVERWRITES YOUR CLEAN DATA WITH THEIR BAD DATA - We implemented their Salesforce App to provide insights to Account and Contact data. - Once we started to correct and clean up the large number of records with bad DiscoverOrg / ZoomInfo data, we realized their app is poorly constructed where it will overwrite our updates rather than accept them. - We were spending additional money to fix DiscoverOrg / ZoomInfo data to have the app replace it rather than accept it. YOUR SUBSCRIPTION DOES NOT HAVE A UNIFORM START / END DATE - As we got closer to our Subscription End Date with DiscoverOrg / ZoomInfo, we noticed our contract end date different. Their finance depart would tell us an end date than would differ from the renewal sales team. We had to ask repeatedly what is our Subscription End Date. THEY AUTOMATICALLY APPLY A 10% UPLIFT - I totally understand businesses have to make money. Most SaaS applications have an uplift from 3% to 7%, but I have never seen an application at 10%. - If their service on Month 24 was better than Month 1, I understand why 10% is applicable, however for the entire 2 year duration their incorrect contact data has been around 40%. - 10% uplift with no improvement in data quality does not seem right. THEY WILL AUTOMATICALLY RENEW YOUR AND THREAT COLLECTIONS IF YOU WANT TO CANCEL YOUR RENEWAL - We are still a customer and have expressed we do not want to renew, however, they will not let us expire the Contract. - When we asked to not to renew, they threaten us to take us to collects and demand we speak with their legal department. - They do not send out any renewal notices ahead of time. They just email you on day 60 from the Contract End Date that you are auto-renewed with a 10% uplift. - When we emailed back that we did not want to renew, they said too late. Most companies give you 30 days lock-in period with 90 day renewal notice. Not DiscoverOrg / ZoomInfo, where there is NO advanced renewal notice. - Now I have 2 month left and I cannot cancel. This is one shady company.

"Worst Ever"
What do you like best about ZoomInfo?

The ability to prospect by company size and industry.

What do you dislike about ZoomInfo?

Their pricing is only for Enterprise sized clients. When I started using ZI 8 years ago, the price was $1,995/user/year. then it went up to $3,995 and I told them I couldn't afford that in one shot as I"m a startup/one man shop. They got back to me a few months later saying they've added a new product and pricing model for startups and they can do quarterly payments and monthly rates start at 1k a month. Are you kidding me? You called me back to tell me that you've increases the price 3X and can now do quarterly payments? Such a joke... Use lusha - $199/month for 300 credits (contacts) and gives you way more accurate data than ZoomInfo.

"Up sold and being ripped off"
What do you like best about ZoomInfo?

It's a powerful search tool to find leads

What do you dislike about ZoomInfo?

So much. We were upsold a package we didn't need and are now completely ham strong by t&c's. And the product isn't even that good.

What problems is ZoomInfo solving and how is that benefiting you?

It helps us research contacts and organizations and when the information is correct it can be useful but in truth way too much info is wrong.

"DiscoverOrg is lacking the discover part"
What do you like best about ZoomInfo?

I enjoy the integrations with Salesforce. The Org chart is helpful, when you have a clear line of management.

What do you dislike about ZoomInfo?

Moving from ZoomInfo to DiscoverOrg was awful. ZoomInfo has so much information that is accurate for huge companies and also small ones. The space I used to work with was 20 employees or less. I could not verify any information with this platform. LinkedIn has more reliable information for small companies. Then I moved to the Majors space, 3000 and up for employee size, and I still couldn’t find huge companies in DiscoverOrg. I was floored. As a sales person in a prospecting role, my intel is vital. When the intel is wrong, or missing, it makes my job ridiculously harder.

What problems is ZoomInfo solving and how is that benefiting you?

Finding decision makers within an org faster. Finding out the software companies use and if it’s a competitor to ours is a huge benefit.
